I think my computer is acting stupid

After I jump into the hole at the start i move around a blank area

i cant find the source of the ringing and i move to the right and i vanish but the moment i start moving to the left i pop back up

i cant go past the left wall but i walk towards the right for what feels like forever

what do i do? do i just keep walking? or is my computer acting weird?

I know of a way to get a decent amount of food without touching the honey.... but it takes at least a few days, and if this was said already sorry

If you pause the game for a day you can come back the next day and the chief will create magic food, then when he/she is done pause the game and wait another 24 hours and drop the chief on the food bin again. it works but takes forever.

The puzzles for Cat Got Lost seem to be randomly generated. Starting with level 13, I had to reset the level any number of times because the puzzles were literally impossible. Eventually, though, it would give me something solvable.

For level 14:

Use the regular shots to knock the boxes out of the way, then use the triple shots on the microwaves to knock them off. Use the explosion shots on the art, and set them off (clicking while the ball is in mid air), as close as possible to the art for maximum damage.

Valerie Porter and the Scarlet Scandal - Walkthrough

General Tips

There is no time limit, except one hog-scene per chapter. If you fail with this, you will get less points, but you do not have to do it again.
There is a point system - as faster you finish a scene as more points you get, but playing in your own pace will not be punished in any way and has no influence on the games process.
You can restart every location as long as you are still in it. After you finished it, there is no way back - except you will have to go there again later in the game.
The "Recap" button allows you to look up, what you have discovered so far.
Sometimes you will have to choose on the map, where to go now, sometimes you will be brought to the next location automatically. When you find your map with more than one location to choose from, you can go where ever you want. Just make sure, that the newsroom, where you write your articles, is the last location you choose.
Not all objects are simply named, sometimes you will get hints as "a sour fruit" (lemon) or "something to scrub the sign" (brush).
Objects you find with numbers behind can (but do not have to) be chained. Keep your left mouse button pressed and drag your mouse from one object to the next. As more objects you chain, as more points you get. Each chained object will bring more points than a single one.
Beside the points, a chain-action refills your hint more quickly.
The light bulb low left corner is one of your to ways to get a hint.
The hint is endless but needs some time to refill.
There are two options to reload the bulb more quickly: Chain same of the kind objects and find batteries.
Two batteries can be found in each scene. Collect them and they will be added to the number you see below your hint light bulb. When you need a hint, but the bulb isn't filled, click the numbers and the light bulb will be recharged at once.
Coming back to a location the second time (or more), you will have two batteries again, hidden at another place.
Batteries can be taken into the next location, but not into the next chapter. You will start each chapter with no batteries.
Not used batteries will be rewarded with bonus points at the end of a chapter.
Collect the batteries latest before you click your last object.
Clicking one of the items in the search list will show you the silhouette in the glass ball right next to the hint - light bulb.
There is no recharging time, you can do this as often as you want.
Items on your search list written in red are hidden. You will need to use an inventory item to find them.
Hovering over the scene with your mouse, you will sometimes see a question mark. This are the places you need to use an inventory item.
Click the "Inventory" tab at the bottom of your screen and choose the wanted item. Click it at the place with the question mark. When it is the right item, you will see a exclamation mark. If there is still a question mark, you are using the wrong item.
Most of the inventory items are used in the same scene you find them.
Mini-games can be skipped by using the skip button. It will need a moment to charge.
To skip a mini game will cost you a few point from your overall score but there is no further punishment.
You can also skip the dialogs, but this might be a bad idea, as you will need the informations for some of the mini games. Skipping the dialogs will might make you need to skip some of the mini games.
The game has an auto save function, but mini games will have a reset and you have to play them again, when you leave the game in the middle of a mini-game.
Each scene (not location) hides 5 bells.
Bells can be shown as church bells, service bells, drawings, door bells, jingle bells and every other kind of bell.
Finding 50 bells will be rewarded with a medal as well as all 100 medals.
When you find all five bells the first time, you come to a location, you will not have new bells when you visit that place the second time.
When you did not find all the first time, the remaining bells will still be there, when you return.
But as you do not know, if you return to a location, it is good to collect them all first time.
You will need to do this before you collect your last item from your search list, as the scene will close as soon this one is found, no matter if you found all bells (or batteries).
Search objects are not random - they are shown in the screenshots together with the bells and the batteries.

