Room Bath

A deeply satisfying escape game presented by Place of Light, you must find your way out of what is undoubtedly the oddest bathroom you've ever come across; codes and secret panels grace the toilet, gems are scattered across the floor and weird golden masks watch over the sink and bathtub. Perhaps it's the work of some eccentric, puzzle-obsessed billionaire....who has, um, slipped, hit his or her head and forgotten how to escape? Yep, that must be it.

Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

Walkthrough for standard game:

Note - this is the whole thing, once you open it, there's no going back!

Click on the washer

Click on the pile of towels to move them

  • Collect the DIRTY CLOTH that was hidden underneath the towels.

Back out; go right

Click on the shower curtain to open it.

Click under the tub.

  • Collect the EXTENSTION CORD.

Back out; click on the gray and black cabinet.

  • Collect the YELLOW GEM (in the tub foot on the lower right).

Click on the left side of the cabinet.

  • Collect the THREE -PIP PIECE on the bottom side of the cabinet.

  • Examine the piece by clicking on it in close-up view - note the paired semi-circular holes on the back.

Back out; click on the right side of the cabinet.

  • Note the two nails holding that door closed.

Back out; open the middle cabinet.

  • Collect the MOSTLY BLANK PIECE OF PAPER.

  • Note the icon on the bottom right of the paper.

Back out; click on the gold lion over the tub.

  • Note the keyhole with the handle, the two round holes under the lions head and the triangular hole over the faucet.

Back out; go right.

  • Collect the RED GEM next to the shower curtain on the lower left.

Click on the combination lock - note it accepts four digits.

Back out; click on the toilet paper holder.

  • Open the top, collect the ONE-PIP piece.

  • Click on the cardboard roll, note the shapes of the roll holder mechanism.

Back out; go right.

Click on the drawing of the lions head - note the bowl-shaped hole where the mouth should be.

Back out; click on the sink faucet.

Pull the chain to drain the sink.

  • Collect the MUDDIED SCISSORS.

Back out; go left.

Select the MUDDIED SCISSORS

  • Flush the toilet - water will flow from the faucet at the top; hold the scissors underneath the flow so they become CLEAN SCISSORS.

Back out; go right.

Click on the cabinet under the sink.

Use the CLEAN SCISSORS to cut the string holding the cabinet closed.

Open the cabinet.

  • Collect the BLUE BOX and the FOLDED PAPER.

Back out - examine the BLUE BOX (note that it opens) and the FOLDED PAPER (it unfolds and has some drawing on it).

Back out; go right. Click on the left side of the washer.

Click on the panel on the lower left side of the washer near the wall.

The panel cover falls off and a short plug appears.

Select the EXTENSION CORD and click on the plug - it plugs in the washer.

  • Click on the panel cover that fell off - pick up KEY #1.

Back out; click on the gray and black cabinet.

Select KEY #1, then click on the keyhole on the top door of the cabinet.

Open the top door; collect the ORANGE BALLOON and collect the SCOOP.

Back out; select the washer.

Examine the FOLDED PAPER: these are directions to be used with the BLUE BOX.

  • First, you need to use the extension cord (already done).

  • Select the detergent panel on the upper left of the washer; collect the FIVE-PIP PIECE in the bottom.

  • Open up the BLUE BOX, then use the SCOOP with it - you now have a FILLED SCOOP OF DETERGENT.

  • Put the FILLED SCOOP OF DETERGENT in the detergent box. Repeat twice (per the directions on the note).

  • Open up the BLUE BOX one more time - remove the LIGHT BLUE GEM.

  • Back out; open the round washer door.

  • Put the DIRTY CLOTH in the washer, close the door.

  • Push the red button on the upper right.

  • When the cycle is done, remove the CLEANED CLOTH and note the word on there.

Think back to your elementary school days - certain words could be spelled out on a calculator flipped upside down. So mentally flip the cloth over and you have a four-digit code (it changes between a few set values).

Go back to the toilet and enter this code on the combination lock.

  • Open the hatch - collect the SIX-PIP PIECE and collect KEY #2.

Back out; and return to the tub.

Use KEY #2 to open the panel above the gold lion's head.

  • Open the panel and collect the STEP STOOL - examine and note the curved shape of the feet.

Back out; click on the bath mat.

Note the four curved shapes - they fit the STEP STOOL feet, so place the STEP STOOL there.

Click on the shower curtain rod.

  • Collect the DARK BLUE GEM.

  • Collect the STORY BOOK (the square shape on the ceiling)

  • Click on the video camera at the upper right of the screen.

  • Collect the TWO-PIP PIECE (to the right of the camera).

Back out twice; pick up the STEP STOOL.

Go back to the sink - place the STEP STOOL in front of the cabinet.

Click on the cabinets above the sink.

  • Click *above* the cabinets - collect the CROW BAR.

Back out; click on the *left cabinet*.

  • Open the cabinet, collect the HANDLE (with the two round pegs on the ends).

Back out; note the key hole on the right cabinet and back out again.

Go back to the gold lion's head over the tub.

  • Put the HANDLE in the two round holes underneath the lions's head.

  • Open the cabinet above the lion's head and click on the HANDLE.

  • A new alcove opens - examine it and note there's a space next to the red monster with the horns.

Back out twice; click on the gray and black cabinet.

Click on the right side of the cabinet

Use the CROW BAR on the two nails; collect the STRAIGHT NAIL.

Back out; open the bottom door of the cabinet - collect the ROUND RED HANDLE.

Examine the ROUND RED HANDLE and note the triangular peg on the bottom.

