The Vault

I ventured down to The Vault last night to see what I could dig up from the dusty old shelves down there, and I'm sure you're going to like what I found! Although these games haven't been in the limelight for quite some time now, they're still classics as far as browser games go and everyone should enjoy them at least a couple dozen times! Featured below is a room escape, an arcade game and one of the first physics puzzle browser games I ever played.
Viridian Room - The Viridian Room was not only the very first room escape game I ever played, it was also one of the very first games I ever featured here at JIG. Back in 2004, I began to discover all these brilliant little games that were starting to appear all over the Web, and my experience in the Viridian Room helped influence and shape what JIG has become today. It's a fantastic escape game with an engaging narrative that unfolds as you play. It's a very soulful experience and a classic of the genre.
Warthog Launch - Warthog Launch is an exceptionally good physics puzzle game with gratifying gameplay that feels a bit like bowling, only with hand grenades. Simply position the Warthog, add grenades, and blast-off. Clear all the creatures on the play field in one fell-swoop to advance to the next level. More fun that it should be, this game is the bomb.
BLiX - Some of the best things in life come in the smallest of packages, and BLiX is a testament to that. Another Shockwave game created by the fabulous gameLab team, who have now all moved on to other ventures, BLiX is an arcade game of elegantly simple design that is remarkably fun, cute and addictive to play. This is one game I've come back to time and time again over the years.

Haha I just remembered a good one. Next time do that tank game where you kept exploding and bouncing off enemies - damn that game was fun haha
Oh, my. Blix. That's an old one. That game really deserves a remake.
Plus, Shockwave is acting funny on my machine. I miss the old gmlb.
Ah, the Viridian Room. I was wondering when one of those really early room escapes would pop up here.

My old JIG favs were Neon 2, all the Gotmail escapes and all the world of sand series of stuff.
I wonder what the best escape game EVER is?
I played BLiX before this website even existed. I remember playing it when I was 9 or 10, and I still love it to this day.
So, when are we gonna have the best of 2010? *eagerly awaits*
[We're working on it, as I take time away from it to write this. Each year we have reviewed more games than the previous year, and the sorting into categories takes oh. so. long. x_x Hopefully we'll have it up this week. *crosses fingers* -Jay]
Toshimitsu Takagi...how I love him. When I began escaping in 2004, I couldn't find ANY other escape games that compared to his. There are few that have matched his style, though I'm sure he influenced some of today's greats. Most are just plain insulting to the genre, but luckily, JIG doesn't feature those.
