About the sixth herb -

For Nature faction, it's the Pitcher Plant. You'll find it to the left of the alchemy lab. Let me know if you have trouble finding it and I'll post a screenshot.

I purchased Leadership 2, how do I educate the children. And does this educate them in the skills so when they get of age they're already trained or did i just waste tech points?

Reply

To Hannah:

About teaching the children -

You just need to drop the Chief on a child and they will all go to the amphitheater. It will show it as "Lecturing", but none of the adults attend. And yes, it will give the children skills. Sometimes it will be enough to have them be Apprentices before they turn 14.

cool thing about collections

both the turtle and coral add 5 to your max population

i dont know how it works for the others or if your facftion is nature

Reply

To wootsy:

I've never been able to get a female over 50 to have babies, no matter what I try. I think maybe the fertility potion helps with twins and triplets in younger females.

How do I know what my max population is... I have magic faction level 2 and i have rebuilt 2 huts. I want to have more babies but Im trying to get a master parent out of one of the girls so i need to know what my max is

Reply

To Hannah:

About max population -

The max population for Nature faction is 90 and the max for Magic Faction is 95 once you have all the housing built. It can go higher depending on whether you complete the collections. The most I've ever seen is 105.

Reply

Do I have to have restoration level 3 to start working on the 3rd hut, because I can't get my workers to start on it? Do you have any idea what the max would be until that 3rd hut gets built?

Reply

To Hannah:

Yes, you need level 3 restoration for the last hut. Until then, I believe the max will be 35.

I've only had the game going for two days and already my villagers have used all the fruit and all the honey and they have 0 food. The chief filled the food bin within 24 hours so that is gone too. What do I do. I don't have enought tech points to upgrade anything.

I Can't find the pitcher plant. Can someone please post as screenshot??

Kittitian Girl July 6, 2008 12:59 PM

Found that these two things help me:

1. Have your chief do all three things early in the day every day - create food, teach children, show rare collectible. This way, if he/she dies, when the new chief takes the robe, even if it is on the same day, that new chief will do all three things again BEFORE the 24 hours are up.

2. Just BEFORE you mix any potion that you want several members of the tribe to take, go to Options and change Speed to Slow. This way, the potion lasts about 9 minutes instead of 3.

Reply

To Eternal:

About a new chief -

One of your villagers is definitely the new chief. You need to have each of them try on the robe, even the children. If you have a nursing mother, you'll need to wait until she's finished to have her and the baby try on the robe.

Reply

To Me:

About food -

The trees will produce more fruit until you are able to make the potion to get rid of the sharks. Also, have the children gather mushrooms. Your villagers will worry about food, but the fruit will regenerate.

You can drop more than just the two farmers onto the fire. It doesn't happen every time, but when you see the white sparkles around their feet as they dance, it will be a success.

An interesting minor frustration with my villagers:

I have a set of twins - one of them dislikes working and the other dislikes learning. I had to set each of them to the task about 70 times before they would do anything. They finally have trades, but every time I turn my back, they're either looking at the fishes of relaxing on the beach.

These villagers remind me of the people I work with.

Reply
bekajoe July 6, 2008 5:53 PM

About twins/triplets-

As far as I can tell it's completely random, and the fertility potion isn't always necessary. I had a set of twins using the potion and then overnight had a female who was set to parenting have triplets without any potion. Shortly after discovering her triplets, I had another set of triplets without any potion! I did have all the puzzles complete before I got any multiples, so think they're more common after completing them.

Did I miss the opportunity, and will it come up again?

About the fire gem -

The gem appears in the fire at around 45 to 50 Isola years. Watch for the white sparkles in the fire. When you see them, it's time to let the fire die out. You may also want to exit the game and go back in to give it a chance to reset everything.

I hope this is helpful.

Reply

Hi Pam,

Thanks for the quick response...I'm way over 50-60 Isola years. I'm on my 6th or 7th chief, I think. Do you think I need to start a new game to get the fire gem?

Reply

To Mufasa:

Before you start a new game, try exiting the one you have and closing it all the way down. Then open it back up and resume the game. Give it a little time to show white sparkles in the fire, but if there are none, go ahead and let it burn down. Maybe the gem will be there. I'd sure hate for you to lose all you've done on your game!

Thanks!!!!

[Edit: You need to contact the place you purchased the game from. We are not affiliated with them, therefore we cannot help you here. However, that being said, if you just re-download the game and reinstall it over your previous game, assuming they have a more recent version available, that should fix the problem for you. Next time, purchase the game from us and we'll go out of our way to help you resolve any issues you encounter. -Jay]

Reply

Lynsey, you are most likley forgetting the "magic stick", i kno i did. Its located to the right side of the lab, a little below the cactus. Hopefully thats the missing item!!

Reply

I just found out that your chief can be a mom! (Its actually very helpful in the earlier stages of the game when you dont need her to direct work.) That way you can use the villagers to get things done- while adding to your population.

Also, there is no need to wait for couples to "go inside" to have a baby just keep dragging them on top of one another, after a few times, a baby will just appear. It also makes your parenting skills go up very fast!!

