Chocolatier:
Decadence by Design

Chocolatier: Decadence by Design

KarmenAfter the war ended — World War II, that is — people all around the world were ready for something nice and sweet. Luckily, the famous Chocolatiers, Baumeister Confections, managed to keep afloat during those difficult times, and can still satisfy the world's sweet tooth. Unfortunately, Alex Tangye, the sweet heiress, who you might remember from Chocolatier 2, has bigger problems on her mind than chocolate. Her husband, Sean, is missing, still lost at war. She wants to go looking for him, but to do that, she'll need to leave her chocolate factories in good hands: yours.

chocolatierdecadence.jpgChocolatier: Decadence by Design is the latest
installment in the popular Chocolatier series. Decadence by Design returns Chocolatier to its original format, allowing you to make chocolates in factories, explore new ports around the world, running errands and completing quests. So, even though this sequel is set a half a century after the first, fans of the original Chocolatier will feel right at home. But don't let the old style fool you — this is the Golden Age! Cars with fins, neon signs, and new features in the factories add excitement and creativity to the game.

Baumeister Confections is expanding into the coffee business, with new concoctions and machinery. While chocolate bars and infusions are made in the traditional fashion (if shooting ingredients into twirling gears counts as "traditional",) coffee production is a whole new game. While you still need to shoot the ingredients into place, the coffee beans, creams, and sugars must be lined up in groups along a moving conveyor belt. At first, it looks easy, but as the belt moves faster with more and more ingredients, you might run out of places to put things. (Could these be the same people who hired Lucy?)

chocolatierdecadence2.jpgThe sweetest new feature in Decadence by Design is a variation on the confectioner's laboratory seen in an earlier version. In a secret lab tucked away in some remote corner of the world, you can create your own chocolate confections and coffee drinks. You pick the ingredients, and if they hit your taste buds the right way, you can not only name the treat, but design it as well. Select the colors and shapes of your toppings and fillings, and then give it a name and a description. If you're lucky, people all over the world will soon be clamoring to taste your new creation.

Analysis: At first glance, this Chocolatier game doesn't seem to be much different from other versions. However, new features are soon revealed, and suddenly it is more addictive than ever. Will you become the CEO of Baumeister confections? Will Alex Tangye find her husband? Will these people ever stop bugging you for your famous Cayenne Truffle Bars, the ones with yellow spots and violet stripes? If you hope to find out — or hope to create something more appetizing — then try Chocolatier: Decadence by Design.

Walkthrough Guide

This is a strategy guide for Chocolatier: Decadence by Design. I’ve included information for playing through the game, which I hope will be helpful to everyone!

Factories and Locations

Each factory will start out producing the products listed in the spoilers below. You can change the factories to produce other products for a price. You just need to click on the "Change Recipe" button and select the product you want to make. You will be prompted to pay the money to have the factory outfitted with the new equipment. For example, it costs $1,000,000 to change the factory in Zurich from bars to exotics.

Here is a list of each factory location and what it originally produces.

  1. Zurich – Chocolate Bars

  2. Cape Town – Coffee

  3. Tokyo – Infusions

  4. San Francisco – Truffles

  5. Toronto – Coffee Blends

  6. Wellington – Exotics

Locations with No Shops to Buy Products

Be careful when traveling, especially at the beginning of the game. Travel expenses cost money and steadily increase for a good while. There are some locations you must travel to in order to purchase ingredients, test recipes, etc. that do not have a shop available to buy your inventory. Be sure you have enough money to make the trip back out of the location because you won’t be able to earn anything while you’re there. If you get stuck there, the game is over. Here is a list of these locations.

  1. Reykjavik

  2. Uluru

  3. Xunantunich

  4. Gobi Desert

  5. Falkland Islands

  6. Las Vegas

I was wondering if there is anyway to delete a previously saved game. I screwed up and saved it right away to jump out and see if I could find where to delete the last saved game and start from the previous place. I can't seem to find it. Maybe I just need to start over???

Thanks so much!

Stacie - the game automatically saves your progress as you go, and there's no way to restore from a previous save.

You can create a new player at the main menu: Click on "Change Player".

Once you have more than one player created, a "Delete Player" button will appear. You can delete a saved game that way, but I don't think that's what you wanted to do.

Chocolatier: Decadence by Design Event Guide

Thanks to Eileen for putting together the Event Guide!

Hi! PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME! I'm stuck.
1. I rescued Sean Fletcher, I'm a CEO, and 1 recipe (the 3rd truffle recipe) is missing, and I can't make progresses. I only receive special orders, but not anything else. What can I do to become a Master Chocolatier?
2. Why is so hard to aim the ingredients when I make chocolate? Why can't I make much chocolate?
Betty
P.S: Sorry for my bad English, I'm from other country.

Oups I was wrong... Not the 3rd truffle, the 3rd Infusion is missing... Please help me! thank you:)

Does ANYONE have a clue how to get the sesame to appear? I have been revisiting every single person in every single port and I cannot get this thing to appear. Don't I need it to make that one truffle so I can buy the store in Havana? I have something like 7 mill dollars; I thought maybe 5 mill was the "event". Nope. I've filled every special order I've received and done every favor. What on earth am I missing???
I love this game but I would really, really, like to get to the next step. Thanks in advance for your help! :)

To Betty:

Making the chocolates becomes more challenging as you progress through the game to new factories. It just takes practice to shoot the ingredients.

As for becoming a Master Chocolatier -

Try traveling to San Francisco to see Evangeline Baumeister. Or try traveling to Zurich where Alex will intercept you. One of them will set you on the quest to become Master Chocolatier. You will have to make 100 cases of each of your recipes made in the Test Lab.

To Rascalmom:

About the sesame -

My sesame appeared when I received the first recipe that uses that ingredient. You can only get sesame in one location (Tangiers). Check your quest log to see whether you currently need to make the recipe that calls for sesame. There were many times when I thought I needed something, but I was jumping the gun a little and it came easily a little later in the game.