Back out; select the faucet over the tub

Place the ROUND RED HANDLE in the hole over the faucet.

Click on the ROUND RED HANDLE to fill the tub.

Back out; collect the BOWL AND FIGURINE floating in the tub.

Click on the BOWL AND FIGURINE to to separate them.

Select the MOSTLY BLANK PIECE OF PAPER and click on the tub. The tub is filled with hot water and will expose a 4 digit code.

  • The ROUND RED HANDLE indicates hot, the icon in the corner of the now STEAMED PAPER indicates heat.

  • Each number in the 4 digit code has a 4-sided shape beneath it. The shapes correspond to the toilet roll holder sides. (code changes each game).

Go left to the scene with the washer - click on the brown panel on the wall.

  • If you click on the panel, you'll see it's stuck. Use the CROW BAR on it, exposing a set of five test tubes and a grate.

  • Click on the grate; collect the PURPLE GEM and replace the grate.

Back out and look at the STORY BOOK you collected a while ago (note it reads from right to left, not left to right)

  • Read the STORY BOOK - note the "hero" looks like the FIGURINE you collected from the BOWL, and there is the silhouette of a horned monster.

Go back to the gold lion and re-open the cabinet with the red monster. Place the FIGURINE next to the red monster.

Back out; re-open the cabinet

  • Note that just like in the STORY BOOK, the FIGURINE'S head is now up and there is a key in his neck (as also noted in the STORY BOOK).

  • Click on the FIGURINE head to lift it up, then collect KEY #3 from the neck.

Back out; return to the cabinets over the sink. Use KEY #3 to open up the right cabinet.

  • Collect the FOUR-PIP PIECE; collect the SUPER GLUE.

Go back and open up the alcove with the two figures.

  • The FIGURINE needs a samurai sword - select and examine the STRAIGHT NAIL until you can see it's head; use the SUPER GLUE on the head of the nail.

  • Select the nail and click on the top of the samurai sword hilt in the blue figure's hand.

Back out; re-open the alcove and pick up the now dead red figure.

  • Examine the red figure and take the SAMURAI SWORD out of his chest.

  • Exmamine the red figure again, and take the FAUCET HANDLE off of his back.

Examine the ORANGE BALLOON, and prick it open with the SAMURAI SWORD.

  • Collect the ORANGE GEM.

Back out; go to the sink.

Select the FAUCET HANDLE and put it on the sink.

  • Click the faucet once to run the water and clear the mud.

  • Click the faucet again to stop the flow and examine the symbols.

These symbols are the key to filling the test tubes.

  • Orange is the faucet on top of the toilet.

  • Red is the hot bath water.

  • Purple is mixed or simply plain water that has been passed through the system once.

  • Blue is the blue toilet water.

  • Green is water from the sink.

To properly fill the test tube assembly:

  • Fill the BOWL with any water and deposit it in a test tube

  • Put the now EMPTY BOWL under the stop-cock at the bottom of the test tube assembly.

  • Click the round dial once - purple water will flow out into the bowl.

  • Collect the now PURPLE-WATER-FILLED BOWL and pour it in the middle test tube.

  • Now go around and put the appropriate water in the appropriate test tubes as noted by the code in the bottom of the sink. (To collect toilet water, you obviously need to put the lid up).

  • Once you've filled the tubes, place the now-empty bowl under the stop-cock.

  • Click on the dial over the stop-cock - the water that comes out should now be golden.

Go back to the lion drawing over the sink and put the GOLD-FILLED BOWL in the appropriate slot.

  • The drawing will flip, showing an outline drawing of the toilet, indicating a hidden panel on the floor in front of it.

  • Back out; go to the tub. The lion's head is gone and there's a panel there - click on the new panel until you get type of peg board - the pegs look like they belong to the PIP PIECES you've been picking up.

Back out and go to the toilet paper roll holder and click on each side of the holder as noted by the code on the STEAMED PAPER.

Back up; go back to the tub scene. You'll now see some white dots on the gray cabinet.

Click on the cabinet and open the doors. This is the appropriate placement for the pip pieces on the peg board (which would create a standard six-sided die).

Go back to the panel and place the PIP-PIECES. When you're done, click on the button on the lower left - the panel will turn around to re-expose the golden lion, which is now missing it's right eye.

Re-open the alcove with the FIGURINE and collect the GREEN GEM.

Go back to the toilet scene and find the panel indicated on the reverse of the lions head drawing/gold-filled bowl.

  • It's faint, but you can see an outline on the floor - it's almost in the middle, a little above the bottom boundary.

Click on the floor panel, and you see a slot for the seven gems you've been collecting.

  • Reopen the STORY BOOK; each page has one item that is colored. Place the gems in this order *as indicated by the arrow in the drawing*.

Back out a panel has opened underneath the toilet paper holder!

Exit the panel and you're out.

im stuck! haha i dont really know what to do.

i only figured

putting the dirty sheet of cloth into the washing machine, and using the cable under the tub to connect electricity.

i'm figuring i need something to put into the washing machine? i have like a square shape soon and a balloon that i have no idea what to do with it. ):

i also found the secret gem compartment. but i suppose i only found 2 out of the many many gems i have to find?

Ok I'm stuck already. Seems like a cool room :)

What I got:

Yellow gem, red gem, three blocks with 1, 3 and 5, sheet of paper with an orange code on it, sheet of paper with a brown spot, seemingly dirty scissors, a big orange balloon and another object, blue-green of colour, don't know what it is.

I'm stuck.. I can:

Put the piece of paper with brown spot in the washing machine

But after that I'm stuck.

