yea, he does not. They started and pushed it as far as the lily tree, stopped to bury the dead and will not restart

To sweetlskb:

About the statue -

Look for a hot spot on the path where you can drop your chief to restart working on the statue.

If that doesn't work, check to see which version of the game you have. There was a bug with the statue puzzle that was fixed in version 1.00.04. If you don't have that version, you'll have to download it again from the site where you originally purchased the game.

I've built 3 huts already, but somone mentioned something about a sewing hut. Where do I get my villagers to build that? They need a new project since I'm just waiting on the gem from the fire now.

Thanks.

Reply

Rachel - the sewing hut seems to appear randomly at some point after you've maxed out your construction technology.

My sewing hut showed up only after I had purchased all technology and solved all the puzzles, very late in the game.

Also, about the fire gem -

You should get it fairly early in the game. When you see your fire start to sparkle, it's time to let it die out.

They will eventually get to Master level by repairing huts. Make sure they stay on task. Also -

You'll get a sewing hut to build late in the game. Keep buying tech and the sewing hut will show up.

Reply

To JIGuest:

About the lift -

Put the villager on the lift the moment it starts raining. It will say "standing on lift". They will stay on it long enough to be lifted up. If you put them on too soon, they won't stay long enough. If you miss the beginning of the rain, the lift has already started lifting and the villager can't get on.

thank you for your response to my post. I did buy all the technology available and my adept builder almost single handidly built the sewing hut! Still didn't make it to master though! I think I just picked the village idiot for this task, he seems incapable of learning too much! Anyway, i picked another one of my little guys now and he's repairing the huts, hope he'll make it!

Reply

Thanks, I haven't noticed any sparkling fire and when I put my villagers on the waterfall, all they do is drink. Frankly, that doesn't sound like a bad idea since my fire says it can go for 2500+ hours and I'm in fast mode. Guess I'm in for a long wait for that gem.

Reply

Ok, i have fully researched all levels & have built all huts, the sewing hut included. Now I am ready to move my statue...only all my master builders have died. I keep trying to train new ones, but cant even get them to trainee level since there is nothing else to build. What else can I do to get builders trained besides fixing huts???

Reply

To Rachel:

Something sounds wrong with your fire. On fast speed, your fire should only burn for 10 hours. Yours says 2500 hours? That's very strange. Try exiting to see if it will reset.

Reply

Yes, 2547 hours to be exact. I've re-booted and it still says that - give or take a couple of minutes. I may try a new tribe. These guys can hold their own for a while since they have accumulated 60,000 in food for the 100 of them. I also haven't seen a new tile in days. Frustrating - so close and yet so far.

It may take awhile, but your builders will gain experience repairing huts. You'll need a Master Builder to draw the plans and build the scaffolding for the statue, but after that, you only need Trainee level builders to move the statue. The sewing hut is a luxury. Once you reach a certain point in the game, there's nothing left to do. Might as well buy clothes. It's useful if you have villagers that are dressed the same, or if you want to put some of them in uniforms to help you keep track of a large village. :)

You can only drop two or three children on items in this game and there's a little trick to it.

Pause the game. Drop a child on the item. Unpause and pause again really fast. Drop the second child. You can try for a third, but it's nearly impossible because there's just not enough time. It does help with accumulating food and tech points, though.

Thank you about the esteemed elders i have a couple of questions:
1.what are totems?
2.I've finished all the puzzles on the puzzle page is this it?
3.How do you complete the proficy (the triplets)?
4.What happens if you get all the tablet pieces?
5. How do you make someone a better parent without keep getting them to having babies?

thank you very much
Gina

Reply

To gina:

My mistake about the totem. That's in Virtual Villagers 2. They don't receive totems in this game.

For your other questions -

About the puzzles -

There are no other puzzles after you finish the 12 puzzles.

About triplets -

Triplets are random. They start coming later in the game after you've purchased all levels of medicine. You can try the fertility potion, but I haven't heard that it really helps. Lotus + Lotus + Rose.

About the tablet -

The tablet pieces are just a collection like the feathers and turtle shells. You might get a slight increase in your population limit when you complete the collections.

About parenting skills -

If you use a female over 50, she won't have babies. You don't have to wait for them to actually go inside the hut to get your increase in parenting skill. It happens when you hear the kissing noise. At that point, you can keep dropping them on each other. They won't have a baby and both villagers will increase parenting skill. Telling a story to a child also increases parenting skill.

Reply

To cheech fletcher:

About finding a chief -

They all have to try on the robe, but there's a quicker trick to do it. Put your game on pause (space bar) and then drop all the villagers onto the robe at the same time. When you unpause, they will all do it together and one will be the chief. It's funny to watch, too.

What is the importance of the tablet pieces? I left my computer and when I came back they were done but I missed three pieces.

Reply

To Curlietop727:

About tech points -

Master Scientists earn tech points faster. Be sure to put any available villager on the research table. You can also earn tech points by picking up duplicate collectibles. Plus, you can double the collectible tech points by using a little trick to get two children to pick them up. First put the game on pause (space bar). Drop a child on the collectible. Hit space bar again twice really fast to unpause and pause the game again. Then drop a second child on the item. Unpause one last time and both children will pick up the item. It might take some practice to get it to work, but it really comes in handy with accruing tech points.

