Zombie Romp

Zombie RompA recent addition to David Thorburn's Teagames.com website, Zombie Romp is a 2D side-scrolling melee shooter the likes of which are beyond this world. The object of this simple shooter is to stay alive by shooting zillions of zombies and battling a battalion of bats.

Use the mouse for aiming and shooting, and the right and left cursor keys for movement—as an alternative to the arrow keys, the pairs Z & X, and A & S work as well. Although you may move in either direction, the levels require you to continue moving to the right. Once the requisite number of enemies have been put to rest, the next stage will begin without a skip in the beating.

This Halloween-themed game offers some intense arcade action with the smooth animation and physics that David is famous for. The flight of the bats will keep you on your toes switching between firing at ground-based zombies and the pesky winged creatures. The better your aim the longer you'll last in this game of survival against the dead. Click.

It was fairly enjoyable, but way too easy. A little differentiation between levels would be nice. I didn't even notice an increase in the number of zombies between levels, although I assume that there was one.

It would also have been nice to have a zombie counter, displaying how many zombies that you've killed so far, and how many that you have left to kill before reaching the next level.

On a semi-related note, Funky Truck 3 is out, if you hadn't noticed. Also, I'm enjoying the new layout.

This is a cool game. Here is my list of minor gripes :)

o bats can fly in too quickly to kill you. It's luck as to whether or not they do this, and is the major factor in determining how long you live.
o you have to shoot in the direction you are moving; i.e. you cannot back off from an opponent. Very annoying when moving away from an attacking bat and the aim changes direction.
o more guns please :)

Other than that, great! Headshots seem to count (taking zombies down quickly) and it's not too hard to pull off one-shot kills on bats (I mean first shot kills, obviously it only takes one shot to kill a bat :). Yeah, more guns please :) The zombies get harder to kill each level, but the gun doesn't get any better!

Pretty nice game. There's not a whole lot to keep it interesting though. It seems like with his expertise in designing Flash games he could've done much better. I found myself craving an upgrade to that dinky pea shooter. I guess there's always the possibility of a Zombie Romp 2.

I agree that the game needs more guns. The graphics are very nice and it kept me entertained for a while. The game could also use a variety of settings for the levels and could possibly become a side scroller...

I prefer Deanimator - easier and more satisfying...

Cheers, Jay. Keep up the great work.

I liked this, though it got a bit boring after a while. I think it was too easy. The movement was nicely realistic, but too slow for me.

(I also liked that the sound was turned off by default; I hate sudden blaring crappy game music/sounds.)

hey
sounds dumb but all i see when i open the page is the screen with some houses and clouds right at the top and black everywhere else, cant move or anything, nothing 2 click on
help :)
