Here's an event I encountered, but it is not word for word.
[villager name] found a heathen mask on the ground. What should she do?
{Put it on}
{Bury it}

I chose to bury it
{villagername} decided not to wear the mask. It was a dangerous game and she made the right decision. From her choice she gained faith and you gained energy +faith +35 energy

I just progressed dramatically in my game.

The trick of 'locking' orange heathens using children/nursing mothers is simple and effective, this is how you do it:(Its not much of a spoiler but it may ruin some people's un-interfered game experience)

-1: Choose a child or nursing mother that is young/early in pregnancy and pick them up
-2: Drag them over to the orange heathen(s) you wish to lock
-3: Drop the person and quickly pick them up. This SHOULD capture the attention of the heathen(s), but if not, repeat.
-4: Slowly drag the person over to a place out of traffic, making sure not to lose the attention of the orange heathen(s)
-5: Hold the person EXTREMELY still over the heathen(until the heathen(s) stop moving) and press 'M', which should bring you to the map.
-6: The heathen(s) should be trapped in motion, and as long as no natural occurrences interfere or you don't pick up or drop anyone there, they should stay there.
Note:
-Do not get impatient dragging the person, if you move too quickly, the heathens will lose attention and stop following
-Multiple heathens can be frozen this way, as long as you have all locked in place when you press 'M', they will ALL be frozen

For those who are troubled with the totems:

The Hungry Totem

-First you want to gather all of your builders in the fenced area
-Second, ensure you have enough energy to create bees and butterflies to distract the guards.
-Third, click on the bee button then click ON the totem
-Fourth, (optionally, use the butterflies as well) Wait for the guards to flee before you quickly drag EVERY adult you have onto the totem.
-Note: if the totem didn't demolish completely before the effects wore off, try again

The Knowing Totem

This totem was fairly hard for me, but was the climax of my progression.
-First, try the locking trick on the orange guards in the lab and guarding the totem and keep them FAR away from the totem.
-Second, Move all of your adults into the fenced area
-Third, strike the totem with lightning(and optionally bees), ensuring all of the guards flee.
-Fourth, wait till the totem stops sparking before quickly dragging ALL of your adults onto the totem. This may not destroy it the first time but repeat as needed

here's how to research medicine without tearing down the totem:

1:make sure there are no yellow masks. 2: explain the truth to everyone at the hospital. 3: if they have a light, drop a villager on them and they will run away. 4: do step 3 to everyone. 5: research medicine. 6: make sure nobody gets in the hospital again.

Puzzle 5 DOES NOT require a Master Builder. All that is required is a Master Scientist. I completed it with a Master Scientist and 2 Adept Builders. Also, if your Master Scientist happens to be a nursing mother, she will still write the proof on the back wall to convert the Heathen Master Scientist.

Reply

Just a strategy tip (for those with level three construction)... if you're playing in fast mode, feeling like it's taking forever for something to build, use a certain godly power that helped you build faster than someone else earlier. I have people polishing so I can keep getting this power.

I hope this is vague enough not to be spoiler, but clear enough to help others...

I have 2 (no choice) events.
#1 The Pesky Critter
An adorable but noisy lemur has taken an interest in the lab recently. The little animal loves attention & keeps chattering and squeaking @ the researchers until they play with him. He's so cute no one wants to chase him off, even tho he's keeping them from working. They resign themselves to just accomadating until he gets bored & moves on. Your villagers lose some tech points.
(I lost approx. 900)
#2 The Vision
Sitting alone one afternoon, (villager) sees someone standing alone @ the edge of the forest. Approaching this stranger, he/she is filled with warmth and euphoria. Upon reaching the edge of the forest, it turns out that the stranger was just a trick of the light but (villager) is sure that it meant more than this. (villager) gains faith.

Aloso Jamie is right that puzzle 5 doesn't need a master builder. I used 3 adepts.

For all the people who have mothers nursing for years: You must have gone over the maximum population, the time will continue when another person has died, but make sure none of the other people are set for parenting or you may end up with another woman nursing for years as well.

JIGuest drag a Master Scientist to the, i think it's animal skin, board in the back of the science center. It will say attempting the proof. The Heathen Master Scientist will come over to "Observe the Proof" and when your scientist is done the heathen with examine the proof and then, if it's right, he will celebrate the proof. you have to do this many times to get his faith up. When the yellow orb is above his head you cannot attempt the proof. It will take a couple of hours for it to go away.

Will she ever stop nursing so I can challenge her? She is the only purple heathen I have left.

i got another question after reading all of the comments... am i the only 1 who is the heathen mother when converted is a WOMAN??

Reply

Two questions:

1 - How do I get my villagers to honor the hand? They used to do it sometimes when I dropped them on it, but now every time I drop them on it, they polish the statue instead of honoring it. Makes it pretty difficult to get masters of all skills when you have converted all the heathens.

2- All my buildings/projects are built. Is there any way to get the Jenga trophy now or did I blow it? It just took so long to get my max energy high enough for an earthquake.

Reply

mobetta4u -

No, there's no magic pill that will make your folks automatically full.