I was able to clean the scissors
Flush the toilet and then click the scissors where the water comes from, on the top.

With the scissors you can cut the wires on the knobs of the closet beneath the sink. In there are an empty box, and another piece of paper.

okay Maqrkk

for the scissors

clean them under the tap above the toilet

I've got three tiles, a baloon, a box, what looks like a spoon sort of thing, and a couple of pieces of paper and am a bit stuck

I've gotta say... there are games that handle linear-versus-creative problem-solving in varying degrees of flexibility, and I can respect that, but I'm bummed that I apparently can't wash off my scissors or my laundry in the toilet, which clearly has water *right there* in it, especially since I can't get water from any of the other three obvious water sources in the room. :-D

Ha, ha, I was feeling a bit lost so I hit the TAB key, very funny.

The box isnt empty

it has washing powder in it

maqrkk:

the box isn't empty, it has laundry powder in it. use the scoop to get some, the load it into the slot in the washing machine.

after that i'm stuck though.

I am completely stuck! :D :P

I also found

a secret pannel in the wall that the gems could be put in. it had like 7 or 8 slots in it. unfortunately its so secret i can't seem to find it again.

I am so close to solving this, the first time ever without a walkthrough, but dammit I can't figure out what to do with

the six gemstones, 5 tiles and other items. And what is that puzzle behind the wall panel? *sigh* I also have a blank piece of paper with a logo on the bottom right and a handle that screws into a water valve of some kind. I am so lost. The fairy tale book is a clue for a color scheme, but where do I use it?

scottique, for the sissors

The toilet tank has a faucet (for some reason) place the sissors under that.

anony

Glad I can help somebody.

I'm waiting for your help cause I cant do anything anymore. I've got the same as u do!

Just a clue

the box is not empty.

There are a couple of places that seem I can't open yet. But I can't find any tools around. Grrr.

There's a small panel near the toilet (on the floor) where you put the gems. The story book is the key)hah, I'm not doing too bad on my own

anony

Suz, click

below the base of the toilet

Same thing happened to me.

okay to use the washing machine:

you need to load 3 scoops of powder (thats what the picture under the sink is about) then put the dirty cloth in the machine and hit the red button this cleans the cloth.

to open the code thing on the toilet:

the clean cloth has the word "high" on it. if you were to write that upside down, it would look like "4615". this opens it up an dgives you another number block and the key to the cabinet above the bath.

Suz:

The cloth that you washed apparently has different possible words on it. Mine was lose, 3507.

oops, in the comment above the toilet code is mean to be

4614

The code changes in each instance:

Mine was LIES, turn upsidedown and hey presto: 5317. Use on the toilet arm.

The paper with the logo

It needs hot water

for the HIGH word is:

4614

Ok, I have

four gems, 5 dice pieces -- missing the 4, balloon, book, and paper with logo.

I am trying to figure out:

how to pry the nails out of the bottom drawer, what to do with the big wood sheet on the wall, what the camera is for, how to pop (?) the balloon, what the faces on the walls are for -- bowl and handle both, and where the key for the cabinet over the sink is.

LS:

There's a crowbar above the cabinet above the sink, click the space! :)

where do you use the

code from the paper with the logo?

Suz

The code is used

in the toilet roll holder

To open the bottom cupboard:

Look above the cupboards above the sink, then on the right hand side of the bottom cupboard

After that I'm stuck

Well filled the bath tub and got a small red bowl (that I placed under the valves on the wall puzzle) and a small figurine of our hero. Now I'm stuck again. lol

How do I get hot water for the paper with logo?

I know how to wash the piece of paper

HINT: There are instruction instructions on the piece of paper in the cupboard below the sink

Put the piece of paper in the washing machine, then connect the cable, then put 3 scoops of the washing powder in the slot. Finaly press the red button.

For those of you without Casual Gameplay accounts, we do not approve comments in the wee hours of the morning, so your comments may not show up for hours unless you have an account with us.

(In other words, I'm going to sleep now, you're on your own.) ;)

LS:

to pry the nails off the bottom draw you need the crow bar, which is on top of the cupboards above the sink.
once you pry the nails off, you need to pick one up and use it to pop the balloon.

the other things should be easier once you have the bottom draw open.

Thanks Madica! Now --

Ok -- got the bowl, the figurine, filled bowl with water. Got the code from the logo paper, used same, seen dice pattern. Still missing dice piece 4 and a place to put them. Still have locked cabinet over sink I can't open.

Suspect figurine comes apart, based on book. Can't do anything with sword or head, though.

Maqrkk

The hot water

comes from the bath, just use the paper in the filled bath

Anony

Stuck in the same place you are

Found out

you can fill the red bowl from both the bath and the toilet, and use it to fill the test tubes, but all I get is purple liquid. The bowl also fits in the picture above the sink

Ok, now I've:

Opened another panel and gotten the key from the figurine. trying for the sword now. I have... superglue? but I can't do anything with it. Have all dice, can't assemble.

look in the drain of the tubes

anyone found the green gem?

I'm out!

LS

About the superglue

examine the nail, then use it on the head

I'm out! Yay!

I'm out too!

Me too! Although the whole game I didn't even realize there was no door!

Okay! I found..

Open the panel above the bath. Press the bar under the "golden" lionhead. This opens an other panel with..... a monster figure.

Well, this might not come for a few hours, but I've completed it.

Here are some hints:
for the code on the paper:

where else have you seen trapezoids like that? (further hint: it has a left and right)
Give up?

The toilet paper roll thingy.