Okay, I'll try what you suggest; however

yes, indeed, a recipe for a truffle that uses sesame has been given to me, yet no sesame has appeared in Tangiers. I will check again, as you say, to see if I need it (I thought it was one of the four kinds of truffle I have to take to Cuba to own that store, though). Basically, I am stuck with four factories, which I assume open up once I own third store.

Maybe I misread something. Hm. Thanks for the help. I'll let you know if it works!

Test Lab Recipes.
Hi, I've made a few choco-bars recipes here, but wanted to know a good kind of combination to use for tea.
Here is what i've made:
African cacao, Cacao, Sugar ($127-$791)
Cacao, Whipcream, Currant ($154-$1053)
Balinese cacao, Milk, Honey ($976-$4169)

I've tried, but Alex isn't at the Bahnhof, and Evangeline only says that 'Keep up the great work'.

Rascalmom - if you don't have the Sesame, try to travel 3 or 4 weeks, and after that go back to Tangiers, where the Sesame is.

Thanks for the help! :)

Yeah I finished the game! :D Thanks for the help!! Now I'm a Master Chocolatier!:)

I have tried all i can think of and i still can not find Joseph. he is NOT in toronto no matter how many time i fly there. I need to give him his truffles to complete the quest.....and on top of that i can't find the darn Sesame at Tangiers. I don't need it but i would like to know when i will need it......its frustrating me

hello,
i'm stuck, i cant find pecans, i looked for it everywhere. (sorry for my bad english, im foreign) it would be great if someone could help me!

Andriana, Joseph is in Toronto. He's in the Waterfront Suites. It took me ages finding him because the building looks like its park of the background. Its a skyscraper next to the factory.

The Pecans can be found in Bogota.

Hope this helps

To Adriana:

You can find pecans in these locations -

Kona, Bogota, and Lima

I accidently left them off of the list of ingredients and locations. I will fix it right now!

Well I am way earlier in the game than you guys but I cannot make this 100% African Cocoa. I cannot get the beans! Anyone know what I am doing wrong? The guy I am supposed to take them to is getting really aggrivated saying our relationship is built on trust and I am failing him! lolHELP

To Faayth:

Exactly which beans do you need? What is the recipe? If you know the name of the ingredient, there's a list of ingredients and locations in the walkthrough section at the top of this page.

I was looking for the beans to make 100% cocoa but I found them. Now I am looking for sesame seeds. I read that they are in Tangiers but I cannot find them. Do I need to unlock something first? I am in the process of collecting all 12 truffle recipes and taking them to the board of directors. I have delivered 2 or 3 truffles, not sure. But I cant get the sesame seeds! Anyone know anything?

Just finished this game earlier today- actually pretty fun. Here are some of my recipes- should help you make some extra cash:

Caramel Peanut: Caramel, Cacao, Peanut

Honey Cream Coffee: Honey, Cream, Kona coffee

Chili Havana Coffee: Cream, Moroccan Coffee, Cayenne Pepper

Vanilla Hazelnut Infusion: Cacao, Milk, Hazelnut, Vanilla

Cherry Truffle Suprise: Sugar, Whipped Cream, Truffle Powder, Bing Cherry, Peruvian Cacao, Balinese Cacao

Black Clove Coffee: Black Tea, Clove, Moroccan Coffee, Whipped Cream

Cayenne Espresso Coffee: Cayenne Pepper, Espresso, Sugar, Cream

Pistachio Truffles: Truffle Powder, Peruvian Cacao, Sugar, Pistachio, Cream, Moroccan Coffee

Maple Butter Raspberry Exotic: Maple Syrup, Raspberry, Butter, Balinese Coffee, Balinese Cacao

Macadamia Peruvian Rose Exotic: Peruvian Cacao, Butter, Macadamia Nut, Maple Syrup, Candied Rose Petals

Honduran Maple Truffles: Honduran Cacao, Truffle Powder, Butter, Maple Syrup, Candied Rose Petals, Balinese Coffee

Like so many others, I'm stuck. I've gotten to the very end of the game and I need to find Honduran Cacao and I've visited every port and cannot find it for anything.

How do I trigger the event to get it?

To Bingaling:

For Honduran Cacao -

You get this ingredient when you finally track down Sean. Even though it shows up in several recipes, I didn't need to actually use it for a quest until after it was made available after finding Sean.

To Faayth:

I'll have to play through the game again to see exactly when and how the sesame seeds appear. It wasn't particularly difficult, but I don't remember the exact details.

Hi can anyone tell me where I find the special reserve 66% cacao please. Really stuck on this part so any help would be great.

Thanks

To Helen:

I don't have the origin of that recipe in my notes, so I'll look for it as I'm playing through the game again.

Hi, I've tried for so long to unlock Vanilla, but no matter where I go I can't find it in any market. Can someone help me?

To Ashley:

Did you check the locations for vanilla listed in the walkthrough at the top of this page?

To Ashley:

To unlock vanilla -

You unlock vanilla after delivering 50 cases of Milk Chocolate Infusions to Daisuko Sato in Tokyo. He will give you a recipe for Vanilla Cinnamon Infusions. The vanilla can then be found in Douala.

Hey, thanks for the great GREAT help here.
Okay, so I got all the truffles for the board members. I was given the task to deliver 100 of suchnsuch to Arema. I was told to make a truffle of my own design. However, I can't for the life of me remember what ingrediants were recommended by the san-francisco board person(evagaline?)
(sorry for spelling--english second language)
Thanks in advance!
Emmy

can't find the special reserve cacao and the 55% african thing, help me please?

Alright so I've created a good number of infusions but I don't have Peruvian Cacao because I can't seem to trigger Lima. I got Deiter Baumeister's endorsement in Tokyo but now I'm stuck because I can't get the cacao. I've been everywhere and talked to everyone and can't seem to progress...what do I do!?

Hello, I've finished this game but I was just wondering if is there any recipe that uses COFFEE LIQUEUR AND ORANGE LIQUEUR?

