I've played this game and finished it a couple of times. I went to the village tonight for the first time in a few days and now my villagers are sometimes (not everytime) jumping into the bath from the rock wall instead of using the steps. Have they always done this and I just didnt notice?

[Edit: They've always done it. :) -Pam]

My villagers won't finish pushing the statue. Is there anything wrong? My chief stops "directing work" so I couldn't complete puzzle 9. I researched before and what I found out is that there's a bug affecting it. Anyone know how to fix it? Pretty please!!
Thank you so much!!

Reply

If you are lacking food, and looking for mushrooms, have the chief do the lecture, and usually you will see a mushroom. You can also find something to collect. Once they eat enough, make sure you restore their health since food is limited.

Reply

when starting the game, try to get the chief to be a child, that way you can use adults to do a job. A chief child can pick up firewood. Also, you can win a trophy with having a chief that's over 50 years.

What does it mean when my villager is cleaning up after the rain?

Reply

To Joey:

I'm sorry for the late reply. The lift is on the right side of the screen, just below the ocean. It looks rather like a see-saw. The black orchid is directly below the dirt where the children play. Here is a screenshot:

Black Orchid

To Luis:

For the weather dance -

Make sure you have level 2 Leadership and several trained farmers. Drop the Chief first and then at least two Adept Farmers. When you have done everything right, you'll get the window that says you have solved the puzzle.

To JIGuest:

Cleaning up after the rain is just a random activity like doing the laundry. It doesn't really matter for the game; just something the villagers do.

Reply

How do you get your chief to do lectures???

Reply

To Kristen:

For Chief to do lectures -

Drop the Chief on the podium of the amphitheater to lecture the tribe. To lecture/teach children, you need level 3 Leadership. Then just drop the Chief on any child and the lecture will start in the amphitheater.

Please see my reply to Joey above on April 11 at 2:38 a.m. for a screenshot of the black orchid.

To Keri:

You aren't doing anything wrong. It just sometimes takes many attempts to make a baby.

Keep dropping them on each other. You don't need to wait until they go inside the hut. The baby will happen at the kissing sound.

To Soph:

Items are random and will be in different places.

To Dana:

You can go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and I'm sure they will have the most current version. Otherwise, you can find links at the top of these comments that will take you to downloads that you can purchase.

Great and Fun game! Im in the middle of it though. I had an experience that my tribe is only just eating mushrooms. And I think they are getting pretty sick of it. I have only like 200+ food. Gets maintained by my patient wait for the mushrooms ( They appear mostly when raining ^_^ ). Then I found out that there is a potion to have the fish food. So I have all my villagers go to the research table and slept. When I woke up... I found them still researching with enough tech points. I laughed at their incredible way of surviving. ( I got it to fast because i mistakenly thought it was for them to move much faster XD ).

But now, My problem is making my population high. I got only 3males, 1 kid ( Male ) and a nursing female having the age of 22. I get really frustrated every time somebody in the tribe dies.

Reply

To Erin:

You can chang the speed by going to the options menu. On fast speed, the females nurse their babies for two hours in real time.

To Mishap:

Females can have babies until they are 50 years old. I would suggest you keep your remaining female busy having babies every two years. Here's a tip:

You don't have to wait for them to go indoors. Once you drop one of them, keep dropping immediately over and over until you see the population counter change or you see the female with a baby.

Reply

Thanks Pam! Now I got a lots of kids roaming around the island. ^_^

Hey,
I have been playing for a while and I was wondering. My fire burned out when I wasn't playing and I have been trying for days to get it to light up again, but it won't.
Is there any way to make it light up again?
Whenever I put someone on it, they just say, "Ouch,
the gem is to hot to pick up."

:)

Reply

Ray -

Is there a diamond sitting in the ashes?

If so, start putting children in the waterfall, they will take water over to the fire pit to cool down the gem. Keep doing it until someone can pick up the gem. Then you can get them to put firewood and grass there and restart your fire.

Reply

To Ray:

That's one of the puzzles -

Drop several villagers on the waterfall and they will carry water to the gem to cool it off. It will take many trips, but once it's cool, they'll stop carrying water. Then just drop a villager on the gem and he/she will carry it to the appropriate location. Once that's done, you can start another fire by dropping a villager on the wood and dry grass, the same as you did at the beginning when you first started the fire.