It activates the camera ontop which shines on the 3 square cabinet.

the tube:

it is a cleaning agent.

use it in the sink.
It'll give you the code for the mixer.

the sink code:

there are 5 sources of water in this place, each corresponds to a symbol.

flush water, tub water, purple water, toilet water, sink water

dice puzzle

Placement is seen in the 3 shelf cabinet.

open the drawers

7 gem code:

It is actually put in reverse from the order that they occur in the book. In other words, from down to up.

Unfortunately you can't seem to complete the story by giving the samurai the girl, but you can get an unlimited number of green gems by removing the bowl and placing it back again. Every time you do that, it creates a new gem.

Finally made it out

That was great!

Stuck again..

Tubes:

I can fill them with cold and hot water, only get purple liquid out of it. How can I use that?

Wall with gold mask:

I open the door, pull the handle. I then find a red doll, what to do with it?

Regarding the five tubes on the wall, I have only a theory, but a hunch that it's right...

There should be five sources of water in the room: the sink, the toilet tap, the toilet bowl, the bathtub, and the washing machine. I can get water from the first four, but not from the washing machine; I feel like filling the five tubes with those five sources of water will produce something useful. Can anybody get water out of the washing machine?

Maqrkk, regarding the tableau with the red doll...

You'll need to take your hero and plop him down next to the red doll.

Once he's down, you'll need to take his head off to get at the key in his neck.

Use the key on the cabinet above the sink and get the 4-tile and superglue.

Examine the head of the nail, then apply glue to it.

Your purple dude has the hilt to his sword. Hook him up with the shaft.

Close the door. Purple dude knows how to do his thing.

Any help? I cannot find the spot to click on the cabinets above the sink.

Once completed

it says there is a second ending in this game also.
On the screen with all the Japanese writing there are 2 buttons. Use the one on the left to return to the room to find the alternate ending.
Havent found anything yet myself though.

Better be a fantastic game because it's been loading for more than 20 minutes now - with broadband...

Try to reload maybe? It loaded in a few seconds for me..

i don't get the tube thingy. after getting purple stuff out of it once then accidentally pouring it down the drain, i can't fill it anymore. and what do those

symbols at the bottom of the sink do?

I think the symbols at the bottom mean the types of water that go into each tube. But I could be wrong.
The first one seems to be the tap on top of the toilet. Second one is hot, so I figured water from the tub.. And the last has the symbol of the sink-tap.

You crazy escapees! If you could just give us the boost over the edge on how to...

work the pipes and get the green gem

...I think we'd all be in business!

where do you get the third dice piece?

...Ah. Got the tube thing.

You'll need to make purple water and put it in the middle tube, and fill the surrounding tubes with the four other sources of water. You know you've got it right when it makes yellow water. Golden water. There's no good way of phrasing that, is there?

From there, the hardest part of the puzzle is over; you should be home free.

About the pipes...

The sink holds the key to the order, match the symbols with the water types, then fill the tubes in that order

The tubes

The symbols in the sink do indeed relate to the water you must put in the tubes.

1st sybol is water from the toilet sink.
2nd symbol is hot water from the bath.
3rd symbol is purple water you get by putting any type of water through one of the tubes.
4th symbol is the blue water from in the toilet.
5th symbol is from the sink.

Start with the purple water or you will have to start again because it empties all the tubes.

Has anyone got to the point where you can put in the numbered tiles into the wall above the bathtub?

yeah. i figured that out a while ago, Power of the Post and all. like Scottique said, the washing machine water is a complete mystery.
p.s so sorry for double post!!

ohhh. OHHH!!! Awesome!! err... anyone found that green gem? and how do you know the combination for the slots on the floor? does it exist?

Myra

You need the dice pieces to get the green gem, and the story book to find the code

im not sure about this 2nd ending but

you are able to get a 2nd green gem, just do the same things you did to get the first one and another will show up

What is the code with the dice pieces? I assume it has something to do with the card.

Funny

There is an infinite source of green gems :-)

Just take the bowl out of the picture mouth and put it there again... Than back where you found the fist one.

I already have four of them...

yess!! i'm out! now, about that alternate ending...

Hey guys,

How do you get the sink working?

I am completely stuck with the dice puzzle.

I have 6 dice faces (1 through 6), I have the code on the logo paper (3142 with sloping shapes under each number), and access to the dace panel (I can add cie faces to it and push a button).

HELP!

Don't worry sorted it!

Returning to the room

All I have discovered so far is that by looking at the escape tunnel from the toilet side you can see a small panel insode the tunnel.
There is a switch under the panel with 2 diagrams that perhaps represent a battery?
Not sure yet.

One thing I HATE HATE HATE with these games is I come very far by my own and then get completely and utterly stuck, only to find out later that what I missed is one pixel hunt-ish spot which to add insult to the injury ONLY WORKS AT CERTAIN "ANGLES", and not on others.

Case in point:

The crowbar. If you click on the space "above the cabinet" when you get close (when just one cabinet is in the view), you get nothing. However, if you click at the said space when you are on the in-between screen (two cabinets in view), you are awarded with the "above cabinets" view and the crowbar.

Things like these completely spoil what is otherwise a very enjoyable game genre.

Hell, this crowbar hunting is drivin me crazy, I clicked nearly everythin but i duuno get it, maybe someone can explain this for me again clearly

I cant find last dice piece, and cant get green gem, anyone help

About the alternative ending,

there is a small pannel in the top right of the exit

which you can see when you look at the sink.

The switch in there turns the projector which has a switch on the back.

This shines near the jems by the toilet.

Out with the True Ending. yay!

On the way to second ending:

Found what does the switch in escape tube represent. Mixed second mix. Got female doll. Got heart. Stuck.