To Ariel:

If you've finished the game, you should have every recipe available in the game in your book. You can tell from each list of ingredients if there are any with the liqueurs. I don't recall off the top of my head.

To Rascalmom:

About sesame -

Sesame doesn't appear for awhile, even after you get the truffle recipe. I was at the point where I need to find exotic and coffee blend recipes, with no quest in the queue. I visited Evangeline Baumeister in San Francisco and she gave me a quest for the sesame truffles and said sesame is now available in Tangiers. Sure enough, it is!

To Emmy:

I think the truffles recommended by Evangeline are separate from the recipe you create yourself. I haven't used any particular recommendations for any of my recipes and they worked fine.

I am stuck i have already gotten the factory in tokyo and i am just goint around selling chocolates with no quest. how did i progress and try to owen the next factory

I still can't find those pecans.
i've been in kona, the other 2 places are still locked. The only quest i have, is someone asking for dark chocolat infusions and someone asking me to gather infusion recipees.

Hey, I cannot find 11 recipes for Coffee Blends and therefore cannot finish the quest. Where can I find them so I can find Sean!!

[Edit: Go back and talk to all of the board members. They often put you on the trail of new recipes. -Pam]

These are my top-selling creations:
African Desire - Doualan cacao, currants, Cayenne Pepper ($3000-$4000)
Balinese Delight - Balinese Cacao, Balinese Coffee, Nutmeg
(I forgot the others!)

This recipe is also good:

1. Cuban Coffee
2. Black Tea
3. Milk

By accident, I tried to make a truffle, I think, at the infusions factory. I was told that the factory could be configured for a cost - as in Choc 2. The walkthrough suggests that this isn't possible for Decadence, so do I have a different version of the game?

Update to my previous comment. I have configured my factories to make any kind of chocolate. All at a cost, of course.

To Orchid Queen:

Thanks for that information. I didn't see that when I played through the game and it didn't come up in any of the quests. Very interesting, though. I've started a new game and will check it out. :)

hi.. i need help.. i've got all the truffles reciepes and now my quest is to produce 100cases each of this 4 reciepes. but one of the reciepes needs honduran cocoa. and i can't find the whereabout although i've read the previous entry saying that to find it is to search for Sean.. I've look through every port i cant find any.. and so are the sesame seed.. help help... thanks..

I was wondering if anyone can help me with the 66% cocoa bean. I cant seem to find it anywhere and that is the only one i need to get done. Thank You

i need as many resipes that you can give me that work in the game i have the ones from pam and jay but i am looking for more to try

Just wondering what you have to do in order to own your own shop. I have made and sold every type of chocolate bar and have made 10 different coffees and still no shop!!

Thanks!

To Aillina:

The Honduran cacao will not become available until you find Sean. As you travel around following leads, it will eventually open a new port where you'll find both Sean and the cacao.

To Amy:

The 66% cacao is not a bean, it's a recipe. It's the one at the bottom right of the chocolate bars recipe screen.

To Sarah:

You know you can invent your own recipes, right? If you put a bad ingredient in something, the test will point it out. You can create endless recipes of your own.

To Anonymous:

Your first shop will be Morroco Fine Coffees in Tangiers. Try going there and see if it starts your quest to own the shop.

I can't find Alex Fletcher anywhere not is San Fran or anywhere. Is she hiding? I have the truffles she wants.

[Edit: Try Zurich. She'll probably catch you in travels. -Pam]

Help please. I seem to be stuck. I can't get to tangiers despite it telling me I need to take orange bars there. I've made every recipe I have so far and traveled to every port I have open, but nothing is advancing me. I have one more chocolate bar to make but I can't get raspberries which I presume is in tangiers. It tells me soon I will travel there, but I keep making money, selling, making chocolate and coffee, but no passage to Tangiers yet. What am I doing wrong?

[Edit: Tangiers is one of the first ports available and it's where you buy your first shop. Is it locked or something? You can get raspberries in several locations. Check the walkthrough at the top of this page for a list of ingredients and their locations. -Pam]

I know that you can make your own recipes. What I am doing is finding what works and what does not for a walkthrough that I am making for my friends so that they can choose what they like and at what price to sell them at.

i told my friends about your web page they say thank you for some of the resipes that are listed but would like to see more.

I am stuck!! I need to find Peruvian Cacao to make 3 of the truffle recipes and I just cannot get Lima unlocked. I have gone to every port and done all the favours but noone is giving me a job. What do I do? Please help! Im addicted to this game
:-(

To Rohina:

Lima unlocked for me without my even realizing it. I just suggest going to whatever board members you have available, not just visiting ports for jobs. Whenever you get stuck, board members usually clear the way.

i have a problem in order to own my second shop l have to bring in havana 50 cases of cofee spice(what is that????).l bought al the ingredients that are on the market and still nothing. has enyone an ideea

Hi. I've read all the way through, but I still can't find pecans. I've just got the quest where you have to do the 12 infusions right at the start. No matter what I do, I can't get the pecans, so I can't do the first recipe. It's driving me insane. Please help.

To Michaela:

Pecans are found in

Bogota, Lima, and Kona

To Saby:

I see a recipe for Spicy Blend on the Coffee Blends tab, but nothing that exactly matches what you wrote.

This truffle recipe:
3x Saffron
1x Maple Syrup
1x Truffle
1x Balinese Cacao
Sells for $14000-$19000!

I have been playing this game for a while, and have done pretty well. I currently have over 18 million dollars, all six factories, nine creations, and all of the bar, infusion, truffle, and coffee recipes. I have unlocked all the ports that show up on the map, plus Reykjavik, the Gobi Desert and Las Vegas. I own five shops as well. I am having trouble getting the endorsement of Whitney Baumeister and Joseph Tangye because I am missing four Exotic recipes (I have eight) and two Coffee Blends (I have ten). Can someone please help me?

Alana,

Keep going back to the ports and checking with the other board members. That's usually the best way to get what you need.

What is the arabian bold and where can I find it?

