How many villagers can you have? Is there any way to get more? When I put villagers to mate, it says there isn't enough housing. What can I do?

Reply
Makayla July 25, 2009 1:28 AM

To Melissa:The max population is 40 on Itouch and 90 on the original version. If there isn't enough room build a new hut.

Reply

Melissa -

If you are playing the original version, you can increase your maximum population by completing the collections. For each collection that you complete (find all 12 items) your max population goes up by 5. If you complete all four collections, it goes up by another 5. A village that has completed all four collections can have as many as 115 people.

Question: how do i get the laundry line? Can anyone please help?

Reply

Ok so i have everything except for the last gong piece, puzzle 14. I put the totem of my esteemed elder in the center of the mosaic. What now? in the walkthrough it says that the gong piece will appear. Does that mean right away or do i have to wait? Will it appear on the mosaic or somewhere else? I have completed the other two villagers games and all three are great! Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Reply

Bigmama4kids -

I am unsure what you mean by a laundry line. Are you talking about the clothing hut? You get the foundation for the clothing hut after you buy level 2 in culture.

Tifa -

The gong piece should appear immediately if you've placed the totem in the right place (there's a little circle in the pattern, dead center) and the mosaic floor is completely cleared. There is a known bug in earlier versions of the game where the piece does not appear, so you may want to check with your vendor to see if they have they latest version that you can download.

Someone, anyone, please help me! I have bought level two of medicine, I've even made a special stew that serves as an aphrodisiac, but none of my female villagers will carry a child! I try and try again, but whenever they come out of the little house they still don't have a baby. My village is going to die out without someone's help. Please. =[

Samiee -

How old are the women you are trying with? Women will not get pregnant after the age of 50. Make sure you are trying with younger women, 18 - 30 are the ones who get pregnant the easiest. And just keep trying.

Reply

grinnyp-
The last woman I tried to use was 25.

So, I guess no one has any other special tricks for getting women pregnant? Cause the would be super.

Reply

To Samiee:

You just have to keep trying with all the women of childbearing age. They will have a baby sooner or later. :)

Reply

Saimee -

One question, how many huts do you have? No matter how hard you try you can't get a woman pregnant if you're at your limit for housing. If you're not at your limit, all I can suggest is keep trying.

Reply

grinnyp-
i have two huts, but the game hasn't ever given me a message that i need more housing, or more food.
well, thanks for the advice. i'll keep on trying.

Reply

Saimee -

Are you playing on the computer or in the ipod? What is your population right now? On the computer version of the game you will eventually have 3 huts and a maximum population of 90. If that third hut isn't built, that may be your problem.

Reply

i'm playing on my computer, but no more worries; i have three new babies on the way. =] hehehe. i think the recipe for the soup i used helped.

i used two of the purple flowers, and one of the orange. on other sites it says this soup will rejuvenate your villagers health, but perhaps it helps fertility also?

who knows?

Ugh! Every time I start the game up, THE DAY AFTER I STARTED IT, algae is in the ocean. Next day my coconuts are gone and I don't have the tech points (yet) to buy level 2 engineering!! I'm a little upset! Someone help me!

To Alyssa:

About the food situation -

It's a tricky bit of strategy with the food at first. My best advice is to carefully manage your villagers so that you have as many as possible on the research table. Limit the new babies to only 2 or 3. Don't worry about any of the other puzzles until you get the food source secured. Food and shelter are the primary concerns when your tribe is first starting out, so keep that in mind when developing your strategy. If you have other specific problems, we have a nice walkthrough guide at the top of this page. And if that doesn't help, you can always ask more questions here in the comments.

Someone please help me, my village is running out of food, there is algae in the water, and no more coconuts. I want to know how to build a dam so i can get crops.

Reply

To Jemeca:

You need to have level 2 Engineering to build the dam. At that point, just drop a villager onto the right spot where the water is less (they will see a good spot for the dam. Then they'll start building.

Reply

Mikaela and Ziggyluvr54 -

That is actually a "posed" shot. To accomplish it you need to pause the game, then select the people one at a time and drop them on the mosaic. They're not actually dancing, there's no way to make them do that.

Ziggyluvr54 August 8, 2009 9:04 PM

thank you grinny p. that helped alot lol.

Reply

What I actually managed to do with the food situation is that I skipped the coconuts, got the dam first, and then kept having villagers to plant crops on the fields. That way, I could keep my food supply almost stable even after I fast-forwarded the time.

I noticed that if I kept planting crops on the field, the duration I needed to wait for the next batch of crops was significantly less than 120 minutes (at one point, I got it to 30 minutes). Is it just my game, or has anyone else tried that?

Chrissy- Crops always grow for the same amount of time. As soon as the crops appear, the timer starts over from that point... Not from when you finished harvesting.

Yes, she will have the baby immediately after going indoors, if she was successful. You just have to keep trying, women in the game will have babies up until about age 50.

