Pop Cultureheads rejoice! The new season of VH1's World Series of Pop Culture (WSOPC) begins tonight! To celebrate, VH1 is holding a special trivia contest in which you can compete for $2,500 each night as well as a $10,000 grand prize!
Starting tonight and continuing through July 19th, log in to Worldofpop.com immediately following the broadcast of WSOPC (there's a contest for both east and west coasts). Select the Trivia Dome game to compete. You'll want to register ahead of time. Immediately after the show airs, the online contest will begin. You'll be presented with a series of 25 multiple choice pop culture questions, increasing in difficulty. You'll have 20 seconds for each one, but you'll want to answer as quickly as possible. Answer them all correctly, and in the least amount of time, and you'll win the $2,500 nightly prize. However, miss just one question and that's it. Finito. You're done. If no one makes it to the end, then the prize will go to the highest scorer with the lowest time.
On July 20th, a special Trivia Dome competition will be held. On that night, there will be one contest for both coasts consisting on 50 questions. All of the questions will be taken from previous episodes of WSOPC. That's right, if you have been watching the season, you should already know the answers! Win this contest and you'll be awarded the $10,000 grand prize!
Judging by the beta test of Trivia Dome which I and other JIG reviewers took part in, the contest questions are not going to be easy. I only made it past one question before getting kicked out for a wrong answer. You'll want to bone up on your pop culture if you want a chance at that cash. The site's FAQ page suggests practicing by playing Too Many Questions or Survival Trivia. Once the contest begins, you'll also have the chance to play through previous nights' questions to get some practice with the Trivia Dome format.
So be sure to register right away, so you'll be ready to Play WSOPC Trivia Dome!
Note: You must be a US citizen over 18 years of age to play.

Some of the practice games there are fun too. I probably won't register, but I enjoyed Too Many Questions.

I get the trumpet fare and the page announcing the World series and that's it. No matter what game I click, trumpets and big lights swinging back and forth. Does this just take a while to load?

You might need to upgrade to Flash 9 (at least Flash 8) to play the games. That has happened to a few people before and the upgrade should solve the problem...

I hope their QC is better on the questions than it is on the front page, because I'm not sure how much faith I've got in their answers if they're not able to spell "exercises" correctly.

Trivia Dome is crap!! The web site is terrible I waited almost an hour for the show to end so I could play and then after 4 questions it froze. Now when I try to get on I can't even get the site to load. They obviously were not prepared for the amount of people on the site.