[Edit: Arabian Bold is one of the first coffee recipes you receive. I'll replay to see exactly how it comes about. -Pam]

I simply can't find the Special Reserve 66% African Cacao.

I've never had this problem in any of the other games. I have looked in every building in the African ports.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

[Edit: This is a recipe for chocolate bars, not an ingredient you need to find. All recipes for chocolate bars are available when the game starts. It's in the lower left corner of the chocolate bar recipe screen. -Pam]

Hi guys i need some help knowing where the 3rd shop is? thanks to all your help

hey guys! I'm really needing some help finding honey coffee for my 2nd shop... I'm not sure if I'm just overlooking something or if I completely missed it b/c I'm done with all of the quests (so far)... I have all of the chocolate bars, infusions and coffees... I just can't find the honey coffee... HELP PLEASE! Thanks!!

To Lara:

I've added the location of all the shops to the walkthrough section at the top of this page.

To Evette:

I don't see a recipe called "Honey Coffee" in the coffee section or in the special blends section. Is it possible this is one that you created? If so, the recipe will be on the tab marked "Creations" in your recipe book.

I am stuck where I need to make 100 irish coffee to get the first shop. I can't get the columbian coffee. How do I unlock the place I need, in order to buy the coffee.

Dear Pam... I'm stuck right in the middle of the quest where Leiahola Naea at Kailua Fine Goods in Kona needs me to have 50 cases each of Chocolate Bars with Honey, Arabian Bold and Honey coffee in inventory before I can get that 2nd shop in Kona... I can't find that Honey coffee anywhere and without it I can't even get Deiter's Endorsement :(... hope that kinda lets you know where I'm at cause I'm really stuck!! Thanks

I waited several months, and now finally Chocolatier 3 is here. YAY. So far, I have played thru twice to the end. I did better the first time; my second game I missed three or four deadlines.

The trouble I had with the second game is that I was working on Truffles, Coffee Mixes, and Exotics ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I'm not sure how I caused that event to happen, but I won't make that mistake again.

Like others have said, the Coffee Conveyors are not so much fun as the regular shooting ingredients, but it adds complexity to the game. As for the shop in Tangiers -- the whole first game I thought it was a bug in the game that I could only sell coffee products at the Tangiers Coffee Company. DUH to me!

I have had no troubles with the game. But I am very experienced from playing Chocolatier 1 and 2 many dozens of times. I even had no trouble getting Seasame Seeds to appear. I had more trouble waiting for Butter to become available.

Chocolatier 3 has no FREE PLAY Mode, and I am disappointed about that. I would love a mode where the player gets to define a huge number of custom-designed chocolates. That would keep me playing for weeks without food or sleep.

As for the chocolates you get to make yourself -- that is the MOST fun part of the game. I don't understand the people on this forum asking for help/idea/suggestions with that. I like doing it myself.

I have devised a technique to make it a little easier on myself. For each candy, I select ingredients that are based primarily from ONE LOCATION. For exmaple, a Chocolate based on San Francisco would use any Cacao plus Cherry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Espresso Bean, and Sugar. That's 5 ingredients from just one location. The same can be done for ingredients from most any major location, such as Toronto or Havana or Bogota. I even made a nice chocolate with ingredients from Las Vegas that was loaded with alcoholic ingredients.

Chocolatier 3 -- what a great game. I rate this game 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars if the ingredients and finished chocolates did not expire so fast and if the prices did not decline so quickly. If tasks did not pile up on each other so quickly, I would be happier, too. Lastly, this game requires a ton of computer resources. I have to close all other applications to keep the game running smoothly. Other than that, this game is great and I plan to play it over and over.

[P.S. sorry this write-up is so long]

So ive tried talking to deiter and felix the only board members i have and still cant gt to lima... is there a special quest they send me on? i'm stuck and going crazy

hi, im stuck. i cant get whitney's endorsement. i still have 9 exotic recipes for 2 days after visiting and revisiting all ports and checking and rechecking all building. do i need to do something?
where can i find sean?
i still get chocolate orders but thats it. im stuck with these 9 exotic recipes.
please help.

hi everyone, right now I'm stuck at the quest lines for "The Endorsement for Felix" and "Havana de Cuba". Cuba and Bogota are not open for me yet, and i need to go to Cuba to get the Colombian Coffee so i can make the last Coffee to finish up the "The Endorsement for Felix" quest. Can someone help?

was wondering if you could help me with this... I'm on the board of director's task with the truffles i can't find alex fletcher in San Fran its Chase that runs that plant i haven't been able to find alex anywhere????

Thanks very much for this walkthrough Pam.

I have a question that might sound silly. But does this game end? I got the last award and am now am a Master. But Special orders keep coming! Does that mean Im not finished yet. I was expecting summary and like, Alex and Sean lived happily ever after lol.

can someone tell me how to open Bogota? Im stuck w/o Columbian Cacao. ty

How do you open Bogota to get Columbian Cacao?

I need raspberries to make raspberry chocolate bars. The person who asked for them told me I could find raspberries in Tangiers, but they're not there! The only other place that you say has them that is available to me now is Cape Town, and they aren't there either. The other places are still locked. Is it because it's December that I can't find raspberries or what? Seasonality hasn't seemed like an issue in this game as it was in Chocolatier 2.

I'm stuck on a task pretty far into the game. I have acquired all recipes but I cannot find a recipe for "Amaretto Coffee." I tried making "Coffee w/ Amaretto," but this did not fulfill the task. Help!

so i'm still stuck getting deiters endorsement, now i need 9 infusion recipes i have 7 but i cant find anyone willing to give up 2 more.... the port to lima is locked and i cant figure out how o get there i can talk to felix and deiter, but when i click on the factory no chatter... ive been flying to every port clicking on all the building.. I'm going crazy. So where can i find two more infusion recipes or how do i open lima?

I have made it most of the way through the game. Am stuck on the last five coffee blend recipes, and last three exotics.
I have traveled everywhere and looked around and had no luck.

Anybody know about getting the last six blend recipes?

