i really have no idea how to poison the meat

every time i put the meat down the dog eats it
and i try to put the bottle on it and nothing ever happens

please help

SPOILER for silencing the dog...

(as Jack mentioned above, you don't poison the dog, you give him a powerful liquor that must put him quietly to sleep for a while)

1) click on the plate
2) click on the magnifying glass
3) click on the meat
4) click on the bottle
5) go outside where the dog is barking
6) click on the plate with meat (if not already selected)
7) click on the dog's dish

Help! I cant find any keys, and I dont know what to do to get back into the house after putting the dog to sleep with the drugged meat. Ive looked around and cant find any keys, or any other doors for that matter.

to rephrase that, I cant find any keys to get back into the house.

Can someone please tell me where the pink key is. I have the rod the, paper, the lighter, three keys and I do not know where to go from here. Thank you!

Sorry, Darren. I intended to answer your question earlier, then got sidetracked. The RIT servers are giving me a problem today.

The pink key should be on the landing as you go up the stairs after you have silenced the dog.

You will need to re-enter the code at the front door to get back in.

Alright, so that pulsing eye in the loading screen is creeping me out..........

ok, I figured it out, I was typing the wrong numbers into keypad to get in, got the phone cord and 3 more keys (Pink, dark orange, and the one that gets you knocked out when you try and use it) got the diary off the shelf and found the code, but where in which bathroom do I find the keypad to enter the code into?

I've had no problems getting stuck until now. Can someone please give a bit more of a hint at how to figure out the order of the keys. I keep doing everything I can think of involving the statue and turning off the lights and clicking on the keys. My impression from earlier hints is that it might have something to do with the statue's eyes. Please give a bit of help. Thanks.

When you enter the code into the keypad on the right wall, it opens to reveal an indentation into which you put the statue. Then, when the lights are turned off, the eyes of the statue beam colors onto the star in the order that the keys must be placed.

I am stuck with the old man. I have already placed the keys and the figurine in the bathroom and I now have the black envelope thing. I gave the old man water but he won't take the black envelope thing or the diary! Thanks in advance for help!

Ok, I put the dog to sleep ages ago and have gotten pretty far in the game. I saw the hint earlier about the statue being in/around the bush outside the grey door. I have been clicking all over that bush and I still cannot find it.

Darren - the skeleton key you have opens the bathroom door in the room behind the grey door, which is the same room in which you found the key.

Click on the key so it's highlighted in your inventory, then click on the door to unlock it. Click again on the door to enter.

i just finished giving the man the water, i have the statue, i have no clue what any of you are meaning by the "order of he keys" or the "black envelope"

you have to wait a while for it to load at the main screen before clicking start or else you cant do anything

This is one is pretty easy for me. I think knowing Madarine Chinese helped a lot, at least shorten the play time.

So I can get into the house, + I can find the lighter. That's it. No keys... + the only two rooms open are the bathrooms. Is there something I should be finding in the black bathroom? What about keys to get into the other rooms? What am I not seeing?

P.S. I can see the key across from the grey door.. the one on the window sill. I just cannot figure out how to get to that window from outside. Which window is it?

Bry - have you found the long metal curved bar yet? Look by the car. Use that to get the paper airplane out of the tree. That should help you get inside the house.

Tammy - click on the man, then hook up the phone (it's in another room) and try to make a call.

I noticed a little bug in the game - if you play it again, the keys will be in the keyholes in the safe. You can take them out, and now you have two sets of keys! ;o)

Behind the Green door, there's two ways you can go. One way leads you to the meat, and the other way is where you find the plate and the liquor.

I'm not sure which key in the window sill you are referring to. Have you been in the room behind the red door with the 2 handles yet?

Hi Vron,

When I first started playing, I was using my inventory list incorrectly - maybe you are doing the same thing. Just highlight the key and then click on the door. Don't try to use the key while it's in the magnified view.

When the door unlocks, it makes a little unlocking sound, then you have to click on the door AGAIN to enter.

If you still can't open any of the doors, make sure that you have completely gone through the entire house. The first door is set a little apart from the rest.

