Dr. Metoro

Dr. MetroMore point-and-click mystery goodness for you from Xylo, the same developer that created The Wand House.

Dr. Metoro is an escape-the-room type game that should please anyone interested in games of this type, though it's not a very long game at all. (Shouldn't it be called Dr. Metro?)

You start out in the dark and it may seem as if there is no place to go. Persevere and you will find a fairly good challenge awaiting you at the other end of the tunnel. Hint: While in the dark, if you see Japanese writing appear when you try to move, assume it's saying that you cannot move any further in that direction. Back up and try something else.

I managed to solve the game in about 15 minutes without any hints or cheats at all. So, if I can do it, you can too.

Play Dr. Metoro

With thanks to Maiko for the link. =)

Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

Complete Walkthrough:

  1. Move Up, Up, Down, Left, Left and Up.

  2. Click on Green button and enter room.

  3. Turn left and move to the drawers on the left side. One is locked but the other has a 'spoon' inside. Take it.

  4. Go to the bookcase and take the 'batteries' (lower right) and look at the paper with a note on it (left middle).

  5. Go to the standalone desk and take the 'silicon-A' and the 'cup'.

  6. Open the drawers and take the 'birdfood' and 'screwdriver'.

  7. Now go to the bird stand and put the 'birdfood' in the holder.

  8. Turn around and face the entrance door and click the panel on the left. Take the 'flashlight'. Now click the panel on the right to close the doors. Move the ladder infront of the doors.

  9. Click the grate above the door and use the 'screwdriver' on the screws.

  10. Move back and put the ladder back where it was originally and open the doors again.

  11. Face the birdstand and turn around to the doors again and a parrot will enter the room.

  12. Turn back to the parrot, and look at its feet. Take the 'key'.

  13. Now use the 'key' on the locked drawer from earlier and take the 'silicon-B'. NOTE: To combine in this game you musn't be close(zoomed in) to any objects.

  14. Now, as the note earlier said, the ratio of mixture is A-10:B-1.

  15. Move to the center of the room and click on the 'cup'. Now click on 'silicon-A' TEN times and 'silicon-B' ONCE.

  16. Now click on the 'spoon' and the mixture should be filled in the 'cup'. NOTE: If you screw it up, you have to start the game again (I think) as the mixture is wrong, but I haven't tried to see if you can still get a 10:1 ratio at higher levels.

  17. While you are here, click on the 'flashlight' and then the 'batteries' to combine them.

  18. Now move to the handprint mold and use the 'cup' on it. It will take a few minutes to dry so leave it and move onto other things for the time being.

  19. Click the 'flashlight' on and move into the dark area behind the door.

  20. Turn left and move straight and take the 'ID-card' on the floor. Head back into the room.

  21. Click on the chessboard. Turn it on. (This is the annoying part if not done correctly).

  22. A-Move left tower to 4th square from top-left(directly up) B-Move Queen 3 steps up C-Move right tower 2 places right D-Move Queen 1 place diagonally North-East. Checkmate! Note down the 'code' (35651877).

  23. Go back to the Mold and take the 'handprint'.

  24. Now you have the 'ID-card', 'handprint' and the 'code'. Move to the security door.

  25. Use the 'ID-card' on the swiper. Enter the 'code' and press enter. Use the 'handprint' on the panel.

  26. Head out the door!

Me either, it acts like it's loading but it never appears. I tried in Firefox and IE.

By the way Jay, I'm diggin the new look! Nice work as always!

Thanks, Thomas. =)

And about the loading, I let it sit for a while before it loaded in its entirety. Be patient. I noticed similar issues with The Wand House from the same site.

but i'm not patient! :D ah, never mind, it's loading.......i'll accept your challenge (what challenge!?)! i will beat it in less than 15 minutes! or....probably not. :B great work with the site!

You were right of course! You just have alot more patience than I do. Now I'm off to see if it was worth it :)

End
BQump... bump.. BUMP bump

i dont get this chess game....

It's called Dr. Metoro because the japanese language consists of two letter consonants like na, to, me, ru, ra, and many others. Because metro isn't of the japanese language, they create an adaptation of it so Metro turns into "ME-TO-RO" which if you say quick enough sounds almost the same as metro.

Good explanation, Nick, thanks. And I guess I should have known that. =)

Jared - still stuck on the chess game? Hint: the chess game will allow only one particular move each turn. Through a process of elimination, even if you don't know how to play chess, you should be able to do it.