I must be as blind as a bat if nobody else has mentioned this, but I have *no* idea where to find the number 2 dice piece...

Pastian

Not sure. But might be on the left side of the drawers.

I cant open panel above bathtub, i havre handle there, but cant open it,

nevrmind, now there is a red figure, there i put the blue figure next to him and am stuck, and still cant get the 4 dice piece, and the green gem, help...........

hmm. cool.

what does the square-ishy key thing in the heart unlock?

More on the alt. ending,

the heart can be opened do give a square key

that goes into the rear of the panel above the sink

go to the panel above the bath and spin it round, it gets jammed

back to the panel above the sink to find another cupboard with a silver gem

then I'm stuck :)

To get the green gem:

Put the correct colored water in each of the test tubes.

Then,

Place the bowl on the drain, flip the switch, and watch as golden-colored liquid fills the bowl.

After that,

Place the bowl with golden-colored liquid in the drawing's "mouth" above the sink. A secret panel will then open above the bathtub. Perhaps there's something from your inventory you can use there.

Hope that helps!

even more on the alt. ending.

put the silver gem in the eye of the gold lion-thing at the bath.

then i dunno.

Notetag

The silver gem fits into something...

Remember where you got the green gem?

I might be wrong, but there could be yet another ending. After a lot of Japanese text on the true ending, you can go back into the room for a second time

Myra

The gem appears to be shining if you step back, but shining on what?

Close the shower curtain

Ok, I figured out what you meant but I then lost it fiddleing around, taking the key back out etc. can't get it back now either :( lol.

What do you do with the gems when you've got them? I've got 6, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple... is there another one I need? I'm guessing you put them in the panel by the toilet, but is there a specific order?

Thanks pimpanzee, now i have no idea how to put the dice pieces in there

i cannot get the sink tap to work...

GAH!! I can't get to the cuboards above the sink! I clicked everywhere around them and I either get that stupid mirror thing or I move a screen to the left/right! Someone help.

honeybeebear:

you need to use the tap from the back of the red monster thingy from the compartment behind the lions face thingy above the bath.

Kenshiro:

you need to put the stepping stool on the floor first. the stool is in the compartment above the bath.

people trying for the alt ending:

i can't even seem to get started. i found the

switch and turned that on but i find any red figure or key or silver gem.

can anyone help me out?

Yay, got to the true ending.

You will need to find another code and use this

to mix another bowl of water

Suz, about the alt ending

The switch in the first exit turns the projector that shines the dice clue around, you need to go back up and turn it on in its new position. Look around to see where it's shining, and that should give you a clue as to the next step

It shines next to the secret compartment with the gems in, showing a new order to fill the test tubes in

what do you do at the pannel above the bath with the dice pieces cant figure out how they go in ive looked at the light on cabinet, and put them in that order but nothing, can someone please help,

did you open the doors on the cabinet?

Greekblondenj

If you open all the cabinet doors it should become obvious. Place all 6 pieces on the panel in the correct order then press the button in the bottom left hand corner

Been stuck for ages now and finally refered to some of the hints. Everybody keeps referring to the cupboard over the sink, but I cannot click on it. What am I missing?

suz,

you need to push the button on the projector

look at the gems by the toilet and note the colours that are marked

they correspond to the colours in the sink

the markers from the projector represent the tubes

redo the tube thing using the yellow water you used earlier in the middle tube

go from there :)

Help!
I got to the alternative ending, and figured out the

projector thingy and the idea about re-filling the test tubes, but I don't have the bowl anymore (it got swallowed up behind the toilet diagram) so how do I fill the test tubes?

... so what do I do now?

I can't quite get one part right...

I assume the order of the gems is the order of the colored items in the story book. The title is green, then orange, dark blue, yellow, purple, red, and the "Happy End" is light blue. But that order didn't make anything happen! What's my problem?

SonicLover

you are close, try it in a different way

sparkybena

try going back to the golden lion and doing something there

hooray! thanks diandda!

Need help with toilet

I can see the spot on the floor when I entered the code for HIGH but I can't click on it. Tried clicking all around the toilet, all different angles, but can't get to it. What have I missed?

I cannot for the life of me work out how to get the washing powder from its box and into the washing machine. It just won't go! *Grr*

@ Jayunderscorezero

with the "washingpowderspoon"

Jayunderscorezero: you need to find a

scoop which is hidden with the balloon if I remember correctly, but you'll need to get into the cabinet first...

For the TRUE ending, there is another EXIT in the room which you need to go through...

One you put the new 4-digit code into the toilet, you will see the message TRUE and a symbol.........What thing in the room does this symbol look like??

The True exit is in the Washing Machine

OUT with True Ending. What a fantastic Escape Game!!

Made it. But can't figure out how to start the second ending...

#$%&*%!

I was trying to get the alternate ending, but the silver gem disappeared on me by a glitch... now I have to start all over! Where's the 3 dice panel?

soniclover:

to the left of the cabinet next o the washing machine.

Jayunderscorezero:

Did you find the scoop for the washing powder?

Wow. I finally got the secret panel.

I had to click like a rabid chinchilla all over the floor under the toilet... you can actually get pretty far before you HAVE to do this though!

need help on alternate ending.

i got the symbols on the courtain and matched it with the dice-cabinet.. but the code didnt work... whats wrong?

HINTS

A few hints to really get into loving the game, says the nut who's played it about ten times already. (Ooof, you get up EARLY for your escaping!)

