few questions on parenting in the game:
1.) can the mother of a nursing child die? and if so, does the nursing child die also, or is it handed off to another tribe member?
2.) reguarding the parenting skill itself;
once a woman is 50, i notice she can still "go indoors" though she cannot get pregnant. Because she does not pregnant, she simply increases in parenting skill... apparently. The thing is, her parenting detail bar doesnt seem to be going up no matter how many times i have her "go indoors"
could this be a glitch in the game or am i just not being patient enough?
3.) and lastly, if you do not check up on your villagers for an extended period of time will they procreate on their own? I'd certainly hate to come home from vacation to find all my villagers had died of old age. =)
thank you for your time.
So I finished all the puzzles and the prince and princess appeared and then my villagers went up to celebrate and they were gone? What the heck, Where's my darn story???!???!??!
About the story -
Make the prince and princess appear again the same way as you did before, then just drop a villager on them to see the story.
About mothers and parenting -
It's possible for a nursing mother to die, like any other villager. I've only heard one story about it, though, and I believe the baby died, too. As for increasing parenting skills, it's slow. I was trying to get a jack of all trades and it seemed like it took forever with lots of going indoors. One thing that may help, they don't have to actually do the walk and go into the shack. The skills come as soon as you hear the kissing sound. That's the point when you'll see "improved at parenting" at the bottom. You can then just keep dropping them on top of each other a lot faster.
About leaving the tribe on its own -
If the tribe is big enough, it will sustain itself for a long time. Another option is to put the game on pause if you're going to be away for awhile. Use the spacebar to pause or click pause on the options menu.
Whats the clothes hut?
Where is it and how do you build it?
Once its built, what can you do with it?
About the clothing (sewing) hut -
The clothing hut foundation shows up late in the game. The foundation will appear between two of the existing huts. Once you've built it, you just drop a villager on it to buy them a new set of clothes for 5000 tech points. It's helpful when you have identical villagers and want to set them apart from each other. I also do things like put all my doctors in black and white so they are easy to spot in the crowd when someone is sick.
So the clothes/sewing hut just shows up randomly?
Or do you have to complete something first for it to become available?
The sewing hut appears to be random. I once had all the puzzles done and it didn't show up until I had purchased the final piece of technology. Another time, it showed up shortly after the statue went up.
so i think that the children should be able to pick the collectibles up by themselves because its really kinda of annoying to wait for them to just appear. and i am having a hard time finding the feathers i know they just appear but do they appear more in one spot than another? and how long does it take to get the fire to sparkle i have finished all the other puzzles but that one and the one for the door to actually finish the game.
I see spoilers for everything but the awards... How do u get a villager to give birth to triplets? Is there a trick? Something to do with the fertility potions maybe?
Help! I let two of my villagers drink a potion and now they're running around with their action bar saying: Blannesamagawa loomajoobamooga!! I don't get it... have they gone insane? The potion mix was:
cactus, tigerlilly, rose
It's a harmless potion that wears off quickly.
About triplets -
Having triplets is mostly random, but it happens more often later in the game. However, I have heard people say that the fertility potion helps produce triplets.
Fertility potion -
About feathers -
The feathers appear randomly. They can show up pretty much anywhere on the island, which is different from the other collectibles that are found only in their specific areas.
About the fire -
The fire usually sparkles fairly early in the game. I've been able to retrieve the gem in around 45 to 50 Isola years. Maybe go ahead and let it die out and see if the gem is there.
i would like to know how to buy clothes for the villagers please.
Solocord - have you constructed the clothing hut yet?
I stupidly tried the changing my computer's clock thing, and it worked beautifily EXCEPT my fire has 422 hours on it! I've already burned through about 100 hrs and still no sparkling fire and my villagers still "get a drink." I'm worried I'll never get the final gem! And I don't want to wait 17 hrs & I'm not even sure if it will go down. What do I do??? Any ideas??
