Lol got to the second lock in the mirror, got bored and started playing Mario theme music on it.

do you listen to the chrrey blossem music box for the passcode? where is the missing spring for it?

Reply

I finished the marble puzzle got the robot to find the disk - have a code on the crystal ball - what is the little remote from the marble game for?

Reply

... nevermind

forgot about the book

Reply

Teonis - It's not the song in the musicbox. There is another song that you already heard...

Craig - on the bed side view there is another screen to the ceilling

Reply

got it - i still dont know how to get to the top drawer, the safe or the mirror - tv antenna?

Reply

i havent played that song since i first learned how to play piano

Reply

Sorry, Craig - it's not the screen with the bed, it's the one left of that one, with the empty wall.

Maybe there are three songs for the second lock in the mirror... but i don't know how to work the musicbox too.

Reply

Hi all, first time posting. A great site, Jay, and "My diamond baby" was definately hard. The problem often lies in going back to places you already clicked on, because there might be something more. As to the puzzles, just keep at em. They get solved eventually. The pearl one: work in a spiral, either clock or counter clockwise.

Reply

I can't seem to get the buttons on the safe to put in the code. I click on them and they only turn yellow for a moment. Do I have to do something else before I try imputing the code?

Reply

Grace - it's all about the order in wich you press the buttons. You need to do the puzzle in the drawer by the bed...

Anyone figured out the second lock on the mirror?

Reply

Are you talking about the puzzel in the drawer? Because that's not what I'm talking about. I already finished that one. I'm talking about the one behind the monitor tucked in that little nook.

Reply

OOOOOH! Nevermind. I thought that they would highlight or something. So nevermind. :P

Reply

Ok, i ran out of ideas for the third song of the music lock on the mirror... I've even tried to use the music sheet on that book (and it's not that easy for someone who isn't used to reading music) but it didn't work... If anyone can help, i'm all hears.

Hint - if at any time you feel frustrated in this game, try hitting the pillow repeatedly... it really helps!

Reply

Gooood game.

Craig- to get through the mirror, you need to open the top drawer. to open the top drawer, you may need to close something you've previously opened... + then look underneath it.

Braz - the second lock on the mirror requires using the three songs that you heard throughout the game, including the music box.

Reply

Thanks, Nar. Just finished (lame ending...). I don't remember hearing any music other than the tv and the musicbox. The third music is score written in that book beside the tv but the last two notes are wrong (i checked three times)wich pisses me off a bit because it took me a while to get the notes... Other than that i think it's a very good game, one of the best i played of this kind.

Anyway, can you tell me where you hear the third song in the game, please. I'm curious now...

Reply

I CANT GET THE GAME ENGINE TO start any help?

Reply

braz; don't forget that sharps and flats carry over thoughout a measure!

That being said, I think I put the music box song in correctly, but got no love.

Reply

ok, how do i get the powercord from behind the desk? whenever i try to click on it the red arrow pops up and take me back out.. do i need other items 1st? i have the knife and the torch left and no clue wot i do with them :s

Reply

ok correction, it's a spatula that looks remarkably like a torch lol

Reply

I am stuck at the sliding puzzle. I don't think i will be able to get it, im horrible at them.

Reply

Well i should ask what color do i start with and where ,and wat color do i end with.

Reply

For the sliding puzzle: The easiest solution is to screen print and then paste the image into some paint program, so you can unscramble the image into what it 'should' like. It helps you at least figure out what the end result should be, as it isn't obvious from the start.

Reply

Personally, I think this is one of the best "room" games I've ever played...the best, in fact. The ending, coupled with the actually *challenging* puzzles, made it a very fun experience.

Reply
EvilHayama August 24, 2005 11:56 PM

I did all those puzzles, only to be undone by my lack of audio and tone-deaf ears. I cheated for the final puzzle. Great game, only marred by the usual nigh-invisible clicky spots that come with these games. Also, the magically appearing key under the marble puzzle... erg.

Reply

I found this game both easier and harder than most point and click adventures.

Easier, in that it seemed to be more logical than usual in what you did with various objects that you found, but harder to solve some of the individual puzzles.

The last puzzle was the worst, it about drove me nuts. It reminded me of that horrible spaceship puzzle in Myst.

I really enjoyed the ending though. Cheesey but nice too.

Reply

I still can't find the A/V cable.. and I haven't unlocked the second computer, either. I do have numbers and letters on the wall, though, but the color safe has me stumped. help please?

Reply

ok scratch that. how do you fix the music box?

Reply

Can someone teach me how to work the TV?

Reply

I can't even get the game to start loading - I click on play, the new window opens up, but the panel where it should load just stays white. Do I need to download some program first? Everything else I've ever clicked on from Jay's site has worked.

Where is the spring? How do I work the tree?

Reply

The last 2 notes were not wrong. F# and A flats throughout the whole bar.

Reply

I finished the game yesterday, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to figure out the music puzzle with out cheating. Do you need to know how to read notes or something? I read above that someone started playing Mario theme music on it? How is that?

