@OneNightButterfly: Yes! This is the case for VV2 as well.
@Kristi: I'm sorry to say that the appearance of the collectibles is totally random. Sorry. :(
OK solved all the puzzles, have the 90 ppl my island can support....is that it? just watch them live??
To get twins, does it matter if the female is a trainee parent and the male is a master farmer? Also, how can you tell if a female is going to have twins? Does the child look like one child or two?
I do not know if this is a 'spoiler' so I will put it in spoiler tags, just in case.
To breed, I am pretty sure a female has to be at least age 18. I do not have anyone at age 18 in my village, but I have a 20-year-old female and she was able to breed.
How do you open the box on the shore?
you need three master builders to open the box and they all need to open it together. I won't say what it contains unless you say that you specifically want to know. But, I will say that it's not urgent that you open it right away.
I've dropped my Master Farmer into the lagoon several times, but it won't catch an algae-eating fish. What do I do?
Try using a Master Scientist
How do u dump the stew to make another if you made a nasty/not edible stew???
What happens if all your villagers die??
How do you get the totems to surround the mosaic floor and get the children to go there?
What does the box on the beach contain?
I've gotten the farm, but it's starting to take a really long time to get food anymore. I have 23 villagers and by the time there's about 30 or 40 minutes until the next crop, they've gotten down to 0 food. I now have 20,000 tech points, which could be spent in level 2 medicine or culture. Which should I do? Or should I keep saving for level 3 farming? Thanks!
To Anon (who asked what the box on the beach contains):
The box on the beach contains a part of the gong.
Here's a hint. If you hear a faint windchime sound, it means that theres a mushroom or collectable somewhere on your island now.
Also, (this count count as a cheat maybe, so I'll put it in a spoiler):
If you see a collectable, pause the game (spacebar) and then drag all your kids onto the collectable. Almost all of them pick it up and you points for every single one. This doesn't work when you have only a few kids, though.
I went from 0 to 385 food by doing that with a red-topped mushroom. It helps your food and tech points out a TON!!!
You don't need to have the villagers go indoors to have children. Drag a male onto a female (or Vice Versa) Until the population goes up.
I had a villager retrieve the cauldron, but then had to walk away for a minute. When I got back, I could not see where the villager put the cauldron. Anyone know where to look?
I've got 30 villagers and everything done except 1 puzzle that allows me to get the last piece of the gong. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm sorry I didn't tell you what gong pieces I have. I have the one from the crate, one from the pond, removing the thorns. I also have the totem.
Ive completed all the puzzles and tech levels, the ancient floor is uncovered so how exactly do I get the kids to do what they are doing at the top of this page? Thanks
Becca, this might help you:
"My villager dropped the cauldron, and I can't find it anywhere. Can I get it back?
If you quit the game and launch it again, the cauldron will be in its original location and can be retrieved again. If you're playing games in more than one player slot, you can Change Tribe to another game and then switch back to the affected game and the cauldron will be back in its original location."
I have completed all the puzzles, but I don't know why it shows me that Puzzle 15 isn't done. I have retrieved the third piece of gong from the pond but the Gong still appears to be incomplete. When I try to retrieve the sunken piece again (I just tried it to see what happens), it just says "She sees the pure magical water of the lagune" or something like that. What's the problem?
Have you uncovered the ancient floor yet? You need to place the totem in the center of the floor and the piece will appear, hope that helps.
I opened crate on the beach, but while one of the builders was taking gong, girl started embracing him and gong disappeared. I tried again to retrieve it, but nothing happened - this is really frustrating. Is it a bug or is there something that I can do with it (but not restarting whole game) ?
OK so i have the vines cleared and the wall cleared everything is built and now I'm trying to open the crate and nothing i do will train my stupid builders anymore anyone got any suggestions?
I have gotten all my tech's to get and 15 out of 16 puzzles. The only one left is puzzle 14 The Inlaid/inland gong piece. I have read the writing on the wall and put the totems where it says but I just don't get the last gong piece it is the top right when you are looking at the gong. PLEASE someone HELP!!! I have been working on this last puzzle for 4 days now and still can't figure it out.
is there any way to make your female nurse faster or for a shorter period?
