Thanks to FunnyMan for the potions "cheatsheet" and Pam for the awesome guide!
Mmm... found out some things today.
I *think* the game can be paused when you are in the "Details" screen of one of your people.
Haven't tested it yet but I did take a long time writing down their details and no time passed by.
Whenever you place a building and immediately demolish it, the game will think it was "finished". Some examples of these are the popular Tower glitches and one I just found out now: when I placed the shipyard and demolished it immediately because I didn't like the position, the game gave me the Ark instead of the Shipyard to build. Restarting the game will give you the Shipyard again.
my shipyard is built but when I put a person on it nothing happens.
Pardon me for the question but what "pause" method of the game are you referring to that you say won't really pause it? Is it the "pause" in the Settings or the "pause" when you click the Map? Aside from the "Details" method which I haven't tested yet... I want to be sure because I'm currently addicted to Curse of Monkey Island and I'm worried of leaving my islanders to fend for themselves.
Nothing is supposed to happen if you drop a person on a completed shipyard. If you are trying to sail to another island, you have to build an ark after building the shipyard.
The game does pause when you go to the map, but it starts right back up again when you exit. If you want to pause the game while you are away, you need to do it in the Settings screen off the menu.
What exactly is it that causes a tribe member to die? Is it low physical strength? Just trying to figure out how to keep one of my tribe members alive for a super long time. :)
my technology level is in 3, but still can't build a shipyard or ark.
(in the "build", these icons are not available)
i'd like to sail to another island, somebody please tell me how to do this.
how long do you have to wait for someone to be able to drink another potion?
I just noticed something and maybe I am late to discover this, I don't know. But One of my people mentioned wanting flowers so I planted about 50 of them right at the front of camp. While I was having someone plant them I had 3 moondust and 5 stardust showup in the newly planted area. So I tried it again in another agre, a smaller patch of about 20 or so flowers this time and sure enough 1 moondust and 3 stardust fell right there while my tibesman was planting. Anyone else noticed anything like this?
They can die from various things, like starvation and natural causes. The way to get them to live a really long time is to give the youth potion -
You need level 3 Construction to build the shipyard and ark.
I haven't been able to determine exactly how long it has to be between potions, but I think it's at least an hour or two.
if you don't have the island with the fountain on it is there another way to make youth potion? thanks
You'll have to wait until you're on an island that has a fountain to make the youth potion.
Maybe it is that i am Dutch and sometimes still have some trouble with English, but maybe somebody can help me out with the levels.
On agriculture i got level 2, only i can't grow vegtables.
Also when i try to remove floors, i get the frame that the games wants to sart up again only i hear the soonds of where the game is left en when i go to settings and and save and exit i can go back ...
Theres any way to grow fast the points for constrution?
it was a blind spot!
my construntion level was still 2.
now I solved this problem, thanks a lot!
Hey guys try this island. It's very perfect.
thats the island code. The island is seperated into 3 so you can build the Towers and Wonders at the place that has the flower tree. I used the flower tree site as a graveyard. I have over 100 tombstones. I haven't moved to a new island yet and I don't like to make tombstones dissapear. The middle where there are many trees and rocks can have storage houses there.
You said: "Lodestone comes randomly in crates and barrels", i see the lodestone but it dont goes to my lab, why? i cant do it the potions with that...
To get loadstone for potions -
You'll discover lodestone in a crate or barrel after dropping someone on it. You'll get the message that the crate/barrel contains lodestone. After that, you'll have a quantity of 8 or so on your potions screen.
Extra moondust or startdust needed?
This is really cool: if you built a lunar tower or the other one, and delete it immediately, a few seconds later you will get an enormous shower of stardust or moondust!!! (lunar tower is for moondust, other tower is for stardust). Really helpful if you want buildings to comeplete faster, and you have no lodestone to make a builing potion. Moondust works perfectly, and you can always summon more!!!
I gave one of my people a potion that made all of the adults fall asleep standing up. I can make them wake up by moving them but they fall right back to sleep after a few seconds It's been an hour and they are still sleepy. Has this happened to anybody? If so, do they eventually snap out of it, or should I start over :(
I did the same thing with my tribe. It wears off and one by one, they go back to what they were doing.
Can someone please tell me how to get to different islands? I have been stuck for awhile now. Please help! :)
hi i can't seem to find the red rock or the moon shaped stone or the fossil rock. is it because the island doens't provide it or what am i missing?
Please check question #10 in the FAQ at the top of this page.