The Mini-Games

There are six mini-games, you will all have to play more often. They will get harder with the time.
Persuasion tactic puzzle - You will need the right answer for the conversation to go on. Follow the line from the word "Correct" on the right to the sentence on the left. Click the sentence.
Search the words puzzle - while playing you found information by searching, puzzle or conversations. Your goal is it to find the right words for the umbrella terms on the left. Click the first letter of the word you found, keep the mouse button pressed and click the last letter of your word. When you are right, you will see it on the left.
Writing articles - On the left, Valerie starts writing the article about the found informations in the played chapter. You will have to fill in some words - a choose list you find on the right. Click one of the words and it will appear in the article. After finishing the article you will see it complete. Green words mean you did everything right, red words are at the wrong place - click to remove and replace them.
Headline puzzle - To make a head line, place the letters in the correct place. Right placed letters will turn dark and lock. You can place letters in any order. Duplicate letters can be used in any spot, there is no order.
Darkroom puzzle - You will need to have a solution with ph-value 7. The upper number is the ph-value the solution has right now. You will have to fill liquid from the bottles at the right into it, to get the correct ph-value. The problem is, that most of the labels have been fallen off. So you will have to try out and see what the liquid does. If you have a ph-value 10 and pour liquid in and the ph-value changes to 12, you know that bottle adds 2 to the ph-value. Best way is to click the label at the bottle, so you will know, what it does. Try out, till you find the combination to get ph-value 7.
Focus the picture - You have two layers of a photo and want to match it by using the arrows at the right side. When you have the picture set up perfectly, an arrow will appear on the left point to the exposure button. Until that arrow appears, you can’t press the button.
For the Screenshots: Clocks are marked with a green square, batteries with a yellow and inventory items with a red square. As the objects are not random, they are also marked with yellow circles.

Prologue/Tutorial

Crime Scene

To find the correct answer follow the line from the word "Correct" on the right to the sentence on the left.
Click "Valerie Porter from the Informer"

Place the hat on Valerie's head in the mirrow, the scarf around the neck.
Eyeliner goes at the eyes, blush on the cheeks and lipstick on the lips.

Chapter 2: The first Assignment

Archive

You will receive 3 files to go the archive (files are in your inventory after the conversation with Mr. Hart).
You will be taken to the archive automatically.
Look for batteries and bells.
Find the objects from your list.
The three keys will go into your inventory.
The all do have a different shape at the end and so do have the three file cabinets at the top.
Inside inventory you will be able to see the shapes of the keys better.
Open your inventory and place the keys according to their shapes at the file cabinets.
The triangle key goes to the left cabinet, the square key to the far right and the circle key to the right cabinet in the front.
The keys will open a drawer of each cabinet.
The drawer do have a label on - Letter, roman number or a number and so do have the files in your inventory.
Place the files into the according drawer.
File L goes to the left, file II in the far right and file 7 in the right cabinet in the front.

ButaVX was awesome! If it were a little longer, it would deserve its own review. If you only play one of these games, play ButaVX. Short and very, very sweet.

Home was pretty sad =( Nasty, brutish, and short.

I played about half an hour of Umbrella adventures. Even with the graphics turned down, it was pretty slow to play, especially the dialogue. Sitting around for 3 minutes for the duck to tell me I can whack things with an umbrella was annoying. I really like the aesthetic and the generous (lack of) life system.

This game is opaque and sometimes frustrating, but also a lot of fun despite all that. It kept me hovering at the "okay, let's try this" phase, with a long time before the point of, "Fine, if nothing works, could someone else at least point out how I'm supposed to connect step F to step G?" Unfortunately, that happened at the times the controls confused me, like the number pad not putting out the same number I inputted, unlike every other one.

I didn't even know that meant I was on the right track!

It pulls that misdirection multiple times, especially later on, but thinking about the puzzle or trick as a whole can help you realize it.

I noticed that not only were the lights off-key with the music, but why were there three locks for only one new thing?

I actually have a problem with the dirty word at the end, which is just that it makes it look like the game is being rude to you for completing it. I was actually expecting something along the lines of a "WTF Bomb", but it fit with the theme of being devoid of everything but gameplay. For a suite of brainteasers, just finishing it is as rewarding as any "You Won" screen.