Dan -

You can raise faith by finding new artifact collectibles. Finding duplicates will refill the energy bar, finding new ones will extend the energy bar.

Madi -

When the purple masked person joined your tribe, did they lose their mask? If so, look at the last place they were before they joined, they may have dropped the necklace piece there.

To help converting the rascal

Click on a villager and drop him near rascal, then pick the villager up again and get the rascal to follow him to the dirty camp, press m to get the map and this will hold him there. Then use the earthquake on the camp this will give all the heathens a light above thier heads including rascal. You have to do this about 3 times for them to convert.

Reply

Sarah McWhite -

First off, the only way to convert the orange and red heathens is to have the earthquake power, and that will come very late in the game when your population is around the maximum of 90. The heathen farmer will stop weeping when you fix what is causing him to weep, i.e. the wreckage that was once a working farm.

As for technology, I'd go for construction first, then science, then food.

Puzzle 15 deals with that strange idol that is missing an eye near the forest on the northeast portion of the village. You can't solve that one until you have the mausoleum cleared.

For solutions and suggestions for how to solve all of the puzzles, you might want to check out section IV of the walkthrough above which lists them in numerical order and tells you what needs to be done to solve each one.

Reply

Fotis -

In order for your master scientist to complete the proof, you have to have level 2 science (so that the board can be written on) and the purple masked heathen scientist must be in the lab to watch.

As for the aqueduct, the master scientist cannot direct the reconstruction unless you have activated level 2 construction.

Donna Tella -

You can only resurrect someone who is dead. However, you cannot wait until they are in the mausoleum, it doesn't work. Their skeleton must be on the ground, and you can use the power on their skeleton to bring them back to life. Keep in mind, however, that they come back at the same age they died, so if they were really elderly they might die again pretty soon unless you can de-age them.

Reply

Allyson -

Wow, that's a new one, I've not seen one of the purple heathens pregnant before. How long has she been carrying the baby?

Reply

4everSones -

Yes, collecting duplicate science collectibles gives you tech points. As for the heathen mommy, it does occasionally turn out to be a woman, but usually it's a guy.

Meredith -

As for honoring, find someone who has at least a small amount of talent at it and check their honoring bar, they will usually start doing it on their own. The Jenga trophy needs a building that is not completely constructed. Earthquakes will not bring down a completed structure.

Reply

Im trying to get fish but when i drag a person to the lake it says they can see no signs of life here? Do I need a level 3 of something?

Reply

GrinnyP,

She's been carrying the baby for over 24 hours real time now. But, I can still challenge her, I tried last night, so I'm curious to see what happens when I convert her. I'm just waiting to get enough energy to get the time warp godly power so I can win the challenge and see what happens to her and the baby.

Reply

Also, regarding using the Revive power on dead villagers - it won't work if you have your population maxed out. I tried and the "soul" cam back to body, but the skeleton stayed put and then got carrier off by the villagers.

I have converted all the purple heathens but now I have a mask left sitting near the hot springs......I havent completed the necklace....is there something that I have missed???

Reply

Allyson -

It's a good thing that you can still do the challenge, because as long as she has that mask on she won't let go of the baby. Have you noticed that the heathens don't age? Rascal, for instance, that oranged-masked nuisance, stays a kid until she is converted, while all around her your villagers are aging and dying. Until they drop the masks, those heathens are immortal! :-)

MandaJA -

No, you haven't missed anything. That mask is there for a reason. You can drop a villager on it and you will see the Master Farmer's story again.

Tazer -

The piece of the necklace should be near the aqueduct where the masked heathen was before they converted.

Have you converted all 4 of the purple masked heathens? Have you checked closely in the areas where they were before they were converted? Sometimes if you are having someone take the necklace piece back to the statue they get startled by a red or orange guard and drop the necklace piece.

Meredith -

That's what is left of the village of the heathens.

Leanda -

Rascal, like all of the orange masked heathens, usually can only be converted with earthquake power, which comes very late in the game. Occasionally there's an island event that can convert the orange masks, but usually you have to wait for the earthquake power.

Anthony2816 February 17, 2011 4:32 AM

Well, my game has been pretty much ruined.

I made it, say, two-thirds of the way through it, but now I have an orange-masked kiddie (with the appropriately named skill of "Rascal" disrupting everything I try to do.

He never leaves the area just below the statue, no matter how many of my population I remove from the are.

If I try to finish the statue to its highest level, he disrupts the builders.

If I try to get more food from the farm or berry bush, he makes the farmer drop their food.

If I get the children to get more relics, he intercepts them and makes them drop them.

If I get the children to get more science items, he interceptsmore than half of them and makes them drop them.

So that's pretty much the end of the game for me. I've finished most of the puzzles, but I can't (1) finish the statue, (2) increase my energy, (3) feed my population, and I can (4) barely increase my tech points.

Great game.

Hi guys, I have an idea about the Jenga trophy!!!

When you have the clothing hut and click on it, it says completion 100% right? it never says it finishes no matter what, so I think Last Day of Work thought about people taking a while to get the earthquake power. If you use earthquake on the clothing hut, I think it will reset the progress... Tell me if this works because I don't have the earthquake yet.