I'm just too stupid to use 2 things together!
i have the batteries and the lamp...
how do i have to click to use them together?
(solved the chess-puzzle.. have:
screwdriver, birdfeed, cup, silicone a and b, spoon, batteries, lamp, key)

please help! :(

Just keep trying. Some things are only possible when at a specific position in the room.

Sorry!

got it!

must be in the right position to do it...

yes! done!

This bloody chess problem is driving me mad! Mad! I got the first move right by chance, could you tell me the piece for the second one? Somebody? Maybe rot13 it so as not to spoil things. I'm at my wit's end, I think I've tried nearly every move.

Oh, and by the way, this site is absolutely excellent.

Well, when you put it that way, I have no choice but to help. =)

2nd Chess move: Dhrra sbejneq 3 fcnprf

through a process of elimination that takes far too long for my weasely little attention span :\ i'm way into the idea of a hint for all us chess-illiterate.

wow, missed that.
rot what, now?

Ok =)

First chess move, put the king in check
piece to move: rook
Second chess move, put the king in check
piece to move: queen
Third chess move, put the king in check
piece to move: rook
Fourth chess move, put the king in checkmate
piece to move: queen

does that help?

very much, thankee.

It doesnt seem to work for me!?! The queen wont move!?

how do you mix the silicone????i see the numbers keep going up in the cup,but what that means,i dont know!!!guess you have to somehow put them into the hand mould???
a little help please!!!!

what does Rd8t mean?

Please lord help with chess puzzle, I did the hand print yesterday but know the measures are different????!?!?!

where do you find Silicone B? is it in the locked drawer? if so then where is the key? and what does the bird do?

Ok... nevermind... it all connects together... =D

I can move the rook in the bottom row to the top, but then it wont let me move the queen forward. Can anyone help me?

Oh my god..i really can't do it in 15 minutes..:) I'm from finland, so can someone tell me in really easy english what to do with the chess? Like:go with the king 3 steps forward or something..Thanks.

And then, mu numbers just get bigger and bigger with the silicons in the cups..huh? it is something with that paper from shelf: a:b...
I just don't get this game.
So please help me someone, and tahnk you. Have a nice day!

The queen is the one in the middle (not really just relatively), not the one in the corner; when you move the queen forward, don't start from the current space but the above one, count (from one) to three, and land on three

Oh sorry, ment thank you up there.:)

I think jay's walthrough with the chess is already very simple; let's have a numbering system: number the squares across 1 ~ 8 and the squares down A ~ H, like this:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
A A1 A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 A7 A8
B B1 B2 B3 B4 B5 B6 B7 B8
C C1 C2 C3 C4 C5 C6 C7 C8
D D1 D2 D3 D4 D5 D6 D7 D8
E E1 E2 E3 E4 E5 E6 E7 E8
F F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 F6 F7 F8
G G1 G2 G3 G4 G5 G6 G7 G8
H H1 H2 H3 H4 H5 H6 H7 H8

all the squares have been marked; here's a very thorough walkthrough:
1. move H4 to A4
2. move F5 to C5
3. move C6 to C8
4. move C5 to B6

viola!

as for the paper, it says A:B=10:1, which means the ratio of silicon A to the ratio of silicon B should be 10 to 1. for every 10 A there has to be 1 B.

Ok so, we've got the Chess sorted( Cheers Jack), now hows about filling us in as to where we can mix the silicone. I understand that this must be done in a special place, but cant find where that place is. Also, whats the deal with the torch? I put in the batteries but now it cant be taken from the inventory... Unless its needed later....

Ok, got the torch figured out and got the access card. I still need the silicone mixed though

Not too much to this one... figuring out how to ignite the bird and then swatting it with the rock was a little far-fetched. Plus crafting a transporter device that sent you to another planet was pointless.

All in all, a pretty easy adventure.

haha

Thanks you lot, just did it.

To mix the silicone, i *think* you need to mix it in the center of the room; you need the cup up first, then you need to do something with the formula...

I'm so glad other people are playing now because I don't know where to get the key to open the drawer. I got the bird and beat the chess game. Any hints for the key??? Thanks!!

Still haven't figured out what the bird is for, Maiko? =)

(lol @ John)

OK, I really havnt got a clue about the silicone. I've read the formula, and put it back (automatically), I've got the plastic cup, and both cans of silicone. I've tried dragging one on top of the other in the inventory, I've tried bringing the cup up while in the centre of the room, and tried brining up both cans of silicone in the centre of the room, but still nothing happens. How do I know when its mixing?

You need to stir the silicone with the spoon, and then pour it into the mold.

helloo pleaseee pleaase tell meee where is ythe key and the silicone b..i'm going mad..pls pls help meee!!!