And I really don't want to start over, I'm so far... I only need the final gem and to open the door...
I always advise against changing the computer clock because it can really mess up the game and other functions on your computer that rely on the clock. I can only suggest that you exit the game and go back in, hoping that maybe that something will reset. Also maybe let the fire die out just to see if the gem shows up. It shows up for me at around 45 to 50 Isola years.
Good luck! :)
I paused the game and when back foward to the correct date because I was worried about killing them if it wasn't paused, but nothing changed or reset. Like I said, I stupidly changed the clock. I guess I'm just going to have to wait 17 days. *sign*
Thanks for your help!
I have cleared all the rubble, and there is a secret cave there. I've watched the little video. Does anything happen after that? What do I need to make something else happen? I keep sending people down, and all I get is a rerun of the same mini video story. I can't see after all that work that its just a big hole. I have level 2 magic, and level 2 of everything else.
About clearing the rubble -
Clearing the rubble and revealing the cave below it is one of the puzzles that you need to solve. Once it's done, you don't need to do anything else with it.
How do you get the Chief to show you a rare collectable every 24 hours?
I need help. My statue was half way up the path, then someone got sick and my Cheif was worried about them and walked away. Now the cheif will not direct the work on the statue again (no matter where I put her). How do I get her to?
You need to put the Chief on top of the path next to the door. He/she will do a little spinning dance and you'll hear a gong sound. That's when you need to look for the rare collectible. Note: You must have level 3 Leadership.
Try dropping your Chief on the path next to the statue. There's a "hot spot" on the path where it makes them go back to work on the statue.
i think if you drop a male onto a female the baby is a boy
and visa versa
hope this helps!
i had the same problem with the statue getting left on top of the hill. Apparently it was a glitch that got fixed, so make sure you have version 1.00.04 (it says in the lower left corner of the menu page) i tried every single little spot, and updating my version is the only thing that worked. i dropped the leader right on the statue and they all started pushing it again.
how can i do the shark potion.please said me
how to make the shark potion.
About the shark potion:
The potion recipe is Orchid + Orchid + 6th herb (for Nature Faction), or Rose + Rose + 6th herb (for Magic Faction).
Wow, I have never seen the black haired villagers. I had a few light brown, many blondes and whole lot of redheads.
i cant get the chief and how to train a healer?
About the chief -
Everyone in the village has to try on the robe until it fits one of them. Even children.
About the healer -
Once you reach magic level 2, the medical area is set up and you drop villagers near the small table for them to train at being a doctor.
is there like a way to get Virtual Villagers 3: for like life? you know because im too young to use credit cards the fact that we have know credit cards and the fact that we dont use dollars here in our country
hi how do i get a master builder when there is nothing left to build ? I have max levels on all the tech stuff but I can't complete my last 3 puzzles because I can't move the fallen statue. Is there any potion or anymore huts I can build ?????
About builders -
You can train builders by having them repair the existing huts. It takes awhile, but it will work. There is also an energy potion that sometimes increases building skill. The potion is Black Orchid+Tiger Lily+Cactus.
Hi. I would just like to say thank god for this site lol! It has helped me massively.
I am now nearly finished with this game, I just have one little problem.. I cannot seem to retrieve the White Gem from the fire :( I did as you said before and waited for the fire to go out, it has went out twice now and I still found nothing there. I don't recall seeing sparkles above it either which is quite worrying, and my little villagers keep going to drink water from the waterfall and not fill any bowls. I am not quite sure where to go from here, I am losing my patience lol!
Also, someone mentioned triplets? Since I am just sitting waiting around for this White Gem, I decided to give some of my female villagers under 50 the chance to make some more babies.. So at the moment I have 15 babies waiting to grow up, and three sets of them are triplets! I never bothered using a potion, and the mothers are still quite young and did not have any Parenting experience.. The only thing they have in common is the fact that the father is the Tribal Chief lol! I am not quite sure if this is just plain luck, but give it a try? Like you said Pam, it is more common in the later stages of the game
Anyway, sorry for the essay and any advice would be great thanks.
