Just a quick update to say that I've been playing a few games, though nothing compelling enough to create an entry for just yet. I'll keep looking until I find something.
In the meantime, if you know of something I don't, then please send the link my way. =)

As an update, miniclip has a very clean version of Sudoku.
Posted by: Zengief | August 17, 2005 9:55 AM
i'd say it barely qualifies as a casual game, but you might want to look at AdventureQuest RPG at www.battleon.com. it's awfully large, but it can be played in casual chunks.

Darn.
I'm playing "Spooks" and was about to recommend it to you, but I see it's already on your recommended list!
You're just too fast for me, Jay! lol
Posted by: Shastanna | August 17, 2005 12:37 PM

There's also Lego's Spybotics game, which is my favorite of all the ones they've done on their site...

You guys all rock! Thanks for the suggestions.
If you're looking for a review of "N", my mate from the UK, Capuchin, reviewed that one in April...
http://www.rit.edu/~jhb4598/jblog/archives/000644.php3
And if you have any more ideas, please add them to the list! I'm looking for those really special games that are one-of-a-kind! =)
cheers!

i like the first game commented here. vectorman i think its called?
Posted by: robi | August 17, 2005 5:53 PM
I'd be wary of doing a review of the online flash version of 'N' that is making the rounds on ost popular blogs right now.
Seems it's an older version and the authors are none to happy about it leaking out on the web.
for a new game, well...Lightforce has released a few new one that I've liked...
here's one of the most recent ones...damn good game..

Have no idea if this is old news to you or/and absolutely everybody else. But I am having fun with it, as I speak so to say.
Still summer i Norway, by the way. Not bad.

Mount & Blade is a single player RPG currently in beta stage that plays out a little like a medieval version of Sid Meir's Pirates! It does have to be downloaded, and you do have to pay if you want to play past level six, but it is very good.

Just as an addition to the multiplayer games post you put up a little while ago (thank you for that by the way!) I found this site which lists several more multiplayer games, most of which are free to play.
http://play-free-online-games.com/games/games_all.html
I'm currently fascinated with Conqueror online, a free MMORPG with play similar to Diablo. Enjoy and keep up the great work.

If you are looking for a fun word challenge game, try out Fowl Words (similar to your recent posting on July 21, 2005 - 8 Letters).

fouls words is quite fun...= )
i know that Cinematech on G4 has shown some games that you might like. I know that N was on one of them. i think the site (main site) is simply. www.g4.com

I'm not sure if you've played this one, but it was on ATOS (from g4TV) a couple days ago. Legend of Zelda and the Lampshade of no Real Significance.
http://kaktuz.net/msd/zelda.swf
It pretty easy, a short trading-game spoof of the series, but the references are fun. Sorry if this double posts, I don't think the rit server likes me.
PS:Love this site! It's really a service to the public, when you think of it. RSS rocks!

hi jay some time ago i send you an e-mail about polarium... did you read it and didn't want to put an entry for it or didn't you read it?
Posted by: Magus | August 18, 2005 7:54 AM
This is my absolute favorite game - there are a few versions but I like the big competition one where you go through a bunch of games - like a decathalon...
http://www.yetisports.org/
Simple signup (I don't even think you need to put a real email in if I recall...)
WAY FUN - must check it out.
There is also the much gorier version of the penguin whack:

(is it wrong I find that hysterical??)

Hey Jay! Just found out that www.heavy.com just started putting up a variety of games. I tried a couple that were pretty cool. Also, since you own a PSP, they have great downloads to put on your portable powerhouse. Their site is just cool to explore anyway.

I thought for sure you had done a review of shroomz and have been searching your all games list (unable to remember the name) for the longest time.
http://www.shockwave.com/sw/content/shroomz
Game play probably isn't very original (you could tell better than I) but it's addictive and the sound effects and graphics work really well with the game. The music gets tedious but luckily you can mute it.
Posted by: sunshine | August 18, 2005 3:50 PM
Although now that I've found it again the online free game is only 3 levels. How disappointing.
Posted by: sunshine | August 18, 2005 4:02 PM
Brandon: it's www.g4tv.com, actually.
Everyone else, especially Jay, as a suggestion: More of a virtual tour than a game, but still with game elements of collecting, and a few games to play on it, there's www.gorillaz.com, the official homepage of the virtual/cartoon band Gorillaz.
Posted by: OmegaX123 | August 18, 2005 5:13 PM
Maybe you've been told about this site already, but I stongly suggest you take a look at the games at homokaasu.org
I think there are many original games there.
http://homokaasu.org/gasgames/
I hope you see this message. Really.
Posted by: Desincarnage | August 18, 2005 8:18 PM
Desincarnage: We really would love to review the games on that site, a lot of the games are well made and incorporate nice physics, however, some of the games suffer from crude language and adult themes, and as a result we decided against reviewing any of the games on that site.
Posted by: Capuchin | August 18, 2005 10:24 PM
Cool! I'll go check that site out!
heehee ;-)
Posted by: Shastanna | August 19, 2005 12:56 AM
www.mohsye.com has a lot of fun, simple games
be sure to check out "monkey dive"....extremely addictive.

Hey Jay, here's a link for you. Seriously, this is worth a good look.
http://www.miniclip.com/needformadness/needformadness.htm
It's an insane new racing game a Miniclip.com, it's really brilliant, especially for just a free game playable on the web. It's incredible!
I can't describe it any better, you'll just have to see for yourself. Really good.
Posted by: Jessica | August 19, 2005 3:40 AM
That's good enough of a reason to me.
Too bad heh? ;)

Just thought I'd let you guys know that one of my favourite Mac platformers has been ported to Flash. Bill The Demon.
Run around levels, jumping around avoiding bad guys and eating the souls of the damned as you go on a quest to get Satan's autograph. Good stuff. The level design is pretty good.

dum@$$:
I am currently playing Stick RPG and it is insanely addicting.
I have also heard about running for president but I can't remember where. Where did you hear it?
Also, how do you take over the company? Is it by getting the CEO rank ,which I have?
btw you can also steal a car.
p.s. are you talking about the COMPLETE version, which I play?
And Nelso?:
I have a member in RuneScape and the game is insanely addicting. I agree with your rave.