Please check question #12 in the FAQ at the top of this page.
I can't get the tribe to increase beyond 25. I have all levels except level 3 of arts. When I put one villager on another, it asks if I want them to have a baby but as soon as I click Yes, they walk away from each other. The youngest kids this have reached 12 years of age but I haven't been able to get any more kids in the meantime. Please help!
Maybe you don't have enough huts. They might not be able to make a baby if all the huts are occupied or if there's no room for any more people to sleep.
Thanks for the prompt response. I have five huts. Do I need more?
How do I make someone young? I don`t have a fountain as a mystery object.
I still haven't figured out how to reget the trophies once you reset them. I've tried gaining additional science points (so maybe it recognizes that I have lvl 3 in everything) and I've tried clicking on the mysteries I've solved, but no longer have trophies for. I even planted the orange/red flowers you only have when you solve that mystery, but it still doesn't give me the trophy again! Any suggestions?
I too noticed that some of my tribespeople die at 66, while others have lived to 72 or 73. So far, I haven't found a reason for this.
I have the fountain as a mystery and I dont know how to solve it. I can use it in my potion but not solve it. Why? Pease help.
I would think five huts would be enough. And you said you get the message that asks if you want them to have a baby? That means they're the right age and everything. Maybe just try exiting the game to reset everything. Then maybe try reinstalling the game.
To make someone young, you need to make a potion with the water from the fountain. If the fountain isn't on your island, you'll have to get it when you sail to a new one.
I don't know how you would be able to get the trophies again. Once something has been solved, you can't do it again, which would mean no repeat trophy.
You can find that answer in the walkthrough at the top of this page.
help please! I have read the walk through spoilers and I am having problems with the stone with the star and the also with the moon. I have used potions of stardust and moondust on the tribe. I then put them on the appropriate stone and I get a message, but it doesn't activate anything. I still cannot place the stardust on the stone and have anything happen. What am I missing?
I'll give you the instructions for the two stone mysterious objects and if it still doesn't work, please let me know exactly what it's doing.
Star Stone -
First put a Stardust (not a potion, just a plain Stardust from the upper left corner of the screen) onto an adult. Drop that adult onto the stone with the star. You then put Stardust (again, plain Stardust) onto the stone very quickly until the star is full. It takes about three Stardust if you do it fast enough. The level inside the star drops until you put more Stardust on it, so it has to be very fast. After you put enough Stardust on it, the star will be full and the mysterious object is solved.
Moon Stone -
It's exactly the same as the Star Stone, except put a Moondust (from upper right corner of the screen) on an adult. Drop that adult on the moon stone. Put Moondust on the stone very quickly, just like the star stone.
wow hey i've discovered this:
you can actually fooled the game that you've completed building something when in actual fact, u did not waste any time or labor or resources in building it!
here goes, first u try building it by placing it on a spot. then you just drag a villager to work on building it. once the villager has starting hacking it with an axe, click on the unfinished structure again and try to demolish it. it will take awhile for it to completely disappear. if u click on the structure again, it will show that the status of demolish is like probably 98% or so then u drag a villager to hack on it once more. after awhile the structure disappears and voila! the structure is 'thought' to have been completed by the game and u reaped the benefits immediately! example: the lunar tower, it immediately sends down a shower of moondust to commemorate the 'completed' building =D
of course i think its best u do this trick on buildings like the celestial tower or the lunar tower because they basically have no ongoing function where your people need to work at the building like the science station. Have only tried this with the lunar tower & also the Arc. For the arc its virtually useless cos though the game thought you have completed it, you still cant place a villager on the arc to start sailing it, lol.
Its probably a bug or something but hey, it totally works!
what do you do once you have solved all the mysteries?? im at a loss now on what to do
I Have not read everythign on here yet, so I dont know if the question has been answered or if you have figured it out. To speed up time, you have to close the game then go change your clock settings. I suggest only 4 hours a a time. Then open the game back up. Any babies will be 2 years old and your women can have more children. Just make sure you have people gathering food and wood or when you come abck they could starve. When you open the game back up and it loads your tribe change your clock back on your pc.
[Edit: I strongly advise against changing your computer clock. It can mess up the game as well as other functions on your computer. -Pam]
Hi! I have a huge problem, which is probably unsolvable, but I thought I might try and ask some more experienced players. I was gone for a whole week, and I forgot to put the game on pause. Now my population count is 1... they all died of different reasons... there is nothing I can do about it, is there?!