Reply

To Curlietop727 (again):

About the tablet pieces -

Even when you're finished clearing the rubble, the tablet pieces will continue to show up randomly in that same area until you've finished the collection. The tablet pieces are not required for the game. They are an optional collection like the feathers, turtle shells, and coral.

This is to Pam and Cersei on the symbols above the rose bush. They do actually mean something.

Does anyone else find that it takes forever to get two of the awards: the ancient elder one and the alchemy one. I've played 4 tribes and on all 4 I got every award but those two. I have the list of potions and have made tons of them but I can't seem to get the award. Is there a secret to either of those awards? I've had people as old as 86 yr. old but no older. :?

Reply

To Sue:

I have a few thoughts that might help you.

Ancient Elder Award -

My oldest villager lived to age 100. The best way to have one live long enough to get the award is to choose Nature Faction, which increases longevity. Also do everything you can to keep them healthy. Have plenty of trained doctors to take care of everyone. Keep an eye on their health bar on the details screen. When it starts dropping, give them a healing potion. When they become elderly, maybe retire them and take them off task. You could click the parent box or whatever will keep them from doing work and let them relax more. All these little things together will help them live longer.

For the Alchemy Award -

It counts only unique potions toward the 50 you need for the award. If you make the same potion more than once, the extra ones won't count. Make a chart of all possible combinations of herbs. I read somewhere that there are only 57 or something. Go down the list and make each one. You should be able to get the award that way.

Reply

in the awards does abundant sercurity when you get 20000 food points mean that you will never run out of food again? does that mean i can set my farmers to another task?

Reply

For sarchy -

About reaching abundant security:

Your villagers will continue to use food and deplete the supply, even after you've reached the 20000 point goal. However, you're pretty safe setting your farmers to other tasks. You can set them to research or building, but they'll leave those tasks on their own from time to time, replenish the food supply, and return to their other tasks. Having cross-trained villagers is very useful.

Reply

I've completed all the puzzles and have 90 villagers but I still don't have the sewing hut. Is there something else I need to do to get it?

Reply

To sarchy:

In addition to what chazaz said, you can also loose food if a disaster strikes in the form of a random island event. Even so, it won't take your farmers long to replenish it.

Reply

To Janice:

I also had all puzzles solved and a large population. The sewing hut finally showed up when I purchased the final bit of technology.

Reply

thank you very much you guys for that information. i appreciate it.

Reply

Sue - I have the same issue. I don't know if I have the patience to do all the alchemy combos, but I would like to get the elder. The oldest I've gotten was 80.

My game is basically done and I don't check in with my tribe as often as I used to. I am still waiting on 2 pieces of the tablet, one suddenly appeared after a long while, but it's taking forever. I am also missing the last feather, despite the chief pointing out rare collectibles. Is there a signal when these things might turn up? Since I am not watching the tribe as much, I can't seem to get the final collections.

Unfortunately, the only thing that works for getting the last of the collectibles is patience. They are all random appearances and you just have to catch them at the right time.

To Kat:

Frador2 is correct about training builders by fixing huts. There is also an energy potion that will sometimes increase building skill. The potion is:

Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus

Reply

To chaoster:

That only works if they actually made a baby. You save time by not waiting for them to walk to the hut, but if the kissing sound didn't produce a baby, none will show up if you drag the female away.

Reply

Chaoster, if you just keep dragging one person on another quickly, a baby just appears really quickly, that's what I've done for all the games!

And Pam, all that potion keeps doing is making them exercise!

Reply

Hi Kat.

The potion doesn't always increase building skill, but it does sometimes. Right after they finish exercising, it will say that their construction skill increased if it worked.

Reply

I've tried that potion and it hasn't raised anything ): and the fixing huts, I've fixed every hut until all it says is examining and won't fix it anymore, and it still hasn't raised!

To Alybd:

About Jack of All Trades -

The hardest part of that one to get is Parenting. I would suggest that you get the four other trades first, which shouldn't be too difficult. Then when it comes to parenting, use a female over 50 (she won't have babies) and a male of any age. Either one can have the four other trades. The key is to gain parenting skill without producing babies. After you drop a villager onto one of the opposite gender, you'll hear a kissing sound if it's successful and you'll see at the bottom of the screen that the villager improved at parenting. Don't wait until they go indoors. Just pick one up and drop again. Do this over and over to significantly improve parenting skill.

About the Ancient Elder -

Mostly you just need to make sure that all needs are being met... plenty of food, all of the medical technology purchased, trained doctors. Also keep an eye on their heath meter and make healing potions when needed. Nature faction villagers live longer, too. Given enough time, you'll have a villager live to 90. I've had them live to 100 and didn't even know it until after they died.

About Alchemy R Us -

These have to be 50 unique recipes, so doing the same potion more than once won't help you get the award. You might just write down all the possible potion combinations and check them off as you make them.

I hope you find this information helpful! :)
