Flash Player 9 Beta for Linux

Cheers to Michal for having just sent this one in:

"Adobe made available a beta version of FP9 for Linux systems a few days ago. It works pretty well with most of the flash games reviewed at your site (which often did not work with the highest version available for Linux - 7). I don't know how many of your visitors are using Linux OS but even if it is 1 out of 100 it could be nice to give them that info."

And here's the link:

I am certain there are several people here that will welcome that news. Cheers! =)

I think this is a semi big deal. As flash games take advantage of more of the advanced features, they had been leaving Linux users in the dust. It seems that adobe might have started picking up where Macromedia left off.

Sweet! Thanks!!

Awesome! I've been waiting for a while. I've had to get in all my Flash gaming when I'm working on other homework in the library. Now I can procrastinate from my dorm room.

Although it is still beta and some games refuses to work , it is better than booting Windows just for a coffee break. It also performs much better (smoother and more stable) than Flash Player under wine.
Brent - I know that REALLY big deal would be Shockwave Player for Linux... but for me it is very promising that such a $$$ corporation like Adobe remembers about open-source systems enthusiasts.

Yay sooo happy, there are loads of games I've been waiting to try and finally can. Lovin the competition entries at last, thanks Jay :)

There is an update - the major sound bug is fixed , check it at http://blogs.adobe.com/penguin.swf/