Okay, I'm at the point where my chief and my villagers are fixing the statue. It's almost half the way up the path, but I can't see the "pearl" yet. I heard there was a big bug in the game that wouldn't let me finish it because there's no pearl. Is this bug fixed yet? Or does the statue need to be fully repared before you can see the pearl?

Reply

Blackrose84 -

You won't see the "pearl" until the statue is fully repaired.

Reply

To blackrose84:

The pearl won't show up until after the statue is complete. The bug is when the statue gets stuck halfway up the path. If that happens to you, be sure to check the FAQ located at the top of this page for assistance. :)

I really do love this game! Yet, I can't believe how long it takes to get all the gazillion tech points one needs to move ahead.
is there some quicker way - or am just missing something.
I can wait for 10 minutes sometimes for something to appear, and yes, I do "double up" o al of them.
I can't imagine how long it will take to get to 150,000 at this rate.
Thanks!

Reply

To Ehmm:

It's hard to imagine now, but there will come a time when your question will be, "What am I going to do with all of these gazillions of tech points?" The only thing you can to is just wait. Get everyone started on whatever their job is, then close the game and leave it. When you come back a few hours later, you should see some pretty good progress. It just takes time. :D

Has anyone finished puzzle 16? the spoiler says to drop a villager on the left of the sundial, but that does not seem to work. Any ideas?

Reply

To Kathy:

That puzzle can be a little tricky. This is what worked for me:

Once you have the hidden room open, wait for the weather to be sunny (sun beams will be visible). Then drop one of your villagers on the disk in the room. If you hit it right, you'll see the spirits of the dead villagers. Then click on the spirits to see their story.

Reply

Kathy -

Here's what you need to do:

When you open the room you will notice that the green disk is in a position at the bottom of the sundial. Find an esteemed elder (someone who is a master in 3 areas) and drop them on the disk until it is in the left position. Now wait for the sun to come out. When it does, drop any villager on the ghosts and you get the story (and the trophy).

My virtual villagers 3 got the version 1.00.02, not the 1.00.04 that got a bug. But my chief is still not directing work for fixing the statue. My chief's action would just be "gathering herbs" or "proud of the tribe" if not, "expecting food" and worse, "nothing" !!! XP please help.

[Edit: If your version is 1.00.02, you probably have the bug. You need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download the current version (1.00.04).

I'm really scared because this morning before I left at like 10:30, I had like 15 villagers (2 died overnight because of old age) and when I woke up, I came back and I had 11. They are all dying of old age and I've no more room for babies anymore. All my women are aging quickly. The youngest is 45 and the youngest man is 46. All of my buildings, I've 32% or 1% or 2% and on the clothing I've 28%. Please help me!

Reply

To JIGuest:

You need to have a strategy.

Don't start other buildings until you have completed the first hut. Concentrate your builders on one spot until it's finished, then move them somewhere else. Once you complete the first hut, your population can go as high as 17. After you finish the second hut, you can have up to 35 villagers. Then after the third hut, you can have 90+ villagers.

Regarding the clothing hut -

In this game, the clothing hut doesn't show up until the very end of the game after the puzzles are solved and after all technology is purchased. I don't understand how you could already have the clothing hut at 28% if you don't have enough huts to house your villagers.

Having babies -

The women can have babies until they are 50 years old. The men can have them until they die.

You can increase your max population by completing the collections, each collection you complete increases your max by 5, and if you complete the 4th collection it increases by an additional five.

Ok, my problem is that i have 2 little kids a 3 yr old and a 4 yr old in my game and a tribal chief that is 41 thats all i have now because 17 of my villagers died this morning from starvation because the trees i planted didnt harvest fast enough.. what do i do?

Reply

Marianne1 -

Are the kids a boy and a girl? You have two problems, getting food and being able to reproduce. Kids cannot harvest food, but they can collect mushrooms. The chief can also create food once every 24 hours, so drop your chief on the food bin to create some food and collect mushrooms religiously. Doing this you might be able to keep them alive long enough to reach adulthood.

