Weee~ Sweet Looking Roguelike! Can't wait to give it a try. ;)

This came out about a year ago, and it's one of the more polished roguelikes out there. Here are a couple tips:

1. Immediately turn off auto-leveling in both your skills and classes. You will need to micromanage your XP to efficiently level your chosen classes. Accuracy is critical, as later enemies are tough to hit.
2. Ranged combat and defense is very important. Many enemies have ranged attacks, and some will run from you if you get too close. If you don't have the ability to kill enemies at range while withstanding ranged attacks, you will die.
3. The ranger class is great. Unlock it by leveling warrior and rogue to 5.

How do you level up classes?

You go to the class menu (it's the picture with a helmet on the upper right). You'll see a list of classes, with a bunch hidden. If a class has an "up" marker next to it, then you meet the prerequisites. Select the class and hit the plus button to spend experience to level, and gain new skills/passive bonuses.

If you don't meet the prerequisites, you can hit the plus button (or maybe hover over it, I can't remember) to see what skills you have to level to gain access to the next class level. When you meet the requirements to unlock a new class (most require you to level unlocked classes to a certain point), then it will appear in the menu as well.

If you were to get the warrior to lvl 5, then die, then start a new campaign, would warrior lvls carry over?

Am I ever going to meet a kindly, desperate shopkeeper in the middle of these dungeons, or should I just drop/trash my unwanted items?

Yes... drop trash what you won't use.