HINTS for getting more Recipies:

-- sometimes you may trigger events out of sequence. That may delay the next steps.
-- keep making chocolates, especially the new recipies you are given after completing tasks. Some events are triggered when you have finished making certain chocolates.
-- keep completing order challenges for chocolates. Again, some events are triggered after you have finished making certain products.
-- make sure you have taken all possible new ingredients to the Tasting Lab. My personal trick is to always buy one of the new ingredients as soon as I see them (they appear with a green background flag).
-- go back and talk with the Baumeister family members often. Multiple trips are sometimes required, often in conjunction with completing other tasks. The Key locations to visit later in the game are Toronto and Baghdad.
-- complete your custom-designed chocolates in the Testing Lab as soon as you can. Then, be sure to produce your new chocolate creations.
Those are the basic tips without getting into specifics. This game CAN be played to the end, so don't despair. Just keep playing and eventually you will somehow trigger the next event so you can proceed.

Actually, this game doesn't exactly come to a final end. After completing all challenges and obtaining all awards and becoming Master Chocolatier, you can continue to play the game indefinitely and continue to receive telegraph orders for chocolates and watch your cash level grow and grow.

[Edit: Spoiler added by Kayleigh]

I am stuck on the endorsement for felix and 100 cases of 66% African cacao bars. I cant get the DOUALAN CACAO to appear. And without that, I cant get the tangiers shop to trigger the quest for me to own it. I noticed a few people had this question and no one ever answered, so PLEASE help, ive been selling chocolates randomly for hours now.

To Kaila:

I believe there is a quest that allows the Doualan Cacao to be available. Try Kona and see if anyone there sends you on a quest.

Hi. I am loving all the hints and tips. I am working on getting the rest of the coffee blends and exotics.

I just wanted to say that the Saffron truffle recipe listed above sells for over $30,000 in my game. I would love to know if there are any more that sell that high. I really do enjoy coming up with my own mixtures but none of my own creations sell for that much!

Help!

Somehow I missed getting raspberries along the way, and I'm not sure how. I still owe Ilan his two cases of whatever, and the girl from Tokyo Tower, and it seems I can't progress further in the game without filling these two orders for raspberry bars. However, no one is selling raspberries.

How can I get them to show up? Or, am I SOL?

I am so stuck. I can't get Tangiers to open up. I have the orange bars. I only have three coffee receipes. mocha, joe, and one I created myself...so I can't finish what Felix wants either. I can't seem to find out what to do.

Nikki!

I was flying around for days... I just clicked on the Tokyo Tower (did I miss this at some other point?) and was sent on a new quest. Did this happen for you yet? I was told I'd get a new infusion if I completed the task! I'm trying it now, but maybe it will help you.

How do Get my 1st shop in it? I'm stuck with that quest and I've gotten the 5 manufactured recipes bubble turn green, I just need to get a shop and that's where i'm stuck. PLEASE HELP!!!!

To Praecox:

I'm doing this from memory... but check Gibraltar Port in... Douala? Seems like there was a quest from a guy there that unlocked raspberries.

To Nicholas:

Your first shop is in -

Tangiers. It's the coffee shop on the right. The owner will give you some tasks and then turn the shop over to you.

I must have skipped a step somewhere. I have 2 shops in Kona and Tangiers. I have gotten all the truffle receipes and was given an assignment to deliver 400 cases of truffles. One of them requires the Honduran one that everyone says I don't need. But I can't move on from here and don't have any new assignments. I don't have a shop in Douwala which I think I skipped somehow. Really confusing.

Hi,
I have a similar problem to Alana,I've been stuck for weeks trying to fulfill an order for a recipe I don't have. I got a quest to make 12 Orange Pecan Stars & 12 Strawberry Anise Infusions for Susana Vanegas in Bogota after completing a quest for Pedro in Bogota but at the time I didn't know that I wasn't going to be given the recipe for the Orange Pecan Stars.
And I need to finish her request to get the other exotic recipes that I'm missing. I'm been flying around but I don't know what to do. I own all my shops and I need 11 exotic recipes to get approval from Wellington. But I only have 7 right now. Please Help!

Hello,

I'm still really stuck. I need 2 truffle recipes from somewhere (I only have 10). I can't get any sesame seeds and Evangeline just keeps saying good job! What am I missing?

Please help.

the hopeless : (

To Zina, Mary, and Kaylea:

You have to be very thorough. Visit every port, talk to every board member, visit every building. Mouse around each port to see if there's a building you've missed. If you're not getting recipes or ingredients unlocked, then you've just missed something.

The best advice I can give you is to go back through it again and click on absolutely everything in every port.

It's possible that each game is a little different when it comes to the orders given for chocolates and coffee. In my game, I didn't get an order for anything that needed Honduran Cacao until the very end because you cannot obtain Honduran Cacao until the end when you rescue Sean.

Help I am at the point of getting the shop In Doula. He wants 100 each of Honey Mint Coffee, Irish Coffee, Peanut Butter Stars. I have the recipies to each but the Honey mint coffee. So I made up the honey mint coffee but he doesn't take it. How do I get pass this????

Whitney Baumeister is in WELLINGTON! Why does the spoiler say that her location is unknown. Alex is the one that's hard to find. Sometimes she's in San Fran and sometimes in Zurich.

[Edit: Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The spoiler has been corrected. -Pam]

I started the game over and got stuck in the same place. I think that the 3rd store shold not be in Havana but in Douala. Now how do I get that done.
By the way, thank you for all of the advise and the speedy responces!

I'm not very good in the basics of this game. I can't hit trays as easily as games 1 and 2. They all go to trash. Is there any technique for this? You know where I failed? Right from the first, the basic chocolate bars can barely make 5 bars. How much more for more complicated chocolates?

[Edit: This is all about timing and rhythm. Watch the ingredients as they travel to the spot where they shoot out. If you see all the ingredients like up for one batch, just shoot them into the slots... bam bam bam. Be ready for the next ones. Find a rhythm and use it. -Pam]

help please, got the african cocoa, but cant find the recipe to make it? the 100% african.

thanks for the tip. i really felt frustrated because i failed right from the very start and i can't move forward.

please tell me how i unlocked baghdad.