Once they reach 14 they can harvest fruit like an adult. Once they reach 18 they can reproduce. If both of the kids is the same sex, then you might have a problem. The only solution is to hope for a random event like a barrel of babies or a raft from the other side of the island to arrive.

Everyone died... So game over. and I got really far. I only had 4 milestones puzzles left.

One of my Master scientists seems to have cloned himself, or else discovered a long lost identical twin! Suddenly appeared an exact copy, identical in dress, appearance and age (47). I read a post in which the sender said that many of his villagers looked the same, even down to the clothes, and the reply was that children often look like their parents, but as both the Master scientist and his clone were aged 47 it couldn't have been an offspring.

I also read a post about a villager keeping a crystal which made a clone of him/her, and this did happen to one of my villagers but he was a young child at the time and not related to the scientists but he did become a Master scientist so maybe that might have had something to so with it.

The lift - I read that some had been having trouble building the lift. I used two adept builders and they made it work.

I have been playing this game for just a few days and have much to learn. But I have got into the habit of frequently flying little ones around the island to find mushrooms and collectibles. I figured that if I already had one in my grasp, if I spotted a mushroom or collectible I wouldn't have to go looking for the children before the things disappear.

Reply

Suenutty -

It looks like you did indeed find the crystal that makes an evil twin. Although it is a random event, it happened quite frequently in my games. Handy especially in the beginning when you are in need of more adult workers.

Reply

Does having the tribal leader lecture do anything? i thought he was supposed to be able to teach children at leadership 2, but i don't see anyone learning anything.

This game, VV series, are boring. Only fun in the first four days (our time)... and then I forgot all about it. It's like nursing a pet, but they're invisible, and silent. And we won't know when they sick or die or get old or even when they learn the "roll over" or "sit" or "play dead" by themselves until when we meet again and suddenly... "Whoahh?? Lava/Napa/Saeco/etc wtf u're a master scientist now?? You gotta be kidding me!! Last time I check you're still picking the corals!". Simply said boring; but please don't listen to me unless you're a strictly casual gamer like myself.

Joshua -

What exactly happens when you drop a villager on the beehive? It may be that it's just depleted and you need to work on finding another food source.

Carla -

No, you definitely have a Chief in your village. If you have a large village, try pausing the game and dropping everyone on the robe at one time. That way you can see for sure that you haven't missed anyone. When you unpause, they all converge on the robe and one will emerge as the new chief.

Paulette -

The foundation for the last hut comes very late in the game. It will show up around the time you're trying to do the statue.

For the Chief to teach the children, you need level 2 Leadership. After that, just drop the Chief on a child and they will all run to the amphitheater for their lessons.

Reply

Okay, seriously?! I paused the game. I KNOW I did, because the trees that were growing in the orchard have as much time left as they did before I went to bed. I got up this morning, and everyone got older, the food got eaten, and my 14-year-olds didn't get trained in their fields! Two of my villagers died because they ran out of food. BUT I PAUSED THE GAME!!! The fire even has some time left, and trust me I was gone for 10 hours. What the 'fro?!!

1) I prefer the fast time because every 1 minute of real time is 3 minutes in the game, so random events happen faster and people work faster, but the negative is that they will also run out of food faster.

2) In this game, the people just walk slowly. Period. You can't do anything to affect their walking speed.

3) Finish the lift. You will get seeds to plant once it is finished. You can also collect mushrooms and make your cheif create "magic food."

4) Either restoration or leadership.

5) You don't have to wait.

6) You also don't have to wait.

Yes, you can get the pearl out of the clam.
First, you must finish rebuilding the large statue. When the statue is rebuilt, there will be an item near the base of the statue that looks like a dark blue seashell. Put one of your Master Builders on it and he will round it off in the waterfall. Next, put a Master Scientist on the pearl and he will polish it. Then, put the Chief on the pearl and he will take it to the clam and exhange it for the Round Pearl Door Key that the clam has. Finally, take the Round Pearl Door Key to the door at the top of the path.

Normally, when you drop a chief on the food bin they create food, but you can only do this once every 24 hours. If they've already created food once, then you'll get the refusing message. The villagers don't need to be dropped on the bin to make them eat, they usually feed themselves. Is there food in the bin?