Help me!! I cannot get any of my builders to master! I have one, but he is getting old and I am really afraid that he is going to die before I can get the second one and tear down the blocking totem! I have built 2 cabins, the love shack and the clothing shack, and upgraded the hand. I don't have enough tech points to get third degree building power so I can upgrade again. I am fixing the shacks over and over and over and he keeps improving and going up levels but not to master! It's driving me crazy! Is there anything else I can do?

Reply

Anthony2816 -

There are two ways to deal with Rascal. The first is to trigger the butterfly powers somewhere far away from the statue. All of the children, including Rascal, will chase the butterflies and you can then put all of your builders on the statue. The other way is a trick that will "lock" Rascal. Pick up a nursing mother and drop her near Rascal. When Rascal chases her, pick her up then quickly hit the "M" button on your keyboard while you simultaneously drop her. If you do this right, she and Rascal will "freeze" in place and you can get things done.

I have had one guy fixing the huts over and over for hours of real time, and he keeps improving and going up levels, but I CANNOT get him to Master. My other master is going to die before he becomes a master. Also I have already improved the hand (he did it entirely by himself, and only went up like a cm on the scale!) and I don't have enough tech points to get level 3 construction so he can polish the hand. I am going to quit if something doesn't happen soon!

If you have 90 villagers and the orange and red heathens still haven't been converted, you can convert them and it will bring your tribe numbers up to 100, at least until someone dies of old age. If you complete both collections, it will up your maximum population and then you can get to 100.

Michelle -

As you solve puzzles and up your technology life gets more comfortable, especially if there's enough food. Once that happens, their faith usually goes up.

Zebra -

And you are still not getting any percentage of teardown at all? What level are your technologies?

There are a couple of ways. One is an island event that might randomly make one of your children a master devotee. The other (and easier) way is to get an adult to master devotee status then de-age them to a child.

Once you have the lake filled, you need the resurrect power to bring the fish back to life. When you have the resurrect power use it on the lake and voila, fish!

The Mausoleum that you have to unbury is where the dead villagers go.

Someone asked a while ago what makes the villagers drop the babies once they get stuck in the neverending nursing cycle. Here's some insight. It has to do with how many villagers you have. You would think that as long as the you had less than the max of 90 that they would start dropping them, but it wasn't until I got to under 80 villagers that they started dropping them (I maxed out at 101 once I converted all the heathens). So, if you want them to drop the babies, start letting your villagers die without reviving them and don't impregnate anyone new. I am at 75 villagers now and have eight nursing mothers. When I went from 76 to 75, one of them started counting down.

When your lightning recharges, use it to drive the guards away from the hungry totem again and then finish tearing it down. You should be able to get to the bush to get berries. In the meantime, hunt for mushrooms with your children. That will help to stretch the food supplies.

It is indeed a skull. Unfortunately, they can show up almost anywhere. They won't show up in the lake, but that's about it.

Help????? -

That depends upon the speed you are playing the game. If you are playing in "fast" mode, it's about 2 hours. At "normal" speed it's about 4 hours.

I only have 314 energy and I have only the purple masked builder to convert, all the red and orange heathens, the chief, the last stage of the statue, and to get the time warp and revive power
Is the only way I can up my energy by having all my females have babies?

I contacted LDW about the lack of progress on the Pain Totem. They told me to switch my game speed to slow. The progress finally started showing up, and five tries later, the Pain Totem was down! That's the first time where fast has been a disadvantage.

I have converted all of the blue masks, but I can't use the earthquake power to convert the others because I can't have enough villagers. I have the max of 90 which only gives me 796 energy. Can anyone tell me what I can do? Thanks!

Ok guys, there have been 2 women I granted youth to. They were esteemed elders and it was easier to make them young and have them teach in the nursery then to try and keep up with making new elders after all the puzzles were solved. Problem...They both have been impregnated and have stayed that way. They both have been nursing these babies for 20 game years. Does anyone know how to fix this bug? LOL

Yes, more villagers gives you more energy.

Have you done the third stage of the statue? How many of the statue collectibles do you have? The more complete your collection is, the more possible energy you have.

Shawna -

This is unfortunately a bug that comes with the de-aging. They will carry those children until they hit the age they were when you de-aged them.

if you dont do the lab one yet the red guys don't go over to the cave so you can put your builders there to get them to master. that way you can do the blocking one too

I'm just new to this chat room so bear with me. Who is the "mommy"heathen? I've looked at all my heathens and none of them say mommy anything.

To do Puzzle 5, when I drop my my Master Scientist on the broken aqueduct the "action" line under the person just says,"broken aqueduct". The master scientist doesn't take any action to start the farm. What do I do?

Just to let those who don't know that when you drop your Master Scientist onto the "broken aqueduct" it should be on the broken pieces of wood to the left of the platform the crying purple heathen is sitting on and you only need the Master Scientist not the Master Builder too. The aqueduct goes up very, very fast. Thank God for the "Hand of Bloom."
