Teletrooper is a mission-based arcade shooting game from Adam Butcher and Ben Claxton. Crafted over the course of seven years, Teletrooper draws inspiration from the likes of Star Fox 64, creating an experience that is a far cry from a mindless test of reflexes. Instead, you'll be treated to a storyline, accept and complete a variety of missions, deal with smart enemies and tough defenses, and maybe even grab a few power-ups along the way. It's a challenging and rewarding game you'll thank yourself for downloading, even if you spend the first half hour figuring out how to not die!
A lengthy tutorial teaches you the basic of controlling your little ship along with running you through a few simple gameplay drills. It's highly recommended you complete the tutorial, as this isn't necessarily a game you can pick up and master right away. Your ship automatically moves forward, you control its direction along with hitting the boost or brakes, useful for escaping danger and making tight turns respectively. Use the [W] key to fire forwards and [S] to fire behind you. Both guns do the same amount of damage, so don't feel like a coward if you spend most of your time running and firing from the aft!
Teletrooper plays out across a sprawling multi-terrained map that grows into branching paths as you unlock new locations. Fly over to a spot, enter the stage, check out the mission objective, and start the battle. Each level has a different goal, ranging from the simple "destroy everything that's trying to destroy you" to "get rid of that giant worm/robot cutting machine" to "hit the switch to open the gate, activate the plates and use the bomb to destroy the generator". The mission objectives are creative and require a bit of strategy and finesse to complete, making Teletrooper something far more intriguing than a simple game of shooting at things.
It's exciting, creative and entertaining. Teletrooper is a game of both skill and tactics, and it's going to require everything you've got to make it through to the end. A lengthy and challenging game that's sure to keep you busy over the weekend!

My antivirus is getting angry at the file on initial download - can you confirm that it's clean?
Is it actually your antivirus throwing up a warning or is it possibly your browser? It seems Google Chrome, for example, shows you a "this file may be malicious/keep?/discard?" warning for any .exe download that hasn't been (somehow) explicitly whitelisted. Had they first zipped up their .exe installer in a .zip file, that warning wouldn't show up (for the exact same content).
Yep, it's clean. I wouldn't have featured it if it wasn't!
It was actually my antivirus - Symantec, if you're wondering. But I'll trust you on this, I know my AV has been overzealous before. :)
I think this game has a lot of potential. It's way too hard (for me) to be fun though.
Everything moves too fast (or I am too slow).
Please give us an option to decrease the games speed!!
This game is painfully hard, especially for those of us without the most dextrous fingers. I spent a total of 5 minutes playing it before deciding it was not worth the aggravation, and then hit the uninstall button.
Hopefully this doesn't seem cold or callous. I think it demonstrates the reaction an average gamer might have. A shame because I typically like shooters.
