Jojo’s Fashion Show 2:
Las Cruces

Jojo's Fashion Show 2: Las Cruces

JohnBFashion is back in fashion with Jojo's Fashion Show 2: Las Cruces, a new time management sim from Gamelab. Rosalind and Jojo made their comeback in the original Jojo's Fashion Show, and now it's time to wow the crowds with new fashions, new models, and new shows around the world.

jojosfashionshow2a.jpgJust like the original, Jojo's Fashion Show 2 includes two main modes of play: Career and Dress-up. The former is the meat of the game, sending you out to assemble outfits and rush models onto the runway to score well in the judges' eyes. Dress-up mode is a more laid-back pursuit in which you use outfits unlocked in Career mode to dress models waiting on the platform, then take a snapshot for your archives.

A set of three models stands before you waiting to be dressed. Each one has a style choice floating above his or her head (Provocative, Bollywood, Sockhop, etc.). Using the one-word guide, choose a top, a bottom, and shoes from the rack below that best matches the model's preferences, then click the runway icon to send them out and see how you did.

Although the layout, gameplay and overall style is practically identical to the original game, the sequel adds a number of subtle and not-so-subtle enhancements. New in-game events, such as Show Climax, help you earn more points or give you extra time to work with the models. You also get to interact with more characters than before, including a photographer and the editor of a fashion magazine. Photo shoot mode is also a nice touch, parading flocks of dressed models and tasking you with taking a picture of those that match specified criteria.

jojosfashionshow2b.jpgAnalysis: With an energetic visual style and quick, rewarding gameplay, Jojo's Fashion Show 2: Las Cruces drops a fun new time management experience in your lap that's surprisingly entertaining. Yes, even if you don't know the first thing about fashion. The game does a great job of teaching you the utter basics of building appropriate outfits without getting stuck in the intricacies of fashion.

Where Jojo's Fashion Show 2 falls short is innovating beyond its predecessor. In many ways, this sequel could be seen as more of an expansion pack, adding photo shoots, male models, and new clothing choices to the menu. Other than that, it's essentially the same game as the original, which isn't a bad thing by any means, just slightly disappointing.

A great-looking and surprisingly captivating time management game that challenges without inducing frustration. Enjoyable even if your idea of "high fashion" is a t-shirt and pajama pants!

Ooooh, Jojo's Fashion Show 2!
I absolutely loved the first one, and am excited to work with new clothes :D

I loved the first one, too. I played it over and over. I really like having new clothing choices, new categories, and male models. It's a nice addition to the original game. :)

Oh boy, another game from Gamelab, and it's Jojo's Fashion Show 2. How exciting.

The game has a nice length and good graphics. And for those, which like power ups – there are really a lot of them.

... but...where is the challenge?
You can get five stars with outfits that do not fit together at all (not even I would go on the street like this and I don’t care about clothes very much).
Some of the styles do not have many differences to even deserve the name style.
To reach three stars in each level is normal, without any challenge. And four or five stars are to manage with a little looking, without any of all this power ups.
Since when do designer have to do the photographs by themselves?
Why does Roz (or is it Jojo?) looks like a fastidious teenager, which didn't get its will?

Ok, I never liked dressing Barbie and Ken. Maybe this is why I don’t like that game that much.

Greetings, Kayleigh

I loved the first installment and still play it constantly, trying to reach perfection... It's not happening. :( But then perhaps thats just my terribleness.

I am so glad they've released a new one, I can't wait till I have the money to buy it. Ah well. Demo it is for me. :)

Demo takes nearly 5 minutes to load, then hangs randomly. Looks like I'll have to give this one a pass.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I hated the first Jojo's Fashion Show quite intensely. Fashion? That should be about breaking rules and self expression. Not like this game with its petty leather-boots-must-go-with-fringing-for-50-points mentality. Urgh. And the outfits were just so ugly.

I usually love the resource management genre, but not this time. Glad that other people got something from it, though.

i dont know if it was designed that way but, the game opened full screen, with a crappy resolution and crammed all my working windows on my second screen; it took a long time for the initial load during which time you cannot do anything, not even Esc works, or ctrl+alt+delete.. clumsy and ugly

[Edit: Fullscreen default is, unfortunately, common practice for all games. As for how long the initial load takes, well, that's really dependent upon your own hardware. -Jay]

Hm. I clicked download demo and Avast! found Adware in the file. On the site it says 100% spyware and adware free... :/ It could be a false alarm, I suppose, but I just thought I should tell you guys.

[Edit: I have brought this issue up with iWin, and they assure me that these reports are false positives. Furthermore, they had this to say:

1) There have been two situations with AVG and McAfee anti-virus packages falsely detecting a file in the iWin Games Manager as a threat. In some cases, this prevented the downloaded game from playing. This detection was accidental (what virus companies call a "false positive") and was promptly corrected by AVG and McAfee in an update after they researched our case.

2) The iWin Games manager is our application that helps organize the iWin games on your system. It also helps decrease the download time for each iWin game. This application also surfaces periodic ads; such as our daily alert for new game titles. Some anti-virus software detects a file in the iWin Games manager as adware and simply reports that discovery. Since the ad surfacing is only possible when you are engaged with the iWin Games manager and does not "follow" your internet activities it is considered benign. You also have the capability of disabling the ad surfacing.

At iWin, we take great care to ensure that all our games are free of viruses and Trojans. We apologize for the confusion and hope you continue to enjoy great games at iWin.

Jojo's Fashion Show 2 is now available from Arcade Town. Links have been added above in case you have reservations with the iWin game loader.

I was a fan of its fun visual mix and match of clothes (although not so much a fashion people). I just found it hard when what saving up the items for a "signature design" which I almost never got, but still get mostly 3 star, but rarely 5 star shows.
The photoshooting is a little bit problematic when I need to make sure the aim is at the right model/clothes when there's a cluster of them, and when the position of the theme jumped and I clicked the wrong one by mistake, honestly!
Good job to the game designers. Throughly enjoyed the demo from Arcade Town. The iWin version required their iWin manager, which somehow didn't let me download the demo so I tried again through Arcade Town. Works like a charm.

=) Hello guys I've been playing the game for some days. Now I've reached the Paris fashion week and still there's no challenge. Besides
what with the styles? Yhey keep being
the same .... bollywood, hipster, african, bollywood, hipster, african... and again... is that meant to be?
no matter the lvl or the X place fashion week, there's not too much different about the styles...

I agree about the fastidious teenager Ros lol. However, the game is nice.
=) plz someone reply!

Hi Aya.

The repetition of styles is typical with this game, just like in the first Jojo's Fashion Show. The challenge comes later in the game when you have stricter time limits and more demands for various styles.

I love that game. I'm addicted to it!