I have repeatedly put my master farmer and scientist in the water after reaching level 3 in farming. They both just shake their heads and are digusted with the algae. Am I missing something?
I have all the tech got 15 of 16 got a master in 3 skills got the totem put in the middle of floor and still no gong piece. any help is a plus
Doris, drop them in the pond area w/ the waterfall first. they need algae eating fish.
When I first started the game I had a "trainee scientist" learn all of the various herbs. The puzzle is not solved though. When I use the "adept Doctor", it improves the healing tech but she never "masters" the herbs. I've spent a lot of time just dropping her on the same herb repeatedly with no results. Did I screw it up by doing that first...and can I fix it somehow?
I'm having the same problem. I tried a Master Scientist and she just shook her head so I switched her to Trainee Doctor and it just improved her healing. However, I think it's like mastering a normal skill, because I've noticed that my Trainee Doctor begins studying the plants without being told too now.
hi, i have a couple questions..
firstly, do you need lvl 2 or 3 culture for the sewing hut foundation?
second... if you haven't unoovered the ancient site, if you start collecting the gong pieces, what happens?
thanks in advance
I'm having the same problem except after ages of putting them on the plants a message came up saying "Your villagers understand this plant". Now my doctors are studying them without me having to shove them on the plant. It must be like mastering a skill, it takes a while
If you haven't gotten the puzzle solved for all the herbs yet, you might just be missing one that you haven't found yet.
im just curious as to how may island events there actually are. i have 38 villagers and i've been playing for a while, but i've only exepericenced five.
For Jo, regarding the plants: (do not open spoiler if you do not want to know the exact number and location of the healing herbs)
There are SIX plants. Take one villager and make sure that they understand all six of them.
Brown: In the upper left corner, on the beach that runs horizontally.
Blue: The rose looking one that's just to the right of the thorny vines.
Purple: Top center of the sacred area for the dead.
Black: Bottom right of the sacred area for the dead.
Red: Far right edge of the pond on the bottom, right next to the edge ruined pillar (if you have the dam done)
Orange: Bottom center, along the bottom edge.
I hope that helps.
Anon.: You need to create a special stew to retrieve the gong piece, when your villager eats the stew it should say "Your villager doesnt have the need to breathe"
How do u get them to get the coconuts?
To get the coconuts:
You must have purchased level 2 farming. Then you just drop a villager onto a coconut tree.
Help Please I have been putting every totem i have on the center of the mosaic but still no gong piece do I need to do something else this is the last thing i need to complete all my puzzles
Ok, this is a tip that may or may not work for everyone else, but I've found that If I put all the kids on the little island thing inbetween the waterfall and the vines, then mushrooms, shells, etc. show up faster. After a while it stops working, but if I experiment with the number of kids on the island thing it normaly starts again.
This may seem like a dumb question, but is there any way to revive a game if you're down to only one female villager? I tried playing a new game in hard mode and when I came back to check on them, all of the villagers had died except her. She's surviving, but she will soon die from old age! I don't think there is any way to get more villagers, but I thought I would ask anyway. Maybe there's a secret I don't know or something.
The game can be fastened if you change the clock of your computer. If you can't wait for a site to be constructed for example, this could be the way. But be careful, in the meantime your tribe can die of hunger. Don't do it if you don't have enough food in the bin, or for more than one hour.
Change your computer clock at your OWN RISK! Doing this can not only mess up your game, but it will mess with any other computer function that used the computer closk. I strongly advise against it.
Sometimes babies are found in barrels as random island events, but otherwise you will probably have to just start over.
does anyone know what to do to get the children to assemble on the mosiac?
How do you open the crate on the beach?
To get a lot of Tech Points, drag all of your villagers that are old enough to work to the research table and the Tech Points go up fast!!
About the crate on the beach:
Drop 3 Master Builders on it at the same time.
how do you get the couldren
About the caldron:
It will show up in the pile of firewood after you upgrade Exploration.
I keep trying to put my farmer on the vines/wood, but she won't make the scarecrow. It says, "Needs a sharper tool", but I don't think I'm suppose to use the tools for it. Am I doing something wrong?
