Way Too Casual #4:
Bye Bye 2009!

Way Too Casual

JohnBIt's been a year, hasn't it? I mean, they're all years, but 2009 was a special one. For starters, Way Too Casual was born. Some other stuff happened, but I can't remember. It won't be on the test, so I won't even bother to look it up. I'm way too casual to study.

To celebrate the passing of a year (and of a decade), Joe, Dora and John sat down around a cozy fireplace, sipped some sort of expensive kind of drinks we couldn't even pronounce, let alone afford (it was hot cider), and had a nice little chat about the year behind and the year ahead. How was 2009 for casual games? What does 2010 promise? We don't know. But we sure sound like we do!

So sit back, grab your cup of hot cocoa, and take a sip of our special podcast all about the year in casual gaming. Check below the jump for a full list of games with links to play them. But, you know, spoiler alert and all. And, as always, you can find more casual gaming podcasts on our website, WayTooCasual.com.

I've noticed you've dropped the #00 in front of the number of each edition of this. Yes, I'm weird for noticing that, but, I still enjoy these greatly. :D

I also notice that the release date was given as 1/1/09. Hopefully, this won't interfere with my iPod sorting by the "newest" podcasts... Nonetheless, I very much look forward to listening to this one.

I come from Minecraft and I've played Infiniminer, albeit ALONE. Yes that's right NOBODY PLAYS INFINIMINER ANYMORE. Also, you missed the most HUGEST aspect about Minecraft, it's in ALPHA. Therefore IT IS NOT COMPLETE. The version of just building (creative mode) is the bare-bones. The actual gaming modes (CTF, Survival) are coming, Survival is actually already out in Single Player. But the Minecraftfian Lord and Master, Notch, is going to start work on Multiplayer soon (some other things to do first).

Really, all I want is you to admit you overlooked Minecraft too soon. DO EET.

No, I didn't overlook Minecraft, I just like Infiniminer better. :-P That's not to say Minecraft won't surpass it, but the simplicity of Infiniminer is much more to my liking. It's not a building game, but I used it as a building game, which is why it was so fun for me.

There's not much of an active following for Infiniminer now, but that's because Minecraft is more accessible and there aren't as many griefers to deal with. And don't forget: Minecraft was inspired by Infiniminer, so props to the original. ;-)

Robert M.: That would be my fault for not remembering to change the year! It's fixed, now, so no one else should have that problem.

And yeah, DarknessKeeper, I thought I'd change up the titles for the new year. :-)

So, I listened to the podcasts, and really liked them, but the last one was in January and it's May now. Is the podcast dead?