Unless you want to have fun, then just cary over after you have claimed your title, and keep loosing and clicking continue. you keep getting money. and, after the first battle, go to the barracks and click on your charrecter. below the new recruit, there will be a drop down arrow. click that, go to the bottom, and click the last one. you will not have to do anything. if you get capable, click that one.go for storage and repairman. focus on one type of gun, and dont have ppl who are the same type. always hire rouges. make them focus on small gun, and get them a lazer pistol. have someone who has big gun level 11. If you arent that lucky, find someone who has big gun, and focus on that one. IF you have someone who has lvl 11 big gun, then get them a gravity gun, and if you get two of them, then your set for the RAGNAROK. make sure you have a lot of grenades. i will bring more hints, and tips when i can remember some more. have a fun time player, john over and out!

For the second secret:

Go to where you picked up the cube and enter the pattern on the terminal on that wall.
The pattern is:
00000 01110 01010 01110 00000.
Now go outside to where you first got on the elevator, and go to the left, go back the tunnel you came out of and keep going. There should be a second tunnel you can now get in, and the secret is down there.

Most Flash games (this one included) are designed for a mouse, not a touch pad.

Touch pads are input devices of convenience made expressly for portable computers. (Do you see them used on desktops? No.) If you use a laptop as your primary computer, invest in a small portable mouse. You'll be glad you did. :)

Also, if the game lags at all, be sure you don't have other tabs open (especially with Firefox), since Firefox is still single-threaded in its current release.

For a multi-threaded browser, use Chrome (hopefully there will be a Mac version soon).

i found out hot to get the item in the training area. But its only a flake cannon you go on the stair steps where the enemy is use time distort step on very edge make sure u have the black hole generator . use time-distort and jump using hyper jump at the same time while in mid air use the black hole generator and youll get up

A nitrome game on a link dump? This is just as bad as when JIG 'dumped' Off the Rails into one of these, and nobody gave it any acknowledgement that it was even there; they were too busy playing the flash version of Portal. Sure, I do hate waiting for my oppents to shoot their arrows, and B.C. Bow Contest may not be that great of a game, but I would like to applaud Nitrome for only giving us payment options for extras, rather than levels (which they did when they wanted us to bu half the game of Twin Shot 2). I am a huge Nitrome fan, they are the reason I found JIG in the first place. Because I expect more great games from them, I will buy the bonus material with mohicoins. Thank you Nitrome, for letting us play the entire game for free. I will now go to your site and bask in the light of your flash games. Cheers!

Such a great game, but I'm remembering why I never finished it--it is almost impossible with a touchpad. Add that to the lag in some of the mini games and it's a combination for failure. Still, fun to play with even if I know I can't finish it.

First I didn't enjoy this game much because I found it to be too hard and checked the walkthrough a lot.

I didn't like the 'first everythin^' puzzle. I never would have figured it out by myself. I would have liked a positive feedback-perhaps a clicky sound?- when I was clicking the tetris blocks. The painting at the end however, made up for all the difficulties. Brilliant.

Me too Katherine. Every time I got to the end of a level and the cat meowed, my cat looked at me with daggers, so I had to turn the sound off. Such a cute game though.

Number Ninjas was a bit too buggy for me. There was a point where I couldn't not be seen and still stand in a position where I could shoot the enemy.

New elemant! its...... BIRD! it flies around and avoids most stuff.
Fun facts.
1.It kills ants but is killed by tunneling ants. isnt that wierd?
2.if thunder touches it, it turns into fire. cliche?
3. if a player gains the bird attribute, 2 things can happen. 1 is if the player is on a solid object eg. block pressing down can grant IMMUNITY from fighters. the godsend of survival. the other is whle holding down jumping is higher and falling is slower.

Grandma here again. Thank you for posting the link that explained your rating system. It was my error in not knowing about the little yellow face or understanding how you rate the various games. It was a very good explanation and the ratings clearly allow the player to proceed at their own risk. I'm glad I voiced my complaint, because now I know how it works.

AS to the poster suggesting I got too worked up over the "naughty word" at the end -- I won't apologize at my disappointment at something offensive being slipped in to the end of a game, or my intent to protect my grandchildren. Is it worse to expose kids to the raw stuff that's out there, or to overprotect them from it when you can? I think I'd rather make the mistake of protecting them as long as possible, until they reach an appropriate age to handle it. Let's allow kids to stay innocent a while longer. My opinion.

