Back and Forth solution
This one took alot of tweaking, I had the right idea, but the execution was hard.
Great solution to Down Under
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=26146
I prefer the old way, a semi with a follow car.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=26187
My adaptation of BioLarzen's flying machine... I just added a water rod and an unpowered wheel to keep it on the screen longer.
Wow, I can't believe I'm the only one using treads, they take a lot of work, but it's worth it.
here's MK 1 solution for Awash:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=26197
And then I added a second set of treads for more traction!

DU,
thx for linking this "green-solutions" page!
For the others: a "green" solution is one that uses no "powered" components - the yellow and pink wheels, that is.
I was delighted to see that even for the Tube level they got such a solution...
I'll go and give it a try. Will come back if I have any worthwhile green contraptions to share.
Wrdrich,
thx for improving the Flyer - this way it really flies better :)
OK, my first green solution (Around the Bend):
Strange...
Earlier I made a comment about something weird: if you change something in the contraption and then change it back to the exact original the contraption tends to work differently then before the changes although in theory it shouldn't. Now I managed to get different result by launching the same contraption twice - without making a single change on it.
How???
This is how it looks:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=26653
It's not a solution yet, but maybe you can also reproduce the different results without changing the structure.
I just don't understand, why you don't use the simple way :-)
Mission to Mars:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=26788
Here's a little dancing contraption I made (it doesn't solve the puzzle, it's just kinda cool):
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=27338
Big Ball level:
My solution: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=27368.
EN GARDE (not mine, but a cool one I've found): http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=1200
I see they've made a few updates to the game between its LDF posting and today. It's always nice to see that the creators are still out there, tinkering away.
Here's my 4 pc solution to "Mind The Gap"
Scrath that. Here's my 3 piece green for Mind the Gap:
Wow, LSN, that Mind the gap green one sure looks great!
LSN,
sorry, but here's my 2 piece Mind the Gap green solution:
I was messing around, and came up with an interesting solution to two of the puzzles.
I ended up using a varied version of what is apparently called "grip wheels".
I made them square!
Square Conveyor (Awash):
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=28132
Square Wheels (Up The Stairs):
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=28011
More of my solutions:
A very simple solution to Around The Bend
An Interesting solution to Handling
A fast solution to Mind The Gap
A simple solution to The Wall
A two wheel solution to On A Roll
One solution to Mission to Mars (which is very similar to Lassie Laserman's, however I saw his after I made mine)
The other solution to Mission to Mars (an edited version of my original one)
I found one (it isn't mine) that solves Up The Stairs in less than five seconds. Quite ingenious, actually.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=21700
Have you ever seen a chain break???
Check this one out:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=28527
It's a rather feeble try for a green solution but I was rather surprised to se the chain actually break to pieces...
More strangeness to come:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=28584
In this, modified (though still ridiculous) design not only does the chain break, but, if you look closely, you also see some of the wooden chain-parts somehow "cut through" the first (rightmost) blue wheel at the end...
About inconsistent replays:
The author is working on a solution, but so far it seems to happen quite rarely.
As for the chain breaking/going through the ground:
It is known about, and is actually not a bug: http://fantasticcontraption.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24
I admit it looks a little confusing, though.
I didn't think it was a bug but this was the first time I saw this happen :)
Thx for the info.
You have to see this!!
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=29932
I was modifying bioLarzen's design trying to make is a solution. Well, just see for yourself. I havent seen any of my contraptions do this!
Ashley,
I guess yours is the game's history's first ever cannon :D :D :D
Everyone's raving about this game. I can't for the life of me get past level 4 (the first one with a challenge) and I've been trying for ages. It just won't get past the blocks.
As far as I can see, nobody's even bothered to post a solution for something that early...
Chris,
here's one:
Chris: Don't discourage. It takes a little while to get used to different designs you can make, and once you do so, it is easy to apply these designs to different levels
For level 4.
That is a lot of junk in the way, and you would probably have a hard time to move it all.
Is there another way to get to the goal?
Climb over it. As you probably know, one wheel (the yellow ones) is not enough to push you over.
Try linking a bunch of wheels together for you to climb over the junk.
Here is one that I made: wall-e (failing to) clean up the junkyard :D
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=26084
Then here's a more spectacular one for the same level (#4):
Up The Stairs
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=30852
Another one im proud of..
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=31266
yay i finally passed back and forth!
Syntax, I tried yor stairclimber and modified it a bit, and ended up throwing myself off the edge. Have a look http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=31411
Further experimentation with the Flyer - you'll be rooting for it - "YOU CAN DO IT!!!"
bpanama,
my sincerest congratulations! I never thought the Flyer would actually work... I tried it so many ways...
Bio:
The good guy gets to fly around and celebrate for a while:
I did this:
http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designid=16003
I haven't seen many nesting ones around here.
Jon,
your link doesn't seem to work all right for me. It brings up the main menu of the game :(
Wow, that flyer is crazy impressive! Post it to their forums!
Anyhow, if any of you have payed the 10 bucks, perhaps you want to engage in a little forum game I am putting together.
http://fantasticcontraption.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=73
I don't plan to pay for the game, the free part still has a lot of challenge with those "green" solutions :)
My solution for the big ball level. Treds help!
and my variation on the farris weel.
I like this solution, it's an all-wheel-drive bicycle.
I call this one finger belt.
I Made Wall-e work for junkyard. Using a modified tread design and the above mentioned square wheel!
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=32565
and the UFO for "higher" although my UFO doesnt exactly fly...
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=32601
wall-e's back, this time on wall:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=32653
I was trying to complete this level, and I got a werid kind of machine... wait for a while....it breaks...
Back and forth, it throws and catches!
totally and accident, but I like it.
Here is a simple bridge i made
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=34566
This game is phenomenal. I beat the last of the original levels last night, and when i woke up this morning i had been dreaming about rods and wheels.
I am strongly considering buying it even though i am almost completely broke.
I spent some time today looking at others' solutions. On some levels mine was relatively elegant, and on others it was not. Here's my "Handling" solution, which I'm rather proud of:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=17620
This is brilliant in concept and presentation. Some of the user levels blew my mind with their creative solutions.
Outstanding!!!
AWASH Solution
I've looked through the few posted solutions to AWASH, all of them take a while to get through. My solution power's right through those balls like butter. On my computer, it only takes 15 SECONDS to get beat it. So if you don't want to wait forever, check out my solution.
After hours of struggling, I finally found my own solution to Unpossible:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=38815
It's not particularly simple, but it does the trick.
"About inconsistent replays:
The author is working on a solution, but so far it seems to happen quite rarely."
Well, I'd say it tends to happen as a rule. Wherever I change something then change back tot he original the chances are that it's gonna work differently. Sometimes this slight difference doesn't matter, sometimes it makes all the difference.
I liked the solid design of this vehicle.
Around the Bend:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=41188
A solution to four balls which I am rather proud of. After looking around, it looks a lot like a combination of some of the methods other people have used.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=41271
I haven't seen any solutions to Tube. Here's one I did:
Unpossible with a mace, not a chain.
Ebenclaw,
there are quite a few solutions for the Tube level in the comments.
Yours is good - as well as those :)
No ramps or catapults in this solution to unpossible :p
One thing I wanted to do but cannot do with this game is the archimedes spiral.
It seems one just needs the 3rd Dimension for it to work...
Another Down Under, but with a twist
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=46077
Awash, the brute force way
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=46219
Handling, without any fancy stuff.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=46290
Take a look at my javelin throw contraption! http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=46426
Tube, with a creepy climber
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=46290
Same conclusion I drew as I was lamenting on doing a helicopter for a level :D
Back and Forth, with a flip tower!
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=46290
Twieder,
you linked in the same (handling) contraption 3 times :D
This person isn't in the grocery aisle.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=48454 I made a trapdoor that works. Thanks BioLarzen for the Idea!!
most simple contraption there is. Handling
A solution to back and forth
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=49846
This is my solution to Mission to Mars:
The Tube
by using a wood rod instead of a water rod this one's a snap
OK, here's a "green" solution for the level "Full up":
A rather simple green for "On a roll":
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=50949
I try to go simple
A green Big Ball solution!