After a few hours the women will drop the babies (how long depends on what speed you are playing at). Once the kids are 2 years old (2 hours in fast time, 4 hours in regular time) they will drop the kids and you can put them to work.

Thank you. I only had one totem pole but now I have two. How many should I have? I have 40 villagers and three huts. Is that really it? Besides the other games?

To C:

You can have up to 50 totems and up to 90 villagers. Three sleeping huts is all you'll get. All the other buildings (clothing hut, hospital, etc.) are part of the puzzles, so you should already have them. Also, you can get an additional five villagers added to your maximum population for each collection that you complete.

i have level 2 in farming and enjeening but the rest is so expensive. is there a way to get alot of tech points faster then the basic?

Reply

Joes -

The higher levels of science tech allow your researchers to gain tech points faster. This is helpful in the later stages when you need lots of tech points for the other upper levels.

Belle -

After you feed them the stew, pick them up and drop them in the water right over the piece. They will climb out, go to the top of the cliff, and dive in and get the piece.

Claire -

The usual way to gain tech points faster is to (1) have as many people as possible on the research table, and (2) having the higher levels of science. If your population is small and you need to gain tech points faster an easy way to do it is to grab all the collectibles you can find. Once a collectible goes into your collection, duplicates will bring in tech points: 100 for common items, 250 for uncommon items, and 1,500 for rare items. Constantly watch for collectibles and drop kids on them to pick them up immediately, it will help rack up the tech points faster.

Try dragging the villager to each different plant. IF they dont master it the first time, Keep trying another one til they do..... or try a different villager. They seem to learn differently.
Also, make sure you have Healer checked for their skill set.

Reply

ohhai, i found a way to not die while waiting for your crops and coconuts to grow.
if you have almost no food or posibly none, set your setting to half speed, and skip time until stuff grows :) a few villagers may die of old age in the process, but after you get enough food, you can breeed and then you have many people. i tried this and in the end i only had one male and five females, and three of the five were menopausal lol, so i could only have two kids to a time.
just one question, vcan you get twins and tripplets in vv2? i got a set of twins in vv3 but i wasnt sure is it was possible.
i heard that in vv3 it was REALLY rare to get twins OOO:!

Reply

How do you irrigate land?

Reply

Karina -

Yes, you can get twins and triplets in vv2. It's rare, but not unheard of.

Rose3986 -

You need to build a dam, see the walkthrough (puzzle 2) for more details.

Reply

Jessica -

Check your settings, you may be on pause. In that case, no time will pass.

Hattiria -

To make a stew you need to have found the cooking pot, which is hidden in the wood pile where they get firewood and building supplies (lower left of the screen). To even see the cooking pot you need exploration level 2. Once you have that, the pot will become visible in the wood pile. Drop someone on the pot and they will bring it to the fire.

To make a stew: Once the pot is permanently at the fire drop a villager on it and they will move it into the flames. Drop a villager on it again and they will go to fill it with water. Once they've added water drop a villager on it again and they will add food. Now you need to drop villagers on three different medicinal flowers (see the stew recipes in the walkthrough) and viola, you will have a stew.

Reply

JIGuest -

Are you at the very beginning of the game or is there algae in the ocean? To fish all you need to do is drop someone set to Farmer into the ocean, eventually they will fish. If there's algae, though, they won't fish until you solve the algae problem.

Flutterby -

I think that's a random event.

Cole -

Unless your villager is set to Healer they will ignore the magic plants, so make sure Healer is checked before you start dropping them on the flowers.

to get the dry grass you just have to drag some adult over just behinf the coconut trees in the little patch of grass near the edge and they will collect the grass for the fire

I'm still waiting on a little help trying to get the piece of gong picked up that was busted out of the crate. No matter who I pick to go over and pick it up the same thing happens. The villager bends over to pick it up. Down at the bottom it reads that the villager is picking up the piece of gong, but when the villager stands up you see the piece of gong for just a split second and then it's gone. The villager stands there for a moment. Down at the bottow the word "nothing" is there and then the villager goes on about their business with no piece of gong to be had. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

Reply

OK, Never mind now, I dunno what was going on but I just tried again with a couple of the villagers and the same thing happened but then I went ahead and quit the game then brought it back up to play and when I checked back at the busted crate, lo and behold the piece of gong was laying there amongst the shattered pieces of wood from the crate. Before this all that showed was the busted crate with no sign of the piece of gong. At this time I got an esteemed elder and brought them over and he reached down and picked the gong piece up no problem and is now heading over (very slowly I might add) to where it will hang with the other two pieces.

Marianne -

How many villagers do you have? You can earn more tech points by putting more people on the science table, but if you don't have the population to do that, an easy way to earn extra tech points in the collectibles that the kids pick up. A common collectible can earn 100 tech points (after the first one goes into the collection), an uncommon one can earn 250 tech points, and a rare can earn 1,500 tech points. If you need your people elsewhere to get building experience and can't have them on the science table, go for the collectibles.
