Link Dump Fridays

DoraIt's my understanding that Spring has officially sprung, although if you're like me and stuck in Florida, it's less "refreshing breath of renewal after Winter" and more "SUN MAKES YOU SUFFER PUNY HUMAN HOR HOR HOR". So why don't I turn the air conditioner up this weekend and we'll beat the heat with some games together?

  • Rise of the TitansRise of the Titans - Guaranteed to bring out the monster with you, this big, stompy action game from Evil Space Chicken is all about trying to pound other monsters into the dust while they try to do the same thing to do as helpless tiny humans scatter around your massive feet while their villages are destroyed. Just watch out for the kids with the freaky zipline swords and the massive drama baggage.
  • Aliens Hurry's HomeAliens Hurry's Home - Clunky translation aside, BenGAMEn's physics puzzle platformer sure is cute. Control a squishy, sticky alien trying to find its way to its spaceship in each level without being electrocuted or worse! On the easy side, to the point that the first level will literally win itself if you leave it long enough, but simple and charming as the dickens, whatever dickens are. Just the ticket for the little blue sentient booger lover in your life.
  • ZivaZiva - In this strange puzzle platformer from Aimar, the world is your plaything, for you wield that most mighty of powers... the copy/paste! In order to reach the seemingly unattainable gem floating in each level's trippy void, you need to cut and manipulate the surroundings to make a path, but be careful since you can even duplicate yourself, and there has to be enough gems to go around.
  • Tony Hawk DemakeTony Hawk Demake - I might be a terrible person. I only watch American Idol for the auditions (I call it "dream crushers"), and Gordon Ramsay and J Jonah Jameson are my heroes. I guess there's a tiny part of me that enjoys human suffering, which must be why I find repeatedly wiping out in this hilarious little skateboarding physics game by Greg Sergeant so entertaining. It's short and simple, made for Ludum Dare, but goodness if it isn't amusing. Crunch! Spurt! Wheee!

Confused by Tony Hawk Demake. Opening screen is a bunch of blocks that look like they should be letters, but aren't. They are literally all variously-sized rectangles. Nothing is selectable and no key I try does anything.

Ziva reminds me of a game we covered long ago. It was very similar, only the player had to fold the level instead of copying and pasting it. I wish I could remember the name...

@SonicLover--

I believe you might be thinking of Nitrome's Fault Line.

No, no, that wasn't it. There was another one. It began with the protagonist jumping off a cliff...

What am I not understanding about Ziva? On level 4, I keep being told "Level failed: more crystals required" even though it said one crystal required and I got one! I've been

copying a block of nine with the crystal in the center, and pasting it one block to the right so there are two crystals and I can jump up to one of them.

So where am I going wrong?

Your problem, baileydonk, is...

...that if you copy and paste a crystal, the "Crystals Required" number increases. The level is only complete when there are no crystals left on the level.

SonicLover, the game you are searching is 'Soom' I guess ;)

Ziva has been developped by the same girl and Soom got a good rating (4.3/5).

Not happy about the cursor freeze while moving in the first game. But maybe it's just Chrome acting up.

OMG! Rise of the Titans is based on a Japanese manga of the same name. That's the first web game I've seen that's based on a manga.

???? Ziva won't let me pick up both of the crystals and keeps telling me I've failed.

Oh my god, all my memories of playing that Tony Hawk Pizza Hut demo just came rushing back.

It even has (albeit midi version) of Goldfinger's "Superman" song!!

Mine, I'm going to be humming that for awhile now....
