Happy New Year!... kinda! What better way to celebrate than with Minoto, a dragon, a traumatised cloud, a sun that can't do anything for itself, and more? Dragon New Year is another of Minoto's surreal and silly point-and-click puzzle games packed full of all the bizarre situations and colourful characters you've come to expect. Just click around to help the dragon progress through each scene and try to think outside the box a little. Dragon New Year does continue the unfortunate new tendency of Minoto's games to just hand you items without explanation between scenes, but as a ray of invigorating silliness and charm to start your day or jump-start your coffee break, it definitely gets the job done.

I hate to say it but I feel like Minoto has jumped the shark. I remember commenting on the first game he made where objects just started appearing in the inventory for no reason and hoped it was a one off... but alas, it seems it is the norm now.
On a semi-related tangent I totally want to name my first two children Alas and Norm. And I want to start a band called Glutinous Rice.
OK, I still love Minoto. I just wish his nonsense made more sense like it used to. You know?

Basic walkthrough
Use pencil on sign, Dragon appears.
Use cloud on river, Dragon crosses.
Next scene.
Give umbrella to dragon.
Use rope on well.
Next scene.
Get syringe.
Return to first scene.
Use sickle on rice.
Go to second scene.
Place rice in pot.
Use syringe on rice.
Go to third scene.
Place rice in smiley mortar.
Return to first scene.
Use syringe to get water from river.
Return to third scene.
Place water in bucket.
Give pestle to bunny.
(Angry bunny is angry!)
Take rice cake from mortar.
Place rice cake on table.
Give chopsticks to Dragon.
Done!

Gotta love Minoto's bizarreness. I can always complete his games without a hint, and I can't explain why :-)