Thanks, Jayisgames for a great website providing many hours of distraction from the stresses and complexities of every day life. I still enjoy pulling up FlOw and Aquaria which you featured many moons ago. And I've loved games like Virtual Villagers and Fish Tycoon, which I purchased after first experiencing them at your site.

Ah yes, the jelly boss...

...the trick is to get him to inhale a bomb. The only time you can do this is as he's about to do his flame attack; you'll hear him breathe in heavily and at this point you need to drop a bomb right in front of him. Don't forget you can also pop in to the castle to talk with the king and gain a few tips! :-)

For those of you that were having trouble with the text in B.C. Bow Contest I can confirm this has now been fixed! You might need to clear your browser's cache and reload the game to see this. Also if anyone had problems playing on a Mac with Firefox we've fixed it now so that you can let go of the mouse outside of the screen.

Viewpoints was okay. It would have been great to see several viewpoints of characters other then the woman. Maybe even the birds' viewpoint "Love to poop on convertibles - no roof" or the sun, or someone in the plane...
Having

five (?) different viewpoints from one woman about how she was treated by a stranger/brother/lover

was a little bleak.

I played Perspectite when this version of Link Dump Friday was released, and I really like it. A novel approach and a new way to think. Doesn't seem to be loading at present though.

CCPG: Well, I'm on Windows and having the same problems as Mac users I think. Couldn't CCP anything. Except the Gnome on the first level.

i just played this game, and thought it was the funniest thing i have done all day. i especially liked how the narrator spoke, and how he reacted when you wanted to do something impossible (like go east when there is no path leading that way). in my opinion, it was short but extremely funny.

To win without an ally, you need not to pick the best starting point, but the one, that can defeat the closest enemy, before the other two arrive with significant forces.
After a while, the game is more about figuring out the weaknesses of the AI, than having a good strategy, so, as everyone else I guess, I hope there will be a multiplayer mode.

To Kill the bears make sure you go after them with a posse, I used my hero 3 gunslingers and a sheriff and 3 deputies and they fell quick. Make sure you have the tannery first or your wasting you time killing them

Wow, I enjoyed that through-and-through. No boss took more than a few attempts to figure out. All of the real difficulties can be solved by upgrades.

Except for that bleepin' jumping hand monster!

A few barely-useful tips, if you need them (don't read until you've played it some, though!):

You can save yourself a lot of trouble with the dinner plates by bombing the area where they land after the first hit. If you time it right, you can destroy all the silverware at once.
The key to those hand monsters is to drop the bomb right as it tips over the crest.
More powerful bombs are important. So is bigger bomd radius. I didn't get a single specialty bomb, or the limited-use crash helmet.

@Joye, snowmoon: yeah, that's exactly it. Any time you click outside the Flash field, the game displays the pause menu. It's not a bug, just an unusual way to present it (especially since there's no time limit or enemies chasing you)

@E-Rock: I missed that as well. It's written on one of the steps in level 1, which I probably jumped over rather than landing on. It's a great idea, terrible jumping functionality though. I think in this case, I'd actually rather do math than platforming. And that's sayin something!

What's up with B.C. Bow? After every round, it shows what appears to be a blank scorecard. Are they supposed to show me something, or is it just hiding a loading screen? The levels seem to unlock fine..

And speaking of Nitrome+many other game hubs: Does it happen to anyone else where audio ads on games that load quickly will continue playing the ad's sound all the way through, even though the loaded game has chosen to start? I see this happen quite often. It's kind of annoying.

I know it's your choice how to raise your kids and grand kids, but I think some people get a little worked up when this site obviously goes out of its way to monitor content and they do a great job. You were "horrified?" Really? Here's a great money making tactic, if you're using the continue function.

I had a laser pistol, grenade, grenade, then ragnarok.

Hit 2,3,4 while aiming at the left side of the screen, you are launching 2 grenades, then summoning the dragons just as they hit.

Then start laying into them with the laser. You will kill most of them, and get a LOT of money. Use the money to upgrade a lot. When you get good at it, you can finish off the dragons, and you will gain many, many levels.
