JayCube CoreCube Core is an attractive point-and-click, room escape game that recently made the rounds, created by John Feltham and hosted at Newgrounds. It's not a very long game and it is quite logical to solve, though in at least one part you will have to be extra observant to catch a clue or you will be looking for a walkthrough quicker than you can say "Area 51". I wasn't so fortunate, perhaps your experience will be different. Regardless, this is one of the better escape games to have surfaced in recent memory, and is actually the second from the author. Play Cube Core.

Or try the first in the series of games (a 3rd is already in production), Sphere Core.

short and easy, just the way I like 'em

Ha, this sure is an interesting game. Right now, I'm stuck at

image
Pipe Maze.
I've placed the
image
Mog-Rat

into one of the parts, but it still says something is missing.

I can't find the #'s to unlock the small door? any help appreciated

Kathy

image
Have you checked behind the cushion on the couch?

Mikey
image
Did you notice the line behind the couch?

For the rat maze...

image
You need to use ALL the pieces of tube to get the rat to the end
image
You also need another component which fits in the slot to the bottom right

the 4 digit number is:

image
turn left 2 times while you are big and look under the pillow, after turning on the lamp light.

Kathy, If youre reffering to the nubmers for the door in the right passage in the cube, look at the armchar after moving the cushion to the side, exposing the arm, while the lights are on.

Erf, Now I'm stuck... the right hand room inn the red box... whatzit for? (Have the knife from the safe, stuck with three boxes on left)

Ive done

image
everything in the first three rooms, go the genetic code, done the maze, got the womp rat, and in the forth room Ive got a knife. All three rooms are lit up (I have the powered up power core), but I have no Idea where to go from here :(

Can anybody help?

Jordan

image
You can enter more than one number into the combo lock. There is another code hidden somewhere

jordan

image
You need another four digit number for the machine that gave you the knife. Look around in the small rooms. It's written in green.

Still need help?

Great game, I love the graphics of this series, reminds me of the submachine series and the temple game too. Does anybody know more room-escape games similar to these?

Heh, the mochiad at the beginning of the game was for no other than JiG's CDCG4! =)

actually thought I'd try Sphere Core first and am suitably stuck... any walkthroughs for that?

its annoying that you cant turn off the music. the third game should have that feature.

is there a discussion for sphere core? i'm stuck with

image
three panels and a boiler

I agree with sloth, good game, but annoying you can't turn off the music. Was listening to my own playlist at the time, so made things particularly irritating!

Finished needing only the hint from the walkthrough about

image
looking behind the couch (although I knew that I had to slice something on the couch with the knife, I didn't know where to slice).

Great game. I loved the pipe puzzle part.

There is a walkthrough for Sphere Core here.
A work of warning though, it is very spoilerish - not the place to go if you just want a hint!

Ah, Looking Behind Things: the simple yet nasty shtick that's crippled so many room-escapers.

Point and Click Room Escapes are my favorites. I almost got this all by myself and most of it was logical, which some of these games are not, however,...

image
I would never have been able to figure out the pipe code without help because it looked like 515
That seemed to stretch the logic for me. Too bad because up till that point I thought it was great.

I wish we could take the mog-rat with us! It's so cute!

Not bad, but not too good either. I like how short and peculiar it feels. Still I didn't enjoy it THAT much. I'll put my usual nagging in the spoiler box, just in case.

image
1. The couch. Man, I hate when these games include an arbitrary hot spot which, when clicked, suddenly shift perspective so I can do what I actually wanted to do. I have a knife, I want to cut that armchair in pieces, but I cannot until I click at the spot approximately 2 inches right of the chair. What? Silly, unintuitive and unnecessary. 2. The rat-maze code. OK, perhaps you find this clever, I find it gimmicky and illogical. 3. For some reason the game didn't let me do the correct thing in the end, i.e. put the core in the cube. I had opened and closed the iris like an idiot the core didn't want to go in. I give up, wander around more a little bit, try to find some more obscure 4-number combos (like, I dunno, the number of bricks times the number of arrows) and finally read the walkthrough to realize I have been trying the correct thing all along. VERY frustrating.

There. All in all a nice game, but nothing spectacular. Also, what happened with the embrio and the rat? Someone'd better feed them while I'm walking around in that light...

i do all the steps up until getting the key

and when i put the key in the door, there is a wall behind the door
and it says

image
"A solid brick wall, no exit here"

is there a hidden door or something?

oh okay i've got it now,

damn i feel stupid

There is a bug:

image
If you know the code numbers that give you the knife and the remote control, you can bypass most of the puzzles, because the cube doesn't care whether you've charged the power cell. Specific steps:
image
Shrink yourself and enter the cube. Go into the right-hand room and enter code 9431 on the panel. Push the button. Get the knife. Push the button again. Enter code 6287. Push the button. Get the remote. (The walls will turn green at this point, even though you haven't touched the valves.) Leave the cube and return to full size. Use the knife to get the power cell from the back of the couch. Face the cube, press button 1 on the remote, put the (uncharged!) power cell in the top of the cube. Press button 1 and then button 2. Take the key, unlock the door, and you're done.

I'm playing Sphere Core now, and I'm stuck too!
I got:

image
screwdriver, hot water jar, a glass of hot water, a circular plate with buttons, a smoking fetus-like-thingy, a smoking tube, another tube that shows yellow on the window, and 3 puzzle pieces.

Anyone got any further?

I gave up, HAD to use the walkthrough and finally I finish Sphere Core... that was hard!

yay! finished cube core without help! mhwahuahahaha..

I don't seem to be able t mute the game. Shame because i like to play these kinds of games with my fav music in the background :(

Fun, not too hard game. However, the second code was kind of a stretch.

image
how the heck can you get 5151 out of the pipes?? they don't make the second "1"

Otherwise great.

bioLarzen:

image
The power gauge on the right side of the maze forms the second 1.

I almost had it... just that second code foiled me. And I'm usually useless at these things, so it was nice to have one that was logical (except for aforementioned wtf?ness). Good stuff.

(Thanks to Peter Hosey, without that spoiler I'd have been really frustrated!)

image
You CAN take a Mog-Rat with you; you get an infinate supply!

i finished w/o help!!!!!! i rock any1 need help????

The game won't load, can anyone help please?

Love the game, hate the newgrounds layout. I keep clicking the x that closes the game by mistake!

In Sphere Core, is there any purpose for the big screw in the middle other than

image
to remove the panel? Even though I got it loose by using the screwdriver on the four little screws, every time I use the screwdriver on the big screw it replays the panel-dropping-to-the-floor animation.

And any hints on what to do with
image
the other two square chips?

i put the power core in the bottom right hole but when i press the green button it doesnt do anything

I need your help, Kenzi. My key won`t fit in the door!

DAMN IT BRICK WALL!!!

I'm mad i tried to post a whole sphere core walkthrough and guess what, there was a comment submission error! I lost the comment i'm really mad<:(

[Edit: Sorry Kevin. :( We think we have worked through the issues with comments today, so the next time you sign in it should keep you signed in permanently. Sorry for the inconvenience while we work on some necessary site upgrades. -Jay]

On Sphere Core, how do you get the screwdriver to work on the plate?

I see four screws in the corners. I've tried hovering, clicking, pushing, scraping, etc. all four of them. I've done it with the screw in the middle of the floor in every position.

Nothing seems to work. Help please. What am I missing or doing wrong?

I know where the code is for cube core but
the numbers are way too small for me to read. help?