Ignore my previous comment about the White Gem thats found in the fire. I finally managed to get it! Third time lucky.. Completely finished the game now, including the Collections so I am really pleased. Thank you :)
I am trying to get a Jack of all Trades. My villager is already a Master Farmer and Scientist. I put her on most of the statue and even after its completion, she is still only an Adept Builder. I keep dragging her to repair huts, but the bar will not move. She is an Adept Healer and she is currently pregnant for the first time at 40. She is my last chance to get a JOAT. Any suggestions to get just a little more building skill? It's so close.
Does anybody know if personal traits get passed along to offspring? My villager is a runner, which is awesome, and I am hoping her offspring will be one too.
To no name:
About building skills -
Try exiting the game and going back in. Sometimes that helps nudge the skills bar along. There is also an energy potion that sometimes increases building skill. The potion is Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus.
Also note, it will be difficult to gain a parenting mastery with the first baby coming at age 40. She can only have babies until age 50. You'll have to really stay on her to keep telling stories and going indoors (without having a baby).
What is the flowers to the potion?
Which potion are you asking about?
I have 4 people and 3 of them are children. I can't do anything except research and harvest fruit and soon the fruit tree will run out. So, I'm trying to repair the lift but I can't because my other master builder died on me this morning! HELP!!
The fruit tree will regenerate enough fruit to feed your little tribe. They may get hungry, but they probably won't die.
When the children grow up, train three adept builders to fix the lift. You will also want to quickly start having babies so that the tribe doesn't die out. You may need level 2 Restoration to repair the lift.
how do i update my version? i've done almost everything except building the statue and apparently i need version 1.00.04 but i only have version 1.00.02 so i won't be able to complete the game and i really don't want to have to start again!
You'll have to download the new version where you originally bought the game.
Does anything have to do with the birds? I thought from the first time I saw them that there has to be something but I can't seem to figure anything out. Also, I was paying attention to my Tribal Leader giving a lecture earlier and he held a bird up to show the tribe....possibly teaching them something?
Anyone have any ideas???
The birds don't do anything in this game. They are just pretty. :)
k one of my villagers died and i already have the grave plot thing already uncovered. how do i move the remains over there?
You don't have to do anything. The villagers will bury the remains on their own.
I only had one grown male when the tribe began and the boy child was only 4 so all my children are fathered by the same man, which just now occurred to me (duh)
Am I going to be able to make more children or is the game not going to allow this because all the children are at least half siblings?
Please tell me I don't have to start over
Don't worry. It won't matter who fathered the kids.
to get the diamond in the fire
mix potion of rose + tiger lily + catcus than drag any villager to drink it and drop the villager on the diamond
I've never heard of a potion that will let the villager pick up the gem in the fire. When I first made the potion you mention, it blew up. After purchasing more alchemy, the villager "acted crazy" (that's what my notes say).
Another way to get the gem in the fire -
Have the villagers pour bowls of water over the gem until it cools off.
Thank you so much Charkohl for your suggestion on 16th June. I have a really large tribe, and my chief died 4 days agao now, and I was having extreme difficulty finding a new chief.
I tried your suggestion by pausing the game and adding all 70 adults to trying the robe on, and hey presto, a new 26 year old chief!!!
Thank you, Thank you.
Can anyone help i have entered the sundial room found the ghosts & conversed with them & learnt about the past etc but the very last puzzle is still not showing as complete am i not doing something i should be help!!!!
The last puzzle should have shown complete as soon as you got the room open. Try exiting the game and going back in. That might help reset it and show the puzzle as complete.
how do i get the 6th herb
To Mumbo Jumbo:
You get the sixth herb when you purchase level two of your Faction (Nature or Magic).