About the scarecrow -
You need to drop your Master Farmer on the far right bottom edge of the thorny vine area. When you float the villager over the right area, it should say something about making a scarecrow.
why is it that when i dragged my master farmer to the pond under the waterfall,it says "He sees something down there but it is too deep" ?
Well, I have a nursing mother in which on her detail screen it says "Nursing;60 min" for a long time.
Do you think she'll have twins?triplets?
quadruplets?quintuplets?or more babies?
Please let me know soon.
About the pond -
When it says that, your villager is seeing a piece of gong. Are you trying to do something different?
Unfortunately, it sounds like maybe your game is stuck. If you're going to have twins or triplets, there will be 2 or 3 babies stacked together on the mother, so you'll know right away how many there are.
Seba, this game does not end. It keeps on going even after you have finished all of the puzzles and collectibles. Hope this helps!
My farmers won't fish. I don't have the algea yet because the farmers won't fish! i put them in the ocean. they get a fish, drop it off, and water crops! I can't get them to keep fishing. any hints? i want to complete the algea fish puzzle, but i can't do that without the algea. and what are totems & how do you get them? thanks! :)
About fishing -
It's unusual to get all the way to having crops and not have algae. I can only suggest that you stay on top of your farmers and keep dropping them in the ocean. They can be stubborn sometimes.
About totems -
You get a Totem whenever a villager becomes an Esteemed Elder. When they become a Master in 3 different things, they will be an Esteemed Elder.
try to get get your dam done and keep a low population until you can get lv 3 farming
i have an adapt scientest and she is almost a master but her skill wont go up any more how do i fix this prob?? any help would be much obliged
Setting your game to 2X speed under Options may help your scientist go on to master level quicker. Other than that, it really just takes time for them to increase their experience. Make sure the villager stays at the research table.
i had her at the table for 3 hr~on 2x speed and her bar didnt move at all any thing else i can try?
You might try exiting the game and coming back in. That helps me sometimes, but it really can take quite awhile to gain experience. It's not a fast-paced game at all. Maybe just give it some more time and do other things in the game while waiting.
ty once i reset the game she bacmae master right when i turned it back on
do i need a farm before i can make scare crow?:P
Great Adept! I'm glad it worked. :)
any way to make building go faster?
There's not really a farm in this game. You plant crops for food and you will eventually need a scarecrow to keep the birds from eating them.
About the builders -
Really the only way to speed up building is to set your speed at 2X on the options menu.
ok thanks for all the help you gave me also how do i make stews?
About stews -
To make a stew, first you need the cauldron beside the fire. Drop a villager on the cauldron to begin the stew. Drop the villager on the cauldron again to get water for the stew. They you send villagers to gather the 3 herbs that you want for your stew. The last thing you do is drop one more villager onto the cauldron and he/she will put food into it. Then the stew is ready to be eaten. And beware the results of the various stews. Some are good, some are bad.
ok i click on the game and it wont load it so i go control alt delete and it tells me the program is not responding how can i fix this problem?
Well, I have solved all the puzzles. I have completed 2 collections pushing my max population to 100. I have trained up 36 elders (I'm running out of places to put the totem poles). How do I get them to congregate on the mosaic like in the picture above? And has anyone managed to finish all 4 collections?
To Program Not Responding:
You might need to reinstall the game.
I've been playing this game for awhile and my villagers have never congregated on the mosiac on their own like they do in the picture. It makes me wonder if maybe they were posed there while the game is paused.
I think you are right. On a whim I dressed up all my current elders all alike, paused the game, and placed them all on the mosaic surrounded by their totems and the totems of their predecessors. It looks a lot like the pic in the review. :-)
Did you know? When a villager drinks an oily blue liquid from a vial,he
or she will lose some skills or lose health.
If instead he/she drinks an orange or green liquid,
he/she will feel enlightened in a skill that you have checked a box. This doesn't work for children, though.
I know this sounds stupid, but how do you water the soil. It always says it needs irrigation.