I cannot figure out how to put the objects together (meat plate and liquor) to silence the dog! I read someones instructions but did they leave something out? I magnify the plate and lickc the meat but the meat does not go onto the plate. nothing happens.

Try it like this:

1. Click on the plate, and then magnify it.
2. Click on the meat, and then on the plate. (don't magnify the meat!)
3. Click on the bottle, and then on the meat.

That should do it. Now you should have the liquored up meat on the plate, ready to feed to the poor, unsuspecting doggie....

Although I feel a bit unsatisfied as I did not get into the green door (next to the orange door) at the very top of the house. I see that others have this same problem. WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE WRITE A WALKTHROUGH???!!!???

Grab the stick by the garage wall. Use it to pull the paper airplane from the tree, unfold and read to get the entry code. Enter through the blue door.

Go through the yellow door and pick up the lighter (partially hidden behind the pipe). Walk upstairs and through the greyish door into the other bathroom. Take the key on the paper holder.

That key lets you enter the lounge (bottom floor, boring grey-blue door). Take the grey key from the vase and exit. Unlock the grey door for a cutscene.

Take the skeleton key from the floor (bottom right). Enter the bathroom. Take the somewhat green key from behind the fixtures. Exit twice to get back to the hallway and see another cutscene.

Your newly acquired rotting vegetables-colored key opens the kitchen, at the foot of the stairwell. Enter, go left, light the candle in the window. Take a piece of meat. Double right for a cutscene.

Take a plate and the spice bottle. Put the meat on the plate (plate + inspect [magnifying glass]), click the meat. Click the bottle to spice it up.

Exit through the kitchen door and kill the dog (meat + whatever is supposed to be right of the front door). Enjoy the silence. Double right to pick up the little statue that used to be in the lounge. Left, and enter the house again.

Halfway up the stairs you'll find the pink key. This opens the kitchen (double doors). Click the pot of whatever to your left, get a glass and fill it. Walk out the kitchen entrance (left door) to get the dark blue key.

Use this key to open the blue door at the top of the stairs. As a reward for getting this far, you get hit in the head and wake up behind the grey door. I can only assume that the chinese characters at the bottom of the screen at this point reads "WTF!?". Oh, and your inventory is gone.

Return to the kitchen and walk through the kitchen entrance. Cutscene, dead guy. Take his bag and inspect it to get your inventory back. So there. Now, what were we doing?

Exit and walk through the blue door. Start by checking the bookshelf above the couch (you want the big leather-bound diary). Walk right and onto the balcony to get the somewhat orange-brownish key). Left. Click the door to get a somewhat confusing birds-eye view. Click the left part of the building to get the orange key by the chimney. Return to the hallway.

The smudge-colored key gets you into the room next to the blue one. Nothing to do here except to grab the extension cord. Back out.

The bright orange key gets you through the orange door that's currently behind you. You'll find yourself in a bedroom. Walk onto the balcony for a cutscene. Must be Stanley, right? Give him the drink and put him to bed.

Now go into the bathroom and touch the mirror. Cutscene. A panel just appeared on the right wall. Read the diary for the code (18668798, I don't think this changes). Enter it for another cutscene. Put the statue in the slot.

Now what? Turn off the light. Insert keys as indicated (starting at 12 o'clock, going clockwise: blue, orange, green, grey, dark blue, pink. Nondescript brownish in the center.)

Cutscene. Grab the file. Now to finish the game.

Walk downstairs and through the grey door. Use the extension cord on the phone. Click around until you find the ID card under the telephone (I eventually gave up and right clicked). Enjoy ending.

interesting game, however, I almost made it to the end but cannot find the ID card, I have clicked everwhere under the phone where i see a little piece of a paper but nothing happens. Has anyone else have this problem? any suggestions? thanks

ok..stuck..tried using hints from comments and it's not working...can't get the meat to go onto the plate, and can't figure out how to do the bottle thing either...tried this several different ways and I'm stuck...HELP!!!

Try this:
1. Click on the plate in your inventory.
2. Click on the magnifying glass.
3. Click on the meat in your inventory. (Do NOT click on the magnifying glass!!!)
4. Click on the plate. (now you should see the meat on the plate.)
5. Click on the bottle in your inventory.
6. Click on the meat. (now the meat should appear a brownish color.)