I am at the point in the game where I'm supposed to get my 3rd shop(in Havana), but one of my goals is to make 100 cases of Blended Varietal Cocao Pumpkin Truffles...but I can't get the ingredient that I need in order to make this. Can someone please help me?

Mr Murphy - A few people have reported that problem - it appears to be a bug. I wish I had better advice, but seems like you will have to restart your game. You might want to contact customer support at the site you purchased it from regarding the issue.

Thank you for your tips about Board of Directors Truffle Strategy

[Edit: You're welcome! -Pam]

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME :(((((((

i have to "manufacture at least 5 coffee recipes and own 1 shop and felix endorsement would be yours"

where do i get the 5 coffee recipes. i currently have 3 only :(

Hi.. Please Help me..
I can't unlock maple syrup.. I've check Toronto hundreds of times but still its not being sold.. Is there an event that I need to trigger? Thanx so much..

I seem to be stuck on the "Cuban Retail" quest - I can't

access Xunatunich to get the Honduran Cacao. That port is not open for me.

I've visited every city a few times to see if there was some quest I needed to trigger, but everyone just tells me how wonderful I'm doing and giving me general advice. No word on anything else. A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated :)

I can't find the colombo cocoa to make strawberry infusion please help I can't move on the game

To Claireee:

Check around with the board members you know. Also check with the buildings at the ports.

To MetPink:

It might be Evangeline who triggers maple syrup. Try her and if it doesn't work, go back to the board members.

To Maeni:

You don't need anything in Xuntunich for the Cuban Retail quest. Specifically which part of the quest are you having trouble with?

To Mindy:

The only infusion that uses strawberry doesn't use Colombian cacao. Check your recipe again.

I've found the secret ingredients and opened many ports but I'm stuck because I can't achieve the last two awards (one of them is Rowena Baumeister Memorial Plate of Distinction...) and have just been satisfying all the orders. Someone please help!!

Two questions:

1) I have made at least 8 different chocolates... what else do I need to do achieve the "Rowena Baumeister Memorial Plate of Distinction"? Am I getting the meaning of 8 different chocolate products wrong???

2) I seem to have unlocked all the countries that I can see on the map, but I don't see some that were mentioned eg. Hong Kong...etc. does that mean there are more to be unlocked? or is it another version of the game?

Nancy - Actually I thought it was 10 different chocolates for the Rowena Baumeister Plate? Does it say 8?

As for the locations, Hong Kong definitely isn't in this game as far as I know. If you check out the event guide in the walkthrough section, it lists all the locations that open throughout the game.

Yes, it says 8 in your Walkthrough spoiler and also in my game too. Do I have to pass this award to move on in the game? As I seem to be quite stuck..

I have just tried making all the flavours of chocolate bar (total of 11) and having a lot of truffles, infusions in my inventory but I still can't seem to get that award... I must be not getting something...

I have gone through the game three times and still get stuck at Evangeline's quest. I have not been able to unlock the Honduran cacoa. I have been traveling for a year. I have even tried manufacturing everything in the recipe files. Nothing seems to work. I have spoken to everyone and still no results. Please someone help me I would appreciate it.

To Mimi Love:

Can you give me a little more information? Exactly which quest are you stuck on?

To Nancy:

You don't have to get that award to move forward in the game. Although, it sounds like you have met the criteria for it. If you'll tell me exactly where you are in the game and where you're stuck, I'll try to help you.

Lima is still lock - can't get the Peruvian Cacao. I have 6 million dollars, Zurich and Tangiers stores. I've been playing it for two days+. I completed all the quests and orders, except One order that I couldn't fill. Help.

Thanks Pam, I have $150,000,000+ in cash and have the title Master Chocolatier. I have filled up all the spaces in my own recipes (though there were some ingredients that I didn't get but not all of them are mandatory, right?) I am not sure if I have finished the game yet.. as I have only been getting special orders. I have unlocked all the places that i can see on the map but there are some locations (eg. Faulkeland) where nothing much happens... and I see that there are two awards which I don't have, so I have been trying to get those..thinking that that is the next level up. Have I finished the game?

To Nancy:

Have you made the large chocolate orders to submit your application for Chocolatier? Have you found Sean?

If you haven't done these two things, you haven't finished the game yet.

Tell me what your last quest was. There's a button you can click on the quest screen that enables you to see completed quests. Tell me what the most recent two quests were.

To beaunois:

Peru unlocks after you deliver Spicy Currant Truffles to Alex at University of Zurich. If this doesn't help you, please come back with more information.

Hi Pam,

The last two quest says Highest Honor Part 2, Highest Honor Part 1... I have completed these two quests and have been doing special orders for awhile.. not sure how to progress further... does it mean I have finished the game?

Hi Nancy.

Those are the last two quests of the game. You've saved Sean and become a Master Chocolatier. That's basically the end of the game. You'll continue to get special orders, but no more tasks. I hope this helps you.

I am on the 400 truffle quest. I have been able to create to create 300 but I can't create the last truffle. I believe its the blended cocoa.

To Mimi Love:

Can you give me some more details? I can't tell why you can't create the last truffle from your post.

How do you get or make the coco mix?

Ok. Thanks Pam!

To JIGuest:

Can you be more specific? There's nothing called "coco mix." I need more information about exactly where you need help.

TO PAM

I have gotten to Evangeline's quest. I must create 400 truffles, 100 of each kind. I have created 300 but i am unable to create the blended cocoa which requires Honduran cocoa. I have traveled for a year and spoken to everyone without no progress. I have gone through the game three times and have only receied special requests. I am going to try to go thru the game again to see if I have missed something but I doubt that I did. I have also made everything in the recipe book to see if I could trigger another space for the secret lab. If you could give me some pointers I would appreciate it very much.