General hints

  1. The pixel hunting. Look everywhere. If you're a seasoned escaper, you know the usual spots.

  2. Unfamiliar objects. Nothing's labeled. Don't guess at what they are. At least, that tripped me up.

  3. Examine objects. You'll use everything till the very, very end.

  4. Action leads to reaction. Check everything in the room after you do/activate something. Most are intuitive, though in at least one case it's not - of course it's possible since you don't see the mechanism.

  5. Combining and using is possible for your objects and the room fixtures. As usual.

TRUE Ending
(As of August 2008). If you want to tackle the True End after you leave the room, click the small square of Japanese in your ending screen. That should bring up a paragraph or so of Japanese. At the bottom of that, there's a long button and a short button; click the longer text.

This will bring you back into the room for part two.

Then start re-checking all your views! Remember how the gem panel was in plain sight? It's not small, but it's camouflaged.

Hard Bits

  • The "X" means mixing.

It doesn't matter what you use, as long as it produces enough to be usable.

  • Chamber/alcove

You can place things in the empty space inside the square chamber. There's no obvious shape inside the chamber, but it's in the clue.

  • Paper

    Try wetting the blank paper.

  • *Sadly* the one clue does *not* say "the pen is mightier than the sword." It's an arrow, not a greater-than sign.

  • For an extra neat detail, don't pop the balloon as soon as you are able. Try it a few steps later.

  • The final puzzle for the "fake" ending is also a brain-twist, but I won't spoil it here. ;D

I need help in putting the gems in order in the pannel i have green, then orange, blue, yellow , purple, red, then i have like 4 green gems in my inventory, but no light blue, can someone please help in detail, i cant think anymore ive been playing this for hours....thank you

greekblondenj

the light blue gem is in the washing powder box

nevermind i found it, i thought i finished with that, but it was still in my inventory

...uh, are we crediting the maker of Room Fake for this? I don't see any mention of http://ma-me.net/lamp/

I'm very much for all due credit, since they seem to be planning another game...

i'm still stuck!!! How to use the "curtain code"

Okay, stuck very close to the end...

I have in my inventory:

Green Gem
Orange Gem (Angry Samurai Face)
Dark Blue Gem (Kimono)
Yellow Gem (Oni Eyes)
Red Gem (Heart)
Detergent box (I don't know why I still have it)
Story Book

I appear to be missing:

Light Blue Gem (Happy End)

AGH!

Nevermind, I found what I was looking for. I feel really silly now.

About the alt. ending:

Putting the silver gem into the lion's missing eye makes it disappear? After losing it, I got stuck. I can't seem to do anything else with the bowl and the tubes, nor does manipulating the sink lion and the tub lion do anything. I thought I was so close, too.

I'm stuck right off the bat, as usual. Can someone help?

What I've done:

Unlocked the black & white cabinet, plugged in the washer, put the dirty cloth in the washer, drained the sink, put the red and yellow gems into the panel in the floor.

What I have:

Balloon, dirty scissors, scoop, cloth/mat with a symbol in the corner, tile with 1 dot, tile with 5 dots.

I can't get it to load :(

I'm going for the alternate ending, but I'm stuck.

I've put the silver gem into the face's eye, but it doesn't look like it's shining like someone said it should be. I've closed the curtain, but there's still nothing happening.

Trying to get the normal ending here, but don't know what to do after

I've put all the gems in the slots in the right order.

halp?

This may sound stupid, but I can't find Number 3 dice piece thingy.

Katus:

If you have all the gems and you've pet them into the floor panel according to the book, maybe you have them backwards. I had that problem too.

ahh, thank you LSN!

oops, mysterious double post :S

friedtaters:

its on the left side of the back and white cabinet.

Still do not have the green gem and getting frustrated! What am I missing? I have...

the golden liquid in the bowl, the bowl in the lion's mouth picture, which turned around to show a drawing of the toilet, done the dice puzzle and pressed the button to show the lion's head with a green eye. If the green eye is the gem, I can't click it!

Please help!

vogonviking:

from memory, you have to open the compartment in the wall, then push the handle (like before) to get into the bottom part where the figurine is. it should just be sitting there.

Stuck very near the end. I have:

red, brown (orange?), yellow, blue, purple gems; 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 tiles

I cannot find:

2 tile; storybook

Any help please?

What I'm missing seems to be the yellow gem. Where the heck did I miss it?

Suz, I've got it. Thank you, I can sleep tonight!!!!

Oh never mind. Found it.

Walkthrough for standard game:

Note - this is the whole thing, once you open it, there's no going back!

Click on the washer

I have the gems but just can't get out

the order i'm putting them in from top to bottom is:
green
light blue
red
purple
yellow
dark blue
orange
I've also tried reversing the order and starting with green then orange, dark blue, etc.

HEEEEELP!

I am doing the 2nd ending, and i see the new code on curtain and now im stuck.....any help please

Sofia,

Look at the story book for the order the stones go in...

Sofia

where did you get the order from? Do you have the story book?

greekblondenj

Where would you put a 4 digit number?

for other ending I am putting 4 digit #

2463 by the toilet and nothing

HELP!!!

diandda:

I got the order from

the story book

Help! What is the code from curtain, and where does it go, anybody.

greekblondenj

The code from the curtain goes in the toilet panel. I am not sure why yours isn't working. Sometimes it doesn't let you do things until you have done something else first. Have you found the panel in the tunnel? Have you pushed a button on the video camera? Maybe you need to reverse the numbers or check the numbers, I know I got it wrong the first time and needed to look at the cabinet dots again to get it right

Sofia

Good, but you do need to put it in backwards. Check your order, it must change for different people. As I said in the previous post, sometimes it doesn't let you do things until you have done everything else. Try looking at the walkthrough and checking that you are OK up to this point

Thank You diandda, Finally got it.........