You can try to get all of the trophies and build all of the buildings. However, you will reach a point where there is simply nothing new left to do. Then you can either stop playing or continue to let it run and just fiddle around with it from time to time.
Hey people I've not been playing the game that much. Ok, alot lol! I'm on 547 minutes of play time in real life! It's a wicked and addictive game, but I do find it boring at the point I'm at. I've built what I can build, I got technology to level 3 and agriculture and level 2 then on the ova 2. But to spend so long now I want to play and progress but it's boring me because I can't sit there for ages and just wait for stars and moons to fall to add to my science points! Any idea what's best thing to do so I can actually progress?
I want to know if...
Would using the fast speed toggle and quitting the game then moving my clock forward be advised? any answers?
[Edit: Changing your computer clock is always a bad idea. It can mess up your game, as well as other functions on your computer.]
I'm afraid that tribe is done. You'll have to start it over and remember to use the pause button next time. :)
I'm so frustrated I could SCREAM! I recently got my tribe up to 50 members, and FINALLY maxed out my science points.. so last night I started my builders on a shipyard, saved my game and went to work. When I came home, I could load my 'new' tribe.. one i wanted to experiment with. But when I try to load my big tribe, the game completely freezes. Any ideas? PLEASEEEEE? lol
okay, I followed the directions given by pam for the stone with the star and it worked. I then tried the stone with the moon and when I put the moon dust on an adult nothing happens. I get the message that the moondust has no effect and was not used. Help!!!
Well bummer, I have tried the trick with the towers for a shower of dust like 5 times... nothing. Am I missing something?
There is a known bug that crashes the game after a few minutes of play. It happens when you have the sound on the game turned to zero. Check to see if that's the problem.
The Moondust will work. Try on another adult and make sure you are actually getting it on the person. It can be tricky when they are walking around. You might have accidently put the Moondust on something else.
You could just let the tower be built. You get a shower of dust then, too. And it keeps your people busy for awhile. Make sure you have plenty of wood selected for harvest so they don't starve while building the tower.
I have a couple of questions about the ark. First, if I move my tribe, will I be able to move them back to their first island? Second, what will happen to the people I don't take? And last, can I start new tribes on different islands while the one I have keeps going? Thanks!
Thanks Pam! I just skimmed through the faqs and didn't see anything about that. But you really help, and I am not stuck anymore!!! THANKS AGAIN! :)
Yes I am letting them build the towers, they are busy bees with 2 towers and an Ark to build.
I did read though that the max population is 50, I managed to get 51 I guess because the last person to have a baby had twins... naturally even, no fertility treatment (potion) used. But one of my people just died and since I still have 50 I can't make anymore. So when you get to 49 make someone have twins and you will get 51 people. Doesn't really help in any way, but I thought I would share.
This website is great!!! I got help when I played VV from this website too. I am curious, after you have over 60 of the guano and mushrooms is there any benefit to keep collecting them?
Also I thought when you go to another island all of your tribe goes there with you? I didn't see an option to leave some of the village behind.
I was unintentionally forced to be without my computer for several days, and when I returned, all my tribes (I had four) had lost almost all their members, but had very similar people remaining.
They all had a woman at about 52-4, a man at around 46-7, and a child (girl) at 10-12 of age. (They must somehow have gotten this child on their own, because the adult people were children when I last played the game.)
The adult woman is too old to have children, and by the time the girl is 18, the man will be too old too. What can I do? And why did it turn out identical with all four tribes? Is there a way to continue the population? Can we get random new (fertile)people arriving, like in Virtual Villagers?
PS: I don't have the ingredients to make a youth potion.
I have a question this time, What happens if they complete the tower while I have the game off? Will I still get the shower when I come back?
***sorry if this is a repeat, its not submitting
My kids and I play this game together and now that we have solved all the mysteries and trophies (over 200 now on the ages), we've decided to keep track of what islands we've been on and see how many we can get to. Once you do everything the game has given you to accomplish, sometimes you just need to set your own goals!
Another thing we've done is try to get one skin tone per island, which has proven challenging!
About leaving your island -
Yes, you can go back to your original island. Just make sure you write down its number. You can key in the number on the screen where you search for new islands. Everyone goes on the ark to the new island. You don't have the option to leave anyone behind. So, no, you can't have tribes on multiple islands unless you have multiple profiles.
The benefit of continuing to collect guano and mushrooms is that you will eventually run out if you are making potions with those ingredients. I go through a lot of mushrooms making youth potions. :)
Unlike Virtual Villagers, random people and/or babies don't show up in My Tribe. The best you can hope for is that the male stays fertile long enough for the child female to reach age 18.