About irrigation -
You need to build a dam at the narrow part of the stream. If you fly a villager over the stream, you'll see when it says "thinks they could build a dam here". The dam will irrigate the dirt and the villagers will be able to plant crops.
ok if i reinstall it wont it delete my work so far? and wont i have to re buy it
[Edit: You may lose what you've already done. As for buying it again, I imagine you will need your original key code or whatever you used to download it the first time. -Pam]
ok,do u think me haveing to change my pc clock had anything to do with it messing up b/c my pc messed up so i had to reset my clock and it made my game jump in time
ok now im mad i spent $20 on this game and it aint working i reinstalled it like u siad and still says program not responding now what
[Edit: Where did you purchase the game from? -Jay]
[Edit: Then you need to contact real arcade's customer support. -Jay]
umm my villager has mastered 3 skills why she is not a estemed elder??
Hi everyone!!! I have seen alot of people asking about the lasst gong piece in middle of mosaic. But I havent really seen this question yet. Most ev1 is saying that you put a totem in the middle of the mosaic but which totem and/or how many totems do you have to have before the gong piece will show up??? Do you have to have all 8 different ones??? This is the last puzzle I need and would really like to finish. Thanks so much!!
all you have to do is drag 1 of the totems in the middle where you see the circle piece and once you sit a totem there there will be a piece under there
also i was wondering if anyone knows about how long it takes to make 1 person a master if you make sure they never stop working
ok i have someone who has mastered 2 skills and now i need a 3rd but he is 67 and is going to die soon he is a master builder and parent he is an adept farmer (bar is a little more than half full) and a trainie doctor (bar is almost half full) which one would i be able to get him to master first?
To Need Elder:
I think your villager would have the best chance to become a Master Farmer. Doctor training is difficult and slow.
is there any way to make farming go faster like different things to farm to make it go faster
Putting the game on fast speed will make the farming go faster, but it will also age your villager faster. Farming points are accumulated at the same speed regardless of what is being farmed. I would suggest that you start training your other villagers in different things so that they can become Esteemed Elders. It's almost a lifelong process for them. Even my youngest elders are usually in the 50s when I start them training as teenagers.
wow i have a 35 year old elder how old r they normaly before they become elders?
can u find the guardian that was left on the island with the children, tofo is his name in my game not sure if it is the same in them all
To Young Elder:
The guardian of the original children isn't found. It appears to be just part of the story.
I think my youngest elder was in his 40s. If they are hard workers, they get there faster. Yours must be awesome!
There is a way to train a doctor to the master stage quicker, but it is a bit mean. What you do is make one of the bad stews, one that will make villagers sick, and drag every villager you can over to make them eat it (except your very elderly and the doctor him/herself). The doctor will get busy healing people and will gain mastery much quicker. The youngest I've ever managed for an Esteemed Elder is 41 myself.
ok i'm confussed, I have all but 1 of the collectibles, I have the statue, 105 people and have no idea what to do know.. PLEASE help me, i'm lost
Are you sure you're posting in the right thread? This one is for Virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children. There's not a statue in this game.
This may be the thread you need:
Does anyone know how I can accumulate tech points faster? I've tried having everyone research at once, and even that's not really helping. I only have 8000, and I need 160,000. Can anyone give me any tips?
Also, in the category of babies, 2 of my male villagers have become "baby crazy" and feel they need to repopulate my entire village. I have their skills set on building, or farming, but it's still not helping. What do I do to prevent being overran by children? Thanks in Advance!
About tech points -
You will accumulate tech points faster if you have the game set to 2X speed, which will also make everything else go faster. Master Scientists accumulate more tech points than other villagers, so try to get them to Master level. You can also get some tech points by picking up duplicate collectibles. If you already have a certain collectible, it will convert to tech points when you find it again. Other than that, it's just the process of letting the game flow.
About having babies -
If you happen to see the male villagers in the "embracing" stage, you can pick them up to interrupt them before they actually make a baby. Also, they will only be able to produce as many babies as the housing permits. Once you reach certain population points, it will stop until you build more huts. Growing the population isn't a bad thing, though. It will let you put more people on the research table once they reach 14.