Reply

Karina, you need to know the notes. If youwatch carrefully, you will see on the left white and and black circles. they represent a kewboard of the piano. the notes (starting from the bottom) are Do, Do#, Re, Re#, Mi, Fa....
For the blue bar, I figured it out from the music magazine... But I cannot seem to discover the patern for the other two... Although I studied piano and I played the melodies from the music box and the TV...

I'll keep trying I guess

Reply

One more question: I have the formula from the medicine bottle and the letters scratched from wall. I did use the bottle, but didn't use the formula and the letters. Am I supposed to do something with them?
Thanks

Reply

How do i put in the graphics disc and where is the startup thing?

Reply

That game made my brain hurt.

All the marks on the walls (and in the tv) are connected to solve one specific puzzle.

Reply

Okay. I give up. I am trying to open the green spotted safe. I assumed that the marble's arrows were either pointing at the dot to press or enclosing the correct dots, but I obviously had a lobotomy earlier this morning. I give up.

Reply

Damn, that was a long game, but yet a good one. I shall make a walkthrough if it is needed. :)... The ending was beautiful... yet to finish the game, I needed somewhat of a music knowledge... and it wasnt going good for me... :)
Hope everyone makes it... and WATCH the ending :)

Reply

i REALLY can't understand the color puzzle.
how exactly do you match the number chart with the letter chart, and how does it connect to the colors?
please help, i'm really stumped.

hi i am fed up with second lock in the mirror

:)

Reply

I can't get past the key under the bed. I clicked on it with the iron rod so many times that my finger hurts! Why won't the key come out??! =(

Reply

Great game! Hard but entertaining. Took me 1 hour and 48 minutes and 35 seconds!

Reply

how do you enter the code for the safe? I cant get it to work?

Reply

Finally!! That took me more than 2 hours. And I was supposed to be working with my new song.

That music-box was kind of hard. You only need 6 notes for it. a-a-b-a-a-b.

Hint: There's a videotape somewhere in the darkness of a drawer.

Reply

hint: ROYGBP are not just random letters, think of the rainbow - richard of york... although the 'pink' at the end is slightly unorthadox

The colors is a mapping that uses four items: the "number circle" to the "number grid" to the "letter grid" to the "color circle." If you don't have all four parts then keep looking.

First you take, for example, the top position of the color circle. How to decide what color it should be? First, the top of the "number circle" will give...well, a number. Now look that number up on the "number grid". Now look at the letter that is in the same position, but on the letter grid instead of the number grid. That is the first letter of the color you need on top of the color circle. So if you end up with a "B", you make the top of the color circle blue. If you get a Z or Q or whatever, then you know you are doing something wrong.

Finally, repeat with the other 5 positions on the color circle, and when you are done and have all the colors right, it will slide open to give the next puzzle: the music puzzle.

Partial walkthrough...

First, behind the computer desk is the wires..click the wires and plug it in at the bottem of the computer. Go to where the closet is, and get the middle silver thing which is the iron rod..go under the bed and click the key..go back to the closet and click the box..after you click it, it should be open..get the black thing at the bottom..which are disks for the computer...go to the bed and click the pillow and get the key under there then beside the bed is a little stand with a telescope..with the key you got under the bed, unlock the drawer to the stand beside the bed..then go to the dresser thing the TV's on and theres a red thing somewhere..click that then go back the the computers. click the screw driver at the top of the screen then clci the tower of the computer with the red screw driver, when it unclocks take the green disks at the top and put them in..then turn the computer on and go the the set of draws..unlcok the middle one with the key you found under the pillow. click the pensil in the middle draw and go back to the beds..at the foot of the bed keep clciking until youre between the bed and the other thing..click the msall key and go to the TV stand again..theres a small plastic box..click the key at the top of your screen then clcik the small plastic box..when it unlocks, theres a small folded paper..go back the the stand with the microscope on it and set the paper down on the stand. click the pencil then click the paper with the pencil..there should be a code on it. write down the code somewhere then go back to the computer and turn it on. go to the TV place and get the printing paper and put it in the printer..now that you turned the computer on, theres a blue screen and a place to enter the code. enter the code you wrote down then click print. when it printes theres a piece of paper...take that out of the printer and go to the picture frame looking thing with the purple thing in the right hand corner. clcik it then put the paper in..it turns into the slide puzzle. go back to thee computer tower and get the pciket knife that's in it then go back to the slide puzzle and dig a peice out. try to complete it, even though I havent completed it yet..but
here's a picture
of it completed.

ok, if you cant complete it go back to the stand with the microscope in it and go in the draw and play the marble game. to play all you have to do is have 2 white ones in and a black one and make them skip each other. kind of like chinese checkers. when you complete it,you get a crystal and a doll. put the crystal in the telescope and then go back to the slide puzzle and work on it until you complete it-when im done ill put more up.

More help...

List of things you need to get: LOCATION, PURPOSE

1) Screw: TV Cupboard, for opening the PC.

2) Print Paper: TV Cupboard, for putting into the printer

3) Big Key: Under the pillow, for opening the drawer in the middle

4) Green board: In the box called AHI, for putting into the PC

5) Rod: Under the AHI box, for getting the key under the bed

6) Cutter: Inside the PC, for cutting the line picutre

7) Cable: Behind the drawerS, connecting to the bunch of cables

8) Decoated Key: Under the bed, for opening the drawer next to the bed

10) Small key: In the gap next to the TV cupboard, for opening the little wooden box

11) Folded paper: Inside the wooden box, for placing onto the table next to the bed, and then use the pencil to draw on it.