To Mimi Love:

There's no need to restart the game. Look at the quest for 400 truffles again very carefully. It calls for a Blended Varietal Cacao Pumpkin Truffles, which do not use Honduran Cacao. The names of the truffles are very similar, but one uses Honduran Cacao and the other doesn't. Just make the correct truffles and you'll be good to go! :)

Thank you Pam. I guess so many late night hours of addicting chocolate can cause oversight.

how can i complete all the truffles? i only had to find the last 2 in order to gain the 3rd shop. anyone knows?:)

ria - Try looking at the event guide in the walkthrough section - it tells you the requirements and location for each new recipe.

I cant seem to figure out how to take ownership of my first shop. no one is offering one to me and i cant progress in the game without it. ive been playing for a long time and nothing changes. HELP

To Ria:

Exactly what kind of trouble are you having? We may be able to help you with more information.

To Faye:

Visit Moroccan Fine Coffees in Tangiers and talk to Zachariah Tangye. That will get you started on your first shop.

I finished this nice game several times and I observed a curious thing. When I'm getting out from the game and starting to play again later, the values of my creations are at a significant decrease. I'm wondering if this happens only to the creations in production in the moment of stopping the game or it's a game rule that make the creations value to decrease at reentering the game. Ty for your response. Sorry for my english.

Can someone tell me how can I make Caramel Latte? I don`t have this recipe in the book, and I didn`t invented it.I need 200 cases to own the shop in Baghdad and I don`t know what to do.
I must say that I have just 3 coffee recipes to find out and the only ingredient I don`t have is the Honduran Cacao. And i have made all the other recipes I have find out.I don`t know how to get out of this,I`ve visited every port and every building to get a new quest, but nothing.
Help anyone?

Tatiana - You can check the event guide in the walkthrough section to find out what triggers getting recipes. In this case,

...keep flying around - you should eventually encounter Motochika Hareda in flight. This happened to me when I was on route to San Francisco.

Thank you Jayisgames I won the gome!
but now is there anything elst to do?

well,i have looked through the completed quests and it seems that i have encountered Motochika Hareda and completed that quest but she never gave me the recipe she was supposed to ..

I'm stuck at where you have to have 9 different recipes for infusions. I only have 2... someone please help!!

I'm currently stuck on the 400 truffle quest, as soon as I have 300 (all, but 100 of fourth required recipe), truffles seem to go missing from my inventory every time i travel.
I'm wondering if this is all part of the quest or not.
It's annoying the heck out of me, any hints?

To JIGuest:

Check all around Tokyo for infusion recipes. And go back to the board member who is there.

To kforshaz:

Ingredients and inventory will expire if they sit for too long. There are a couple of strategies that may help -

Reconfigure your machines to make specifically the truffles you need. This way, you can have them all producing at the same time. Another strategy is to produce substantially more than the required amount to all for the deterioration of the product.

To kforshaz:
Another way to keep from losing inventory:

If you sell one of the item every 30 weeks this will refresh your product and make it good for another 30 weeks

This method may work a little better for you.

Also you can do something similar to keep from losing ingredients:

If you buy one of the ingredient that you are "storing" every 30 weeks that will refresh them and make them good for another 30 weeks

I went to Xunantunich, and there is no store for honduran cacao. There is only some camille jones-i think

To Momina:

The shop you need is called Cambria's Place.

It's only available after you rescue Sean.

Where can I find African cacao?
Please help. Thanks

To Kristine:

There is not an ingredient called African Cacao. Please check your quest and recipe again.

please help me!
i am in a quest, i must bring 400 cases of 3 types of truffles and one from my creation to Armena Caraballa in havana, but i cant find honduran cacao and sesame to complete it.

pleas what can i do?

(i have private plane and all the trip take one week)

I really need help getting the 11 coffee blends and also don't know how to unlock Xurantunich. What do I do?

Playing Chocolatier 3 and I do not have a recipe for Winter Warmer...got an order for them but no recipe. I saw in the spoiler that Felix gives it to me...but now quite sure what I have to do to get it and what catagory it is in. Any help would be greatly appreciated

kre

kre - Winter warmer is a coffee. It definitely comes from Felix:

...in exchange for 20 Super Buzz, 20 Super Mocha Blend, and 20 Hazelnut Infused Blends.

Its possible that other quests need to be completed before he offers you this quest. Just keep checking back with him as you do other quests.

Anwar - Honduran cocoa is located in..

..Xunantunich which opens up near the end of the game.

The sesame is in..

..Bali, and Tangiers by the end of the game.

V - Please consult the event guide in the walkthrough section above regarding the coffee blends. To open Xunantunich, you must

..rescue Sean Fletcher which happens near the end of the game.

Hi...need help on Whitney/Joseph's endorsement. I have 8 recipes for exotics and 11 recipes for coffee blends, all of which I have produced and sold in numerous occasions. I understand that the next step is to get an order from Evangeline in SanFran. I have been flying back and forth hoping she will place the special order, and nothing. I think two years (or more) have gone by as I wait for Evangeline. How do I fix this?

Sorry (me again). In my message above I said I had 11 recipes for coffee blends, but i meant to say 10. I am missing the 11th which I was sure I would get from Evangeline in San Fran. Please help, thanks.

Violet - Have you already checked the event guide in the walkthrough section above? Do you have any open quests you haven't completed yet?

Eileen, thanks for responding. I have checked the event guide and I have done everything by the book, except Evangeline will not give me the recipe for Mediterranean Coffee to take to Pedro in Bogota. Nothings triggers this event to happen, despite my numerous visits to her in San Francisco. I don't have any other open quests (only the two that are tied to this event: Whitney/Joseph endorsement). I am stuck. Please help me fix the problem.

To Violet:

What exactly happens when you talk to Evangeline?

She says: Keep up the good work. Any ideas?