Reply

To Linsey:

About the alchemy lab -

There are a total of five items that you need to find in order to restore the alchemy lab. The hardest one to find is the stick that Tina mentioned. It is sort of gray on one end and orange on the other. However, it won't be below the cactus as she said. The location of the alchemy lab items change with every game. They are never in the same place twice. I'll put up a screenshot of what the stick looks like, but the location of it won't help you. It's usually up against some bushes to help hide it. I've never seen it laying out in the open.

can you get any more than 3 trees in your orchard because i aint got no food and ive got lvl 2 in everything and mushrooms+magic aren't enough

To Carl:

About your food situation -

You can only have three trees in the orchard, but the fruit on them will regenerate for your villagers to have in awhile. Also, if you have level 2 of everything, including Faction, you can make the potion that gets rid of the sharks. Then you have unlimited fishing. The potion varies whether you have Nature or Magic Faction and uses the sixth herb that you get when you purchase level two.

If you need more help, post here and I'll try to help you. :)

I exited the game and reopened it, and the fire is still not sparkling and when I take a villager to the waterfall, they just get a drink. Any other ideas? lol

Hi Crissy.

I am truly baffled as to why you haven't gotten the fire gem yet. The only thing I can suggest is to let the fire die out and then re-light to see if it will trigger the gem to start.

Females can have babies until they are 50. Keep trying and do this:

You don't have to wait for them to "go indoors". It happens when you hear the kissing sound. Keep dropping them on each other over and over until she's holding a baby or the population counter goes up.

Reply

what am i going to do for food? the honey ran out and the plant in my orchard is empty and my chief can only make food every 24 hours. Also what is a fast way to get tech points other then getting the kids to pick up shells and feathers from around the place and to get some people to research

Reply

To jendndre:

About the cemetary -

Yes, the cemetary does eventually get full. When that happens, the villagers are still buried and they show up on the Roster of the Dead, but they don't have a tombstone.

Reply

To Mark:

About food -

First, the tree will regenerate fruit. It's not a one-time food source. Second, you need to plant two more trees. You'll have to fix the lift to get the fruit/seed for planting.

If you need more help, come on back! :)

Reply

To Mark:

It sounds like you're doing everything for tech points. Sometimes you'll get random island events that grant tech points, but you can't control those. Just put everyone you can spare on the research table.

Note: Some people advise that you change your computer clock for tech points, but this is a really bad idea.

90 is the max you can have. There aren't any more huts for housing. If you get Magic Faction, your max capacity will be a little higher, like 95 or 100. You might also be able to squeeze in a little more when you complete a collection. But for the most part, 90 is the most you can have. :)

About the fire key:

the fire must have been burning for at least 65 hours straight before it will show up. If you drag a villager to the fire and they say something is to hot to pick up it's the key. Use the water from the water fall to cool it, children can help bring water.

If you put the preference of some of the young adult villagers to Parenting, they'll actually go and kiss and go indoors on their own. My population is at max at the moment. They're building the last hut, so i don't know if the women will get pregnant or if it just improves the parenting skill. I just though that was kinda funny.

Reply

To Stressed Gamer:

Some strategy ideas for you to try -

1. Set the game to "easy" on the options menu.

2. Make it an early priority to train three Adept Builders and purchase level 2 Restoration technology. Have Restoration be the first thing you purchase.

3. The Chief won't be able to do a weather dance until you've purchased more Leadership technology, so that won't help you much.

4. Keep your population under 10 until you have the orchard planted.

5. Have your Chief make magic food every 24 hours.

6. After planting the second seed, go for the third.

7. Before the food runs out, make a health potion to improve the health of the villagers, which will help them live longer. Don't wait until your food is gone because the potion won't do anything unless the villagers are "well fed". The potion is cactus + cactus + lotus.

I hope this helps. If not, come back here and we'll brainstorm some more. :)

Reply

To Carl:

About food -

If you have all three trees, it should be enough to keep your villagers going for awhile. It seems slow, but it will accumulate. Using the health potion will help them, too. Just be sure to do it while there is food in the bin.

About tech points -

Put every available villager on the research table. Master Scientists will also accumulate more tech points than others. Also, duplicate collectibles will earn tech points. If a collectible shows up that you already have, go ahead and pick it up.

The villagers will worry about food when it gets low, but keep them on track and they should make it. :)

Reply

To Stressed Gamer(s):

Just a couple of thoughts to add to Pam's most excellent suggestions:

Remember, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD. There are several puzzles you can solve early on in the game, but you should ignore things like clearing leaves and rubble, and even shiny pink stones. Try keeping your villagers 100 percent focused on building tech points, harvesting food, and building shelters until all the shelters have been built. Don't waste energy on any other activities until you've secured an unlimited supply of food and you've built enough shelters for your population to grow to its maximum. The side benefit - you'll have plenty of projects left on which to train new villagers if you tackle it this way.

Another thought:

Be cautious about harvesting. Something I noticed - the more you harvest, the more food gets used. You want to harvest just enough to keep your villagers from "worrying about food." For your original 8 villagers, this is around 300 food. Add 25 food for each new villager. When you get to the desired level, pull your villagers off of farming, and put them onto research or building.

Last point:

Careful about the order in which you buy technology. My best recommendation is: 1 - Level 2 Restoration; 2 - Level 1 Faction; 3 - Level 2 Faction. This is the fastest root to making sure you have the tech you need to solve your food crisis. Your food crisis isn't over until you've solved the problem with those sharks!

Hmmmmm... maybe there IS one more thing:

Keep making those babies! Designate one of your female villagers to be the official parent, and keep her working on babies non-stop. It's the only way to get new hands to help with your research.

I have three villages going at the moment. I've managed to get all of them through the above mentioned food crisis while I still had about 2000 food left on my trees.

Hope that helps!