Hm, I think I just messed up and lost the silver gem. I...

...put it in the eye socket, then (unable to get it do do anything interesting) I tried to get it to spin around again by replacing the bowl in the lion drawing. When I re-opened the die puzzle and hit the button, the face swivelled back without the eye, and since nothing's happened, I assume that's a bad thing.

I can't seem to work the toilet paper roll. I have the numbers 3142 on my sheet but I can't figure out how to do it on the holder. Nothing that I try works and what am I looking for after I get it right?

Hi JIGuest,

Have you removed the toilet roll? You need to click on the bits that hold the toilet roll in the order stated (left 3 times, right once, left 4 times, right twice. I can't remember what happens when you get it right.

JIGuest:
If that is the code it gave, then:

click the left one 3 times,

right one 1 time,

left one 4 times,

right one 2 times

If that doesn't work, then...?
Recheck the hankey again?

This was a a pretty fun game. One thing that bothered me about the game (and escape games in general) are things that cannot be accomplished without certain prerequisites when in real life anyone could easily do them.

For example:

Not being able to get the bowl and figurine from the tub without filling up the water, or not being able to pop a balloon without a nail.

Still, I guess it's still part of the fun of escaping from rooms. Either way, Weekday Escape is the highlight of my week!

Walkthrough, Alternate/"True" Ending

If you were paying attention, you saw that all the writing under the Congratulations indicated you were at the "Fake" ending. Clicking on the larger, left "button" at the bottom of the text brings you back into the passageway.

As with the first part, this exposes the whole walkthrough; it starts assuming you've completed the standard/fake game.

Go back out the passageway; go right to face the sink

Click on the outline in the upper right corner of the passageway.

  • Click on the smooth-cornered rectangle; uncover the white switch with an icon that looks like a battery.

  • Click on the left end of the switch to change the icon - the icon actually represents the video camera.

Back out. (If you don't have it, collect the STEP STOOL to put in front of the tub.)

Go examine the video camera and click the button on its now exposed rear.

Back out and go back to the toilet - note the light shining on the floor.

Examine the gem panel area - note the long, cut off ovals near the gems.

This is a code to re-fill the test tubes:

  • blue (toilet bowl)

  • red (tub)

  • yellow (the gold water)

  • orange (toilet faucet)

  • green (sink)

Back out - collect the bowl from the lions head drawing and re-fill the test tubes as noted.

  • Place the BOWL on the grate and click on the stop-cock. The bowl doesn't fill but a cabinet appears over the test tubes.

  • Open the cabinet, collect the FEMALE FIGURINE.

  • Re-collect the BOWL.

Back out and go open up the panel behind the gold lion.

  • Place the FEMALE FIGURINE next to your original FIGURINE.

  • Back-out and re-open the panel; collect the HEART.

  • Examine the HEART, collect the SQUARE PEG.

Back out, go back to the lions head drawing. Place the BOWL in the mouth to reveal the toilet bowl outline drawing.

  • Note the square hole in the lower right corner - place the SQUARE PEG in the hole.

Back out - go back to the tub and try to re-expose the gold lion using the dice-puzzle button. The panel will only rotate 90 degrees.

  • Back out, go back to the lions head drawing. You'll see the square peg has blocked the panel from rotating and exposed a cabinet.

  • Open the cabinet, collect the SILVER GEM.

  • Back out, go back to the tub and click on the partially opened gold lion panel to close it.

  • Back out, go back to the lions head drawing and remove the SQUARE PEG.

  • Back out, go back and re-expose the gold lions head.

  • Place the SILVER GEM in the right eye of the gold lions head.

Back out, and note how very shiny the SILVER GEM looks. Close the shower curtain to expose a diagram.

  • The diagram has two parts, which indicate a new four-digit code for the toilet.

  • The top part of the drawing refers to the location of the pieces in the die/pip-piece puzzle. (Despite the camera being turned around, you can still check the black and gray cabinet for the appropriate numbers.)

Enter this new code into the toilet and open the hatch.

  • You'll find the word True and a symbol of two concentric circles.

  • What in the room looks like two concentric circles? That would be the washing machine.

Open the door to the washer, and you find the true end (with a whole bunch of text and a way back into the room, so maybe there's even a third ending, but I don't have to elevate my ankle anymore so I don't have the time to find it...)

For those who are frustrated with the gem puzzle

You may need to switch the dark blue and light blue gems. I thought the title looked to be a brighter blue, but it matched the darker gem.

"is a veritable font of such enjoyment."

I think you mean "is a veritable fount of such enjoyment."

[Edit: 'font' can mean 'fount'. Look it up. ;) -Jay]

I was so greedy that I kept on collecting the green gems by doing the monotonous routine and filled my empty inventory boxes. Then when it got filled and when I clicked on the bowl, I did seem to take it, but since there was no space in my inventory it got lost!

Now I have no bowl! Lots of green gems - no space in my inventory except 1 - and don't know what to do from there to end the game.

:(

Thankfully I saved it some time back - shall replay now.

"Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction."

I'm out with true ending - with help of course!

Truly most satisfying, gratifying, and mystifying!

Best escape game within four walls of a bathroom! :D

This game's awesome!! One of the best game I've played so far! Thanks!

i love the cabinet with the lights!!!