Pam/Eileen, I just went over the event guide again and noticed something I missed last time I read it. It seems the lady from the Tokyo Tower was supposed to give me the recipe for strawberry anise infusions and milk chocolate w/ blueberry infusions after delivering 45 cases of chocolate rasberry bars and 45 cases of cinnamon coffee. I delivered all 90 cases a while back, but I just noticed that she didnt give me the recipe for strawberry anise infusions; she gave me the milk chocolate w/ blueberry infusions recipe nonetheless. This is apparently a problem because Evangeline's encounter would take me to Pedro in Bogota and then, he would ask me for 12 Strawberry Anise Infusions, and 12 Orange Stars to take to Susana in Bogota..... but I dont have the recipe for the Strawberry Anise infusions. I think that's the problem. Is there a solutions to this?

Violet - Do you have any open quests? It's possible that the events are different depending on the order in which you do them. Many recipes come from people who just find you in your travels. Have you completed all the tasks available to you?

I dont have any open quests, only the Whitney/Joseph endorsements.

Pam, I'm still searching for pecans. I never seen it in Kona, and the other places are not opened yet. I traveled around the world, talked to all people, but still not get any clues. What should I do?

IcA - If you go into your recipe book and mouseover the ingredient name, a pop-up window will appear and tell you the location of the ingredient. Have you tried that?

Okay so I need to make the 66% african cocao bars but I do not have the Doulian cocao to make them. How do I get this item! ahhhhhh! help :(

[Edit: You just need to travel to Douala and buy it from the plantation behind the regular market. -Pam]

I just finished the game, yaaaaay!!!
It took me five days and I removed it from my computer right away, so it's done. It's a great game, but it makes me crazy. I hardly got out of the room.
Thanks Pam, thanks everybody for all the tips.
Now, I'm no longer a chocolatier, I'm a normal woman who has real business to take care of :D

oh, my computer crashed twice when i reached Gobi Desert. maybe we shouldnt go there so often, since there's nothing in that desert anyway. buy your dates enough for the order and leave that place. or maybe it's just my computer :)

Dear Pam,
Thanks for the information. I've tried that, but, when I pointed the ingredient, the pop-up window said "you have not yet seen this ingredient at a market." What should I do? I really confuse with this.

IcA - Sometimes the game won't give you new quests until you've created and sold your own creations. Have you been doing that?

I've tried that too, Pam. I went to Secret Test Kitchen, in Reykjavik, but nothing to do. Teddy Baumeister said that I don't have currently any slots available in my recipe book for my own recipes although I've bought some ingredients that I can found. Is there something I should do?

Ica - I'm afraid you'll just have to keep flying around and talking to everyone you can until some quests open up! Also make sure you are making and selling items from all the different categories of recipes, including your own creations.

Thanks, Pam. I'll do it.

Has anyone figured why the sesame seeds don't appear? I read what advice some of you all had to say on the first page, but it doesn't work. Pleae help because there's nothing to do but special orders and find sesame seeds.

I cant seem to unlock Xurantunich to find Sean. Help?

I'm stuck! I'm on the final mission where I must produce 100 cases of my first six created chocolates along with a new recipe. HOW DO I UNLOCK THE FINAL SPACE IN MY RECIPE BOOK? HELP!

HI,

I hope you can understand me. My English isnt very good.
I've a problem with the game. I don't understad how I can buy a shop in Kona for example. What I have to do???

Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany
Alex

Can someone please help me? I am having trouble finding the board members to get truffle recipes and can't seem to move forward in the game.

[Edit: Have you looked in the walkthrough guide at the top of this page? There's a lot of helpful information in it. -Pam]

Hi! Please help me. I have a small or big problem with this game. I can't find Doualan Cacao to make Special reserve 66% African Cacao and by this can't realize this quest. Oh and I have even more than 5 coffee recipes but I don't know how to own a shop. I'll be grateful for any advices.

To Emilia:

You will find Doualan Cacao in Douala at Ndawara Plantation, located on the hill behind the sweet shop on the left.

Ugh!!! I gave Evangelina her white chocolate truffles and I didn't get any truffle recipes in return!! How am i supposed to give the truffles to the board??? Stuck

Hanna - That's weird. Did she give you the assignment to give truffles to the board members, just no recipes?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this game!!!

I played the first version some time ago, then played the free demo when version 3 came out. Just bought it, and have played for hours over the last few days. This is a great site, did not need to come here until I got stuck and could not locate the dates. You have done a great job, and I will be back for more help in other games.

I am nearly at the end, just need to get the last main quest then unlock the Honduran cocoa, or was it coffee? I have just those last few recipes that use it to complete. I have really enjoyed making up my own recipes, and after creating the first few discovered I could design the confection, colors and all. That made it even more fun. I am ready to start experimenting in my own kitchen as this game has definitely got me craving some decadent chocolates.

What a clever, entertaining and beautifully made game! I would love to be a tester for them should they go on with a part 4. Or for whoever reads these forums, may I suggest something similar that would involve making desserts or liqueurs? The guys have plenty of games tailored for them; I think game developers need to create more games like this that will appeal to us women. Thanks!

Pam, or Eileen, I've a problem with chocolate prices: they seems to drop drastically after some weeks, especially if it's a new recipe. How long they remains at their maximum? And there is a way to keep them high?

To Lea:

The prices for the chocolates fluctuate according to the market. And yes, new creations to sell for more at first. The best way to continue getting good prices is to only sell your chocolates to the shops you own. They give you the best prices overall.

Okay - I have been playing this game for almost a week and I can not find seasame seeds for the life of me. I have been flying around for weeks. I cant get the store in Havana until I find those. I even started a new game and still can't find them. I dont know what else I can do. Please help me.

i really cant find the 66% african cacoa things why?? ive gone to every single port over and over :[

I can't finish my last three infusions because I can't unlock Lima. I've been to every port repeatedly and have clicked on every building. Any ideas?

Hi, I seem to be stuck just before the part where the SF port should open up and I've done every single quest and nothing is triggering it - what should i do! I don't want to have to start all over again.

How do you fill a special order "#####" ? What is it?

Renae - Double check that you've successfully named all your creations. It's likely that its referring to one of your original creations from the lab.