Hi. Thanks for the great info on this page, it has been very helpful. I have nearly finished my village, I just need 3 more collection items, but on my awards I still do not have a 90 yr old villager, they all die by 80. I have bought all the stuff, and I use the correct potions, they show full health but they still die...any ideas?
I finished all the puzzles, and got the story, but I never got the sewing hut. When am I supposed to get that?
I've seen your question pop up a couple of times, actually, so this is really for everyone trying to keep their elders alive longer. I've had several live well into their 90s, and one that just died at the age of 99.
First, mind the basics - make sure you have lots of food reserves and you keep your fire burning. This contributes to the health of all your villagers. Make sure you're maxed on medical tech and you've solved the "aroma therepy" puzzle.
Once you've taken care of those basics, make sure ALL your villagers who are old enough to work get training in medicine. You can train them in shifts, then send them back to some other task, but the more trained doctors you have, the longer your villagers live. Some of my folks are getting really, really old. They move slower and slower and some of them develop a penchant for telling jokes. It's funny.
I hope that helps. I hope your villagers live very long indeed!
The sewing hut shows up very late in the game. For me, it usually comes after I've bought the last piece of technology.
I have completed all the puzzles, but there is a pile of loose stones between the cave and the stairs that I'm wondering about. Usually when you move a character around the screen, they will highlight an object that can be acted upon, for example, "Soda sees a berry plant, " or , "Kipuaki sees a cave." When you move a character over the stones, the task states "Kipuaki sees a pile of loose stones," but when I drop characters onto it, nothing happens. Can anything be done with the pile of loose stones?
what good does the cheif lecturing do
Those loose stones were used to repair the bath. Nothing else can be done with them.
About the chief lecturing -
When the chief lectures only children, they gain skill. If it's the whole village, it's just something to do and doesn't really change anything.
The Leadership Technology says that the chief will help a child locate a rare collectible when you place the chief at th top of the path. Is this the path where the statue is? Because I've tried numerous attempts and nothing is happening. What exactly should happen and am I putting the chief in the right place?
About the chief pointing out rare collectibles -
Every 24 hours, your chief can point out a rare collectible. This means that there is a rare collectible somewhere on the island for a short time when the chief does the little turn/dance/rainbow/gong thing. The rare collectible will show up in all the usual places, and it will disappear after a short while. To do this, you need to put your chief at the top of the path, to the right of the door that has the gem door keys. If you have trouble finding the spot, post back here and I'll get a screen shot posted for you. :)
I got a master builder and a level 3 of leadership, but i still cant manage to rebuild the statue, how?
i have a trouble about the chief pointing out rare collectibles, i couldn't find the spot, can you show me. thanks
Where is the tiger lily and also when i go to get the lotus my villager just just ignores it.
Ben: The tiger lily is the plant with orange flowers on the north side of the path up the cliff, near the statue.
Joey: What is happening when you try to build the statue?
Have you had your master builder draw the plans?
About the statue -
Before you can build the statue, a Master Builder has to build the scaffolding. Just fly your Master Builder along the path near where the statue is broken until you see "a good spot to anchor the statue". Once the scaffolding is done, you can start on the statue itself.
About the rare collectibles -
When the chief points out a rare collectible, it means that there is one somewhere on the island. They will be in the usual places... the beach, by the waterfall, near the rubble, etc. You have to seach all the areas and hope that you find it before it disappears.
I hope this was helpful. If you have more problems, post them here and I'll try to help. :)
About the lotus -
Make sure the action of your villager says that he/she actually sees the lotus before you drop him/her.
I am trying to produce offspring, but it isn't working. I only have one guy in the village and I have dropped him on every girl several times. They've gone inside but never have babies. I've tried it with the fertility potion but nothing. What am i doing wrong, does my village have a max... I only have nine people.