If you are away when the tower is completed, you will get the stardust/moondust shower the very moment that you open the game.
I understand the pattern I need to leave to solve the flower puzzle, what I don't get is where to get the flowers!!! HELP! Please!
how can I find a fountain for use it in the science lab???
I can't get the fountain to work. I have did what has been said but it just says they will take a sample and research it but nothing else happens. What am I doing wrong?
You find flowers on the Build screen.
Please check the walkthrough guide for mysterious objects at the top of this page. You will find instructions for the fountain.
to Lady Trish...
Here's how to solve the Mystery Tree thingy.
First drop a legendary farmer (max. agriculture) onto the mystery tree. The mystery tree has a certain pattern of flowers around it. Plant new flowers of the right color at the correct "empty" space so the "circles" become complete. Just complete the Patterns.
My tribe have just moved to a new Island. I have them out fishing but no one has brought in a fish. we have vegetables and have built six huts but they all stand round starving and falling asleep . What am I doing wrong Help!!
[Edit: Do you have a fire built so they can cook food? -Pam]
Yes I have a fire They have to be put on the vegetables to harvest them
and no number show up on the food. 10 have now starved to death. don't know what to do.
Hi given up and started a new tribe 12 died of starvation even though there were 12 patches of crops. People went out to fish but didn't catch any. Then a new baby died
You need wood so they'd be able to cook their food in the fire pit and eat it.
I'm not sure why your tribe died. Make sure you have a skill checked on their details screen. They must have wood and a fire so they can cook their food. I've also seen that the fishing drops off as time progresses, perhaps because the ocean gets over-fished and it's time to move to a new island.
I hope you have better luck with the new tribe. :)
I have visited about 4 islands. I went to the last 3 because I needed the glowing stump. I looked for the islands with the stump and went there. On the map it shows the stump but when I went there and clicked on the map where the stump was suppossed to be it was not there the last three islands. When I go back to the map it shows it is there but it is not. Anyone else have this problem? I have finished all but 2 of the mysteries. I solved the star stump, the moon stump, the berry bush, the fountain, the fossil rock, the red rock, and the flower bush. It shows that I still need to solve 2 mysteries. I know one of them is the glowing stump which is suppossed to be on the island I am on but it is not. Which other mystery am I missing?
Thanks for your help everyone.
It sounds like you have completed seven of the eight mysterious objects. Usually, after completing the glowing stump, it won't appear on new islands. It will be just as you're describing... it's on the map, but not on the island when you click on it. However, that's only after it's been solved. Perhaps your game is reading it as already solved. Look on the map screen to the left and see if all eight circles are filled in.
could someone please help me, I am on my 4th island and my people won't do anything they just stand around, I have trees and rocks marked, and building and other things to build but they won't do anything. any suggestions?
Make sure you have a skill selected on the details screen of each person. If nothing is selected, they will just stand around and do nothing, unless you physically drop them on something.
its kind of like they are in a trance. but not sleeping? I don't know what to do.
all people are selected to do something specific but they wont
When you click on one of them, does it say "Sleeping on his feet" or something like that? There's a potion that will put the whole tribe to sleep on their feet and I'm wondering if maybe you accidently gave it to one of them. If so, they will eventually wake up one at a time and go back to their business.
Another thought. If you don't have something rather large to build (like a tower or the shipyard), they tend to stand around a lot. It's like a chain reaction. No building project, no need for wood or rock, nothing to do but stand around. Sometimes mine do that and as soon as I set down a tower to build, they scatter like ants getting busy.
If it's not either of these things and they all have preferences checked on their details screen, I can't think of what it might be.
thank you so much, but it is none of those things. Guess I will start a new tribe. again thank you
If the problem keeps happening and you are positive it's none of the things I've mentioned, please write to the contact email address at the bottom of this page and explain the problem. Be sure to include the name of the site where you purchased the game. We can probably get you a link for you to go straight to customer service for this problem.
I have been playing for awhile and keep looking for Guano and I can't find it I even looked at the screenshot to make sure that I was looking for the right thing. Any suggestions?
Here is a hint:
If you want you people to build, harvest, and fish faster
use the potion to increase physical strength - rocks rain relic - do this to every person in your tribe and if you need it to rain use potion fish sea star
I did this untill everyone in my tribe had a physical strength of 1oo. They do their chore super fast. Therefor I don't run out of supplies to quickly
I am ahead of myself, but I am building my shipyard, again, and I want to know where does the option to build the ark appear...I don't see anything in my build option for an ark. Does it appear after my shipyard is complete?