Now you're all set to put the meat into the dog's bowl.

HELP. I am really stuck, I gave the old man a drink but he wouldn't take the file and I connected the phone wire and clicked all around the phone and nothing happened, please some one help orI will go bonkers. Ta

I followed the walkthrough that Stanley kindly provided and when I was trying to insert the keys in the bathroom, the keys didn't seem to be cooperating. I tried clicking on the slots in order, even though nothing was happening just to be sure, and still, nothing. Could anyone help with this? Thanks in advance.

And I forgot to mention that I did turn the bathroom lights off too.

vron - I know this may sound stupid, but are you sure you gave the man a drink?

Do you still have the cup in your inventory?
If so, then you have to fill the cup with water BEFORE giving it to him. Then your cup will disapear from your inventory list, and he'll take the file.

dis game is scary when you play it at night(12:00pm) i almost beat the game but the internet line kinda got tangled and when i moved my foot Zap.. i got so mad!! i used the sisors to cut the inter net line in haf i bought another 1 the next day... any wayz nice game..

I absolutely love your site, and I am addicted to these kinds of adventure games. I usually don't get stumped like this, and I read over all the comments to try and find the answer. I cannot seem to combine things in my inventory. I followed all of the steps exactly. Is there a possiblity that I have the wrong flash player or something? Magnifying the plate and then clicking on the meat does absolutely nothing. I feel very silly right now.

Ha. I was silly. I misunderstood; I was clicking on the inventory BAR, not the magnified item itself. I need to get more sleep!

Kayla - The walk through above is a little misleading in this part.

After you get knocked out - Don't go back into the kitchen, instead go back to the red room with the double handles. This is the one with the water pitcher and the cup.

From there, go out the side door. There's your dead guy. :-)

Louise - Are you in the kitchen? If so, you should gather the meat, plate and liquor as described in the walkthrough above.

Where do you find the papers for the old man and where do you put the minkey and how do you find the diary.

I've played this game a few times now, just because I like it, and I was wondering if there is a way to get the green door, that is next to orange door, open. The game can be solved without it, but I'm just curious about what might be inside.

Kwtony - you need the diary to find the papers and where to put the statue. Click on any book shelves that you see to find the diary.

Tyno - as far as I know, none of us have been able to get that darn green door open! Maybe there will be a Stanley's House part 2, revenge of the monster hiding behind the green door...

Stanley/jay/dr.stanley's house players- in Stanley's walkthrough (which did help me!) I must ask a question:

Walk right and onto the balcony to get the somewhat orange-brownish key). Left. Click the door to get a somewhat confusing birds-eye view. Click the left part of the building to get the orange key by the chimney. Return to the hallway.

When I pick up the orange-brownish key, where do I click left??? I am stuck on the balcony like a bad honeymoon. Eeeee!!! Please help before I have to jump off of it! Yikes!

This is a great game. But I seem to be having problems with combining the meat + plate + bottle. I've tried clicking different combos and nothing works. Including the ones specified above.
If it worked for everyone else but me, I would normally assume it was the fact that I use a mac, and everyone else probably uses windows. But the game works fine up to that point. And I tried all 3 of my browsers (safari, IE + firefox), but no luck there either.
So, unless one of you smart people can figure out what the problem is, I guess I won't be enjoying this game anymore... :(

how do you get out of the kitchen i have a bottle and a plate then the door knob came off and i cant get out

I'm not sure that I solved to game. When I finally got the card under the phone the old man died....and then the game ended. Was that supposed to happen? Someone please tell me, I have been on this game for 2 days.

fun game (and fantastic site!) but after 15 minutes of clicking on that dang phone to get the ID card I gave up. to see the stupid thing and not be able to get it, one step from the end, kind of bites.

Firstly, can I say what a great site this is! No more sleep for me...ever...
Now, I'm wondering if someone can help me, I am in the kitchen with my spiced meat but I cant get out. The door handle has come off. I've tried using all the keys and the wooden rod thingy but nothing works.