Oh and how should i use the fertility potion. Do i give it to both the male and female, and then drop them on each other or just wait for them to go at it.
i have almost 50 villagers and my chief just died, do i have to drag them all to the robe
About having babies -
It sounds like you are early in the game with 9 villagers (the max capacity will be around 90). It's harder to have babies early in the game. If they are going indoors, you're doing it right, though. You don't actually have to wait for them to go indoors. As soon as you hear the kissing sound, it's done. You can keep dropping them on each other over and over with the kissing sound until the population counter goes up. Then they will be having a baby! As a note: villagers can start having babies at age 18 and women stop having babies at age 50.
Yes, everyone will have to try on the robe until the new chief is found. However, I tried something that was suggested by a JIG visitor and it worked. I put the game on pause (space bar) and dropped every villager onto the robe. They piled up pretty good, which was funny. Then I unpaused and they all tried on the robe at one time (which was funny again). I did get a new chief, though, in much less time than trying them individually.
Anyone know how i can train builders as i have built everything except the statue and only adept builders can help on the statue. So i only have 2 people pushing it and i would like to get more help. Can the chief train builders?
About the statue and builders -
Once you get the statue going, even a Trainee Builder can help push. After everything is built, you can train builders on repairing huts. There is also an energy potion that sometimes increases building skill. The potion is Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus. Note: you can put up to 15 or 20 builders on the statue and the more you put, the faster it will go.
I am up to the final puzzle and have got all the keys and opened the door.
I moved the sun disk to the far left and then I waited for the people to apear and the story happened but it didnt say I had completed the puzzle?
Is there something else I need to do to complete it?
Which faction is better, i didn't realize you can only pick one. The magic one seems better since your scientists work more efficiently, but the nature give you longevity. Does anyone have an opinion which is better?
You've done everything you need to do for that puzzle. Try exiting the game and going back in and see if that makes the puzzle show as solved.
About factions -
I've played both Magic and Nature Factions. Neither is better than the other. They are just different... different sixth herb, population and longevity limits.
Final step to solve game?
I've completed both the Magic and Nature factions (two different tribes). Is there a way to get a male from one tribe to marry a female from the other? From the story line encountered in the underground cave and the chamber behind the door, it seems to hint that you need to do that for a final solution.
I haven't seen anything about how to get one from each tribe to marry. It's not in any of the info here on JIG. I think it's just part of the story, or perhaps a clue for Virtual Villagers 4.
I went to my fathers house for 19 days, and I forgot to pause my game before I left. when I came back I found that everything I had done was just about lost. I had 14000 food and all my research points but my lift and bath were broken, my alchemy lab was in ruins, my trees dissappeared, the sharks were in the water again, and my rocks and leaves were there again. anyone know why it did this? I did not move the clock on the computer...
I think there must be a way to get someone from a Magic Faction tribe to marry a Nature Faction tribe. Otherwise, why two factions and the ability to create multiple tribes?
That's very strange. I have no idea why it might have done that. :(
I've played three tribes all the way to the end, two are Nature and one is Magic. Nothing happened to let a marriage occur. Like I said, it might be setting up the next in the series of the games. If you find a way to make it happen, we'd love to know! :)
hi how do you get your chief to do magic food and at what level
The chief will make magic food at level 1 leadership. Just drop him/her onto the food bin.
hi i have 35 people cant get any more not enough room how do i get them to buid another
You will be able to build more huts as you buy restoration technology.
One of my people, has mastered 3 areas and is now an esteemed elder. If i'm trying to make her a jack of all trades how am i going to know when she's mastered something else. It never changes even when i put her on something she's never done like healing
About jack of all trades -
You'll just have to keep a close eye on your villager's detail screen. Be persistent about keeping her on task and it will eventually pay off.
i found that some of my female villagers can get pregnant at the age of 48. altho i was merely trying to get a jack of all trade by getting a master in everything...and i ended up with an old mom :D thanks for the tips tho...couldn't have done it without everything...
Females can have babies until they are 50 in this game. And... I recently had a new mother age 72 in the first Virtual Villagers game! What a surprise!