Taryn, yes you have to wait till the shipyard is finished.
I was on my 4th island, was on my way to an island that had the only mystery I was missing. I tried several times but every time I was sailing to the island the game cut off. I tried to repair it but it didn't work
All the work for nothing!!!
Good luck to everyone else.
Suggestion for guano: Keep looking. It comes and goes like the mushrooms. If you always keep an eye out for it when you're moving around the island, you'll find it.
The ark doesn't appear on the build screen until the shipyard is finished.
That sounds like one of the known bugs. When the game crashes, restart it and make sure that all of the saplings on your island are fully grown before you sail. Stardust will make trees grow to full size instantly.
I got my population to 51 by having a set a twins
This is a rather silly question :)
I like making the flower patterns but have only been able to find a few guano. Is there any way to increase the supply of guano? I have tried disturbing the gulls but to no avail.
Guano comes and goes randomly like the mushrooms. You can't create it or make it happen. Just keep an eye out for it as you move around the island.
could you help me with this: where can i get lodestone?
thanks for the help, i need this answer. thanks :)
Lodestone arrives in the crates and barrels, usually 8 units at a time. Just keep looking in the crates and barrels that wash up on shore and you'll get some sooner or later.
Was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to make a
golden child, as there is a picture of one on the opening screen.
I have tried getting 2 tribal legends (100% in everything) to have a baby and that hasn't worked.
Can someone help me?How do i get fountain water for potions?
OK well my tribe has two storage sheds for each and were never low on anything. I have solved the star mystery and I'm working on the moon mystery...But I'm getting too crowded. Is there any way I can move to another island? I know I have to reach technology level 3, but is there some cheat or fast way to do this? My population is 30 people and the island is so small that it's over crowded. Thanks in advance!!!
I didn't notice a golden child. What exactly do you mean?
Please check question #14 in the FAQ at the top of this page.
I'm afraid you're stuck on that island until you can sail away on the ark. However, you can create more space by demolishing some of those buildings. You don't need two of each of the storage huts. One of each is plenty. Also, how many sleeping huts do you have? With 30 people, you only need about three or four. I hope this helps. :)
I have a small problem (if you can call it a problem)
One of my tribe members passed away, only now i can't find the grave to put at the graveyard.
The only thing i haven't done yet is demolish building to find the grave, i am hoping that one of you have a hint to help me out here.
Persnolly taken the game is a bit difficult for people who don't understand English very well.
There are even points that i even have to ask for help.
Anyway great site and already thanks for the help.
The little kid sat down in the middle on the menu/start up screen, looks very yellow to me,
and in virtual villagers there was a way to 'make' a golden child who then made sure you never ran out of food and could do other magical things.
Just wondered, mainly due to my interpretation of that kid, whether this was possible in My Tribe too - maybe just wishful thinking now I'm trying to find new things to do! Pure curiosity!
how do I post a picture? Thanks
To Empress of Joy:
Unfortunately, tombstones are sometimes hidden by buildings. They appear wherever the person was when they died, so they can be anywhere. There is no trick to find them.
I think I know which child you're talking about. Is it the same screen with the blond adult woman on the left? There isn't a golden child in this game. Also, it's only the first Virtual Villagers game that has the golden child. The second and third ones don't have him.
To post a picture, you would have to upload it to a photo website like Photobucket and copy the link to that picture here.
Is it possible to encounter another tribe on another one of your profiles?
To A Dinosaur:
No, your profiles don't cross over.
I built lunar tower and had about 10 people for constructing it. And here's my question:
Most of them didn't construct it, they are mostly "relaxing", "take it easy", or "walking".
Is it normal? Are they lazy? Or did I use too many people to construct it? How many people are good to construct 1 building?
P.S: Sorry for my bad english, I am indonesian :) thank you so much!! Btw, nice website for discussing.
In response to the population only being able to get to 50. I was able to get up to 56.
Even when you have many people to construct a building, they only work on it one or two at a time. I never see a bunch of people working on a building at one time. It is good to have lots of builders because they can take turns working. I suggest that you give each of your people more than one skill on the details screen. That way, if there isn't something to do for one skill, they will switch to one of the others.
So, you're doing fine. It just takes time to build things, especially the large towers and ark.
to pam: thank you so much, i understand now. you really help me, love you :D