12) Printed Paper: from the printer, for putting onto the board on the wall with a ball and squares.

13) Purple ball: from the line puzzle, for putting on the cable in the gap next to the TV cupboard

14) Crystal ball: from the marble game in the drawer, for putting into the microscope

15) Controller: from marble game, for turning the fan on at the ceiling

16) Doll: from the marble game, for putting to the vent

17) Big key No.2 : from the ceiling fan, for opening the bottom drawer

18) Knife(?): I forgot.... for peeling the wallpaper under the vent

19) Floppy: from the purple ball and the cable, for putting into the PC and turning on the safe behing the drawers

20) A chemical: from the safe, for splashing to the invisible picutre on the wall (where there is a hook)

21) CG drawing: from the bottom drawer, for putting to the hook on the wall

25) Video cable: from the top drawer when you look at the back of it (open the top drawer, then look at the safe), connects to the TV

26) Halved key: Under the pillow (I couldnt find it, but it's OK if you know the song 'Sakura', the traditional japanese song), put it to the music box (pink tree).

::NOTICE::

**When you look at the crystal with the microscope, the sign is upside down and the direction is reversed. that's the code for the safe;

**At the end after you break the mirror, the code will be the one if you combine the glowing numbers (when you turn the light off), the glowing characters (when you peeled the wallpaper and looked at the it in the dark) PLUS the video with 'Twinle little stars' as the BGM. That's very difficult indeed! Try to look at the glwoing numbers in clockwise and remember the order, then look at the video for the the numbers and their characters, then look at the glwoing characters. it will be P(Pink), B(Blue), R(Red), G(Green), O(Orange), Y (Yellow). Then try to arrange the colour like the numbers told you.

**After you passed the colour arrows puzzle, try to make the musical notes like 'Sakura', that's 'DO' at the bottom and so on. And 'Twinkle little star' the second and 'Andes' the third.

Help please! I'm totally stuck at the safe.

I know that someone on here said that I should look at it upside down and in reverse, but it's not working. I read in another walkthrough to just input it upside down, but that didn't work either. Should I do a mirror image of it as well?

I'm very frustrated and confused right now. I don't want to close the game since I've come so far. Is there a bug with the game itself?

Reply

I can not for the life of me figure out how to do the slide game. I've been moving peices for days on end and can't get it to line up. I even looked at a cheat screen to see what the end result is, but I can't work it. Any help at all??? PLEASE!!!!

Reply

KellyMac:

I did the slide game last night. It took forever, and from my experience there isn't really a pattern.

I think a lot of people get stuck when they find that sometimes putting in a new piece means moving again some of the already assembled pieces. They're reluctant to move the assembled pieces for fear of messing it up or because they feel it's destroying some of the work they've done. But the thing is that sometimes you HAVE to move those assembled pieces again. I had to do it several times when I did the puzzle.

But basically, I started off from the upper right and got halfway down the middle when I realized that I had to then start on the lower left because those pieces would be hard to manipulate if I left them for last. I eventually ended up finishing in the middle. I'm sure that there are plenty of other ways of doing it.

Good luck!

Now if someone would help me with the stupid safe...I've tried all the suggestions and none of them work!

Reply

I figured out the safe! It turned out that I was missing a piece of the code the whole time! I never saw it until just now! Duh!

Reply

Ok, now I'm in front of the final safe. For the life of me, I don't get it.

I understand that music is the main key to opening it, but I don't see how it works. Someone mentioned using a spring to turn on the pink music box on the desk but I can't seem to find a spring.

Can someone please help me out?

Reply

Never mind, I've beaten the game (with the help of some walkthroughs)!! Yay! I'm the 112497th person to complete it, and I did it in 14:56:05 hours (but you have to subtract about 8 hours from that since I went to bed last night and left the game on).

Major spoilers here, so don't click on the Spoiler tag unless you want to know the ending!

Very cute ending. I stared for a few seconds at the image of the guy and girl's hand wondering why the scene isn't changing when I realized- DUH! Put the ring on her!
I like how during the credits they showed the real room that inspired the virtual room. They look exactly the same, except that the real room is more cluttered. But I'm confused...this is a Japanese game. Why does the house and the neighborhood look more Western? I reckon the house and neighborhood are in a section of Japan with new developments- more Western looking houses and such.

Anyway, I'm gonna get back to reality now :)

SOLUTION SAFE BEHIND PC DESK:

Write the code down you found on the marble under the microscope.

Than turn your page where the code is written...

I used arrows to show better.. it worked :) easily. Now i am stuck at the color code after i hit the mirror with the hammer.
Also found the videotape but no cable of it...
And looking in all the answers here is a lot hehe

sheeks - the cable is in a gap between the wall and the desk, to get there face the tv/and bed, then click at the point where the bed and the tv cupboard meet (measured on the screen it's about an inch from the window) - you'll also find a key there