Fun game, but one glitch I found was with the sink taps on back of red monster. You only need one, yet it does not disappear when you click it, and if you click it again, it will fill up another slot in your inventory. I lost the samurai sword (nail) and couldn't end game because couldn't get the orange gem as all my available slots were full when I went to get the sword. I collected it bu ti doesn't show up in the inventory and had to restart game from the beginning

WOW LOVE THIS GAME!

haha and the true end's pretty cool..this is a sequel to Room Fake isn't it?
with all the conversation at the end being the same old
"yet another has found the true end.....need to make a better one" etc..

lovelovelove this game <3<3

Apparently, the other game featured in the week day escape has been removed due to quality concerns. Was this games called "variety", where each choice you make is either good or bad, and has loads of alternate endings? The one I really want to play?

I found some switching device or something like that. In the end, when you have already way out, you must look at the sink and in left corner in the hole to way out, is some cover. Click on it and you will get to it. Than click again and you will see some switch. That's all I know.

Hmm, it's not loading. I wonder why....

[Edit: Fixed. Thanks for the heads-up! :) -Jay]

There, I beat it! Now, I'll be ready for when they make a fourth one :P

Has no one beat the third ending? You definitely can go back in a third time, so there MUST be more. However, I'm at a complete loss, and no one else seems to have mentioned it. :(

I love a good, challenging escape room game as much as the next guy, but this one was ridiculous. I lost interest after a while because their game play was non-linear and the required steps did not seem to head towards the goal any time soon. Also, knights-in-shining-armor fantasy style nonsense and pretty gems have no place in room escape games. Whatever happened to solutions that use real-life objects? Sorry, but dolls mysteriously dueling in a magicigan's-style trick cabinet are so far-fetched as to be a turn off. Dear Place of Light: nice try, but you get an F on this one.

For a brief moment, I thought the next object after the heart was a pregnancy test. :-)

Crikey, filling those bowls was tedious.

What is the order of the gems? I've gone by the book order but to no avail.

It took me awhile, but I finally managed the True ending, and worth the time. Don't think there's a third ending though; perhaps they simply want you to go back and look at the Lose ending if you hadn't don't so already.

Cute little bug:

You can get as many green gems as you want simply by repeating the first process!

wow!!! I LOVE this series!!!
I was stucked a lot but get the info. in here
and finally I've completed!!!!!
I did room fake, room bath, and loom dawn.ioi
so I'm gonna play room marine this time
thank u for all the users that gave me hint!
hehe

Translation of the TRUE ENDING.

△SPOILER WARNNING▲
This is the translation of the dialogue you see after your achiving the TRUE ENDING. It will tell you what the whole thing is.
And. THIS TRANSLATION IS AWFUL. I'm sorry about that.

=================================

"…F-02. This guy pass the 'Ture' one."

"…Achiving 'Ture' again. He has capacity that beyond our imagination.…Needless to say, F-01 is excellent, but maybe he would be stuck here."

"--'Lineage determines everything'. And sure enough it does, doesn't it? All are presided by destiny… by FATE, exactly."

"However, it's clear that he can't come up to the brilliant F-O1.…"

"Nope. F-01 is outstanding, but F-02 also keep a big protential. It's not unvealed completely yet."

"The number of successes is …18. Not very good, but satisfactory."

"How many people can be 'challengers' at last? … It's interesting."

"I think so."

For those of you still playing and are totally confused by the gem puzzle (as I was, despite all the help that's on this page - probably due to my inability to process language too well), here it is

The order is reversed from the order in the book with the exception of the title page which comes last - yeah go figure!

Order of gems starting from the top

blue (light)
red
purple
yellow
dark blue
orange
green

I found it on another cheat page.

SECRAT?!!!??!?!?!?!?

Instead of going through the tunnel at the end, turn so you can see the right side of the inside of the tunnel. You can barely see a panel. Click on it, and flip the switch inside.

o.O

to get the green gem follow this :

you need to first turn yourself facing to the cabinet, on which you can see several white dots that usually appear on a die.open all the boxes and remember the layout. By now you should have all the faces of the die in your inventory. return to the bathtub and open the white box where before it should be the lion. lay all the faces of a die onto the panel and press the bottom left button. then it would transform to what it was as before. open the upper box and pull the handle below the lion. on the left of the blue suit man it is the green gem

I found a glitch!

After you get the green gem, go back around to the sink, take the bowl back, and then put it right back in, so that the picture of the toilet with the secret panel comes around again, then turn back around to the bath tub, and the panel will be back. Open it and click the lower left button again, then open the cabinet above the gold lion again and click on the handle once more, and another green gem will be there! Rinse and repeat!

I give this one 5 Stars...It kept me busy for hours, and although I DID have to get a nudge of help now and then from the walkthrough, it ultimately all made sense when completed. Without a walkthrough, it would seriously have taken weeks to figure out. My only big complaint is: Would it have been THAT HARD to make the COLORED WATER in the TEST TUBES appear to be filled with the CORRESPONDING COLORS??? I mean REALLY? Would it have been THAT HARD TO DO, MR PROGRAMMER MAN??? LOL!
When I got to the very end I found it ridiculous at first that the order of the gemstones was reversed, and then I had an "AH-HA moment"...
"OH! YEAH! I guess if you're reading THE STORY whilst SITTING ON the crapper, then that WOULD be the correct order to place the gemstones!" ROFLMAO!! GOOD THINKING and LOGIC, on the part of the programmer!
If any other players out there know of games similar in quality to this one, please tell me. Submachine's, Worldgate's, and Imagia's are my faves.

I am not sure I understand the first part of your complaint, SDRanger. These testers are clearly magic, anyway.

As for the second part, one of the diagrams has an arrow to show you the correct direction. Well thought-out and logical.

You need to discover Neutral, like, yesterday.
