Replay: Blueprint
Blueprint Blueprint is a brand new blue brainteaser similar in concept to the previously reviewed CCL Game and to the Incredible Machine series of games from as far back as 1993. The object of the game is to arrange the component parts on the play field so that when the ball is released it will hit the target. [review]

Google blogger, information technologist, and sometimes game developer, Philipp Lenssen of Germany, has created a "choose-your-own" adventure game called The Google Adventure that takes place at the Googleplex, which is where you've just begun a new job...

Today, you started your new job as Google Quality Assurance Assistant of the 3rd degree. That means you're now responsible for spellchecking bug reports. (Well, you're not literally responsible, as you're just assisting the one who's responsible.)

But what you really want is a career inside Google. A high-paying, fulfilling, challenging and creative job. You think you have the right skills, too.

Little do you know, at this point, of the Google Adventure that awaits you.

While there are multiple endings to this hypertext adventure, there is only one "best" ending. Can you find it? Click.

Philipp used QML, the Quest Markup Language and editor, for creating this unique and original game. Also check out Games for the Brain, a whole set of games created by Philipp, previously reviewed here.

I've gone through so many combinations!!! it doesnt work... i need help plz

i made it as far as talking to the robot... then i died :p gonna try again later. to start off try finding out a way to finish your job fast so you can leave your desk :) good luck

ARG!

I made it really far, and then ended up getting fired for kicking the red ball around the developer lab. Interesting game, but I don't think I have enough patience to go back and start from the beginning, again.

I got so far:

image
as far was grabbing a winter coat so I can go to the basement, then I clicked to go back to my office by accident, and frank accused me of taking his yoghurt. I told him there was a yahoo employee behind him

and I got fired :/.

How do you use the elevator... I think I've tried all the options, but still don't have a key... I think I may have the code though.

So anyone know how to pick up the plastic sword?

Heh I got rather further...I don't think it's a spoiler to say that I was unceremoniously ejected from the building having used the red ball for what it was designed for..don't know if I can be bothered to go back and do it all again.

We shall see!

I beat the game easily. Help is provided below.

Elevator:

image
To get the elevator key, make the robot crash himself, then take it off his body. The password to the elevator is in a painting.

1st floor computer:
image
To get the password for the 1st floor computer, ask a co-worker.

Rubber ball:
image
The use for the ball is on the 5th floor... print yourself a visitor pass, then wait around on the 5th floor for a long period of time.

Hey! It's gone! I peeked at it this morning, and it worked. Now it's "File not Found." Any mirrors out there?

Guys, thanks for playing, I'm working on it :)
My server is down because of the game as well as the new SketchSwap.com my colleague and I created. So the two most popular things on my site had to be taken down for now... oh sweet irony... I'm working on both issues the whole day and hope to bring both things back in one form or another.

Tylor - In answer to your quesetion "So anyone know how to pick up the plastic sword?"

Did you go through the dream sequence? Once you do that, you can ask about the secret, and the sword is explained

Great game, can't wait to have another go at it!

Now this game actually looks like it'll be fun. =p I'm looking forward to playing it when it's back up. Good luck with that. ^_^

So, I've reached step 1 of restoring the game for you. You can now resume play with Internet Explorer! :)

Firefox and all other browsers will work as soon as I fixed the XML library speed issues.

Any hints on how to get the manager to agree to a promotion?? I was hoping washing his car would help, or singing to him, but nothing so far...

Promotion:

image
Talk to the scientist on the 4th floor. Then return to your office, go to google.com, and perform a search for "DNA over IP". Then return to the 4th floor scientist. Now you can get a promotion.

where can I find the robot?

I have the promotion... I've been through the dream sequence... still cant pick up the sword. How do you aquire the upper management password? Also, haven't come accross the red ball yet....

What do you need to do in the basement....?

Guys if you try going *everywhere* you will have your questions answered.

BJ:

If you explore all the basement you'll find the answer to another question you asked.

Seriously, play the game before asking :)

Maybe I'm missing a branch, but from my experience playing this game, one of the first things you must do to advance is gather dirt on your boss.

I will be the first to admit that it isn't really gathering dirt on my boss, it's placing a game object into a certain state. But: The Game = NULL; option is always available, is diffiult to misunderstand, and gets my vote.

So, so far I've learned you can get fired by:

image
telling the boss his music sucks
image
blackmailing him
image
Finding out "The Secret" and saying you won't tell

I still can't find the red ball... I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious...

how long does it take til you meet the robot?

Im trying to play this game in IE, and keep getting the following message:

"The Google Adventure at this moment works with Internet Explorer :/"

...even though I'm actually USING IE?

Help pls? I want to plaaaaaaay

what is The Secret!!!!???

The game is now back in a working cross-browser version!

Ack!

image
I got all the way to the Secret and didn't know what lava lamp to push! I don't really want to go all the way through it again, how does it end?

And what is the "best ending"? I got promoted to Quality Assurance Manager and I am still working in Google after two years... I did get the green substance but never used it, by the way... Is this the happy ending? I agree with most of you guys--I do not want to go through it all over again! Pwease? What is the best/happy ending?? :-)

Help! I've gotten really far, but cant find rubber gloves, stuff to wash the car with and the rubber ball.

In the old text-based adventure games, like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, you could save the game so that if you died (or got fired) then you didn't have to start all over again. Any chance of that with this game?

to GET the ball

image
you need to get promoted then have pizza then intarnet the dictornay then down the server to meet guy the rat i gave cheese

...

surprisingly, your colleague on the second floor is the best help.

image

steal some food from the chef on the third floor to get gloves then you're forced to wash dishes. I used the gloves on the lab level to fix the green substance and steal some into my mug. can anyone help me next?

can someone post a walkthrough?