this is mission to mars!

Laddi,
congrats!
I was trying to design a greenie for this level but failed so far. Good to see it's not impossible.
A greenie for The Wall level:
I used grip wheels to solve Four Balls
My green designs sofar:

This one isn't green but I used an interesting reverse prepoulstion system I havn't seen used here yet I call it the arc:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=44159
A fairly simple solution for Up the Hump:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=54371
Inspired by a drive system used by some rovers - there are six wheels, with the middle wheel on each side further down so that it can rock back and forth when accelerating or decelerating.
Green Down Under
Title: Small jolt
Little green machine
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=54372
I've solved 10 puzzles "green" so far.
Still working on green solutions for:
Junkyard, The Wall (excellent catapult, btw), Up the hump, Up the stairs, Four balls, Awash, Handling, Tube, Back & Forth, Unpossible
Wow, those greenies are all awesome!!!
I myself am working on the stairs level green edition and had to discard 3 very promising ideas so far :(
But that's life, one of the ideas is bound to work sooner or later :D
Spo far this is the closest I got to solving the Up the Steps level the green way:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=56730
Really a matter of pixels :)
And yes! Some finetuning and here it is (Up the stairs level, greenie):
Mission To Mars...
No chains...
No Catapults...
I made a green attempt work (don't reminder which one I used, but thank's to him!!!)
Congrats, bio! I used your sling also for Up the Stairs, but couldn't get that extra bounce on the last step or the clear launch that the JIGuest got.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=55175
Green Handling:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=54660
I'm working on a green Junkyard.
Green Junkyard
Junkyard Dog

Tube, faster solution:
JIGuest and Laddi,
thx, but you might have missed my comment (at 5:01) in which I linked the final, working solution :D
POKEY'S TUBE CHALLENGE
----------------------
Having fun creating ingenious fantastic contraptions? Why not test your skills on Pokey's Tube Challenge!?
Here's the challenge: Complete the "Tube" stage by bringing the red ball around the outside of the tube. Your contraption can do whatever it needs to do, but the red ball must travel out the bottom of the tube, up around the side and back down through the top of the tube.
Who ever can do this gets an e-high five!
Well, that's certainly a challenge...
Have you achieved this?
Mission to Mars solution
This is a bit different than most of them in that it flings the ball instead of using a chain of some sort.