Maiko;

I am extremely close to beating Dr. Metro.
As far as I can tell, you need his card, his fingerprint, and his passcode to finish.

Right now I have the card and the passcode.

A few hints:

You'll need to use the ladder if you want to see the grate above the door.

Te letter you find in the book case is actually instructions.

It should be fairly obvious where the fingerprint is coming from, but how to transfer it to the machine? Hmmm...

I guess that's all I'll say. If you want more hints just ask.

I think the chess board is the key to his passcode, but i know nothing of chess. My guess so far is the positions and the numbering of the board? No idea.

ohhhh at last i found the key ..you say there is a formula for silicone emultion..where can i find it....

Okay, still can't figure out that friggin passcode. The number on his card is 2953789 but that dosn't work...

And on the back of the door is written "Rd8t".
Radiate? What? Blast it all.

yeaaaahhh victoryy..i've finished it....congratulations.....so do you...

Ah of course! The message behind the elevator door is chess notation for the first move.
Rd8+ = Rook to d8, check.

(Already solved it last night)

Yeah, the toughest part for me was finding out "where" to mix the silicone. Wasn't very intuitive.

Okay okay okay. Finally got it. Beleive it or not, the chess board is interactive; the object is (obviously) checkmate, however if you do not move your peices to a certain location the board will be shut off. To start you off, move the left castle all the way to the top of the board. Figure it out from there.
(You may want to look up how the peices move, just a hint.)

passcode appears when you checkmate...you have to mix silicone with spoon..and poor it on the handshape rock....

Jay,
I have heard rumors that you attend (or attended) Athens High School in Michigan.

Is this true, because that is where I went!!

Jason

Jason - nope, West Irondequoit High in Rochester, NY.

...but I'll bet that Athens was a great school nonetheless! =)

lol i hated Athens, but I know a kid from Rochester NY,

anyways I CANT FIND THE FRIGIN CARD ANYWHERE!!!!

=P

what am I supposed to find at the grate above the door? i took the cover off of it but can't seem to do any thing else?

also, where is silicone B?

thanks! and love your site, jay!

oh, never mind, i was just too impatient about the grate!

Ah, the card was last thing I found. Mason, look carefully around in the corridors where you start the game. Of course you might want some light to help there.

Oh, the bird, Jay. :-p
I just thought, "what a worthless bird, just eating my seeds away." I guess I was wrong.

Mason, there are two corridors. I thought there was only one so I kept checking only one. Look for the other corridor in the same place.

Man, there's always just ONE thing in these point-and-clickers that catch me everytime; this time, I thought the flashlight was a testtube :P

A good one like the wand game, short enough for a quick fix hehe

Hi Jay,

Awesome little game! I love these! However, I don't think I could ever beat your 15 minute record!

:-)

I like the new colors!!

I can't for the life of me figure out how to mix the silicon. Like..where do I have to go to mix it? I have both A&B and I also have the formula...I just can't figure out where/how to mix! Please help, it's the last thing I have to do...

YAY! Nevermind I was silly, finally figured out!

btw Jay I love your site, I check it everyday. Not to be gushing or anything....dang, now I really must sound like a dork!

Thank you very much for the comments, now i've got it. I thought also that the flashlight was a testtube..heh.

Yey.:)

This game didn't work for me on Nordinho... but it works now! I kinda found it too short, but the graphics were incredible!

ok im stuk i dont know how to open the grate,i dont know how to get the silicone b plz i need help!!!!!!!! can some one help me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

got the vent but what next? were is the silicone b?

On the ID card doesn't it say his name is Dr. Metro, not Metoro?

How are you supposed to get the spoon in the cup when it only shows a picture of it?

Short and sweet. If you overload on silicone A then there is no taking it out and you must restart the game!

nvm i finshed! i still dont get the end its not that good. didnt use any hints now that was short and was a mocking of crimson room.

I'm usually pretty good at these (okay, I'm not, but I'm good with hints!), but I can't seem to find Silicone B. Help?

Jessica, you'll find what you're looking for from the bird.

where is the torch?

Everybody asks where to mix the silicone... along with quite a few hows, but none of them were really answered. Mabye just give a where and I'll figure out the how.

Aha! You mix it where you find the formula! very sneaky... or mabye I'm just slow. nevermind ;D
I'm a bit stuck on the flashlight/torch thingy though... any hints?

Hmmmm, 3 posts in a row... thank goodness this is my last. Figured out the flashlight thing by pure luck, then the ending confused me a bit. How in the world did John get the transporter but? It's nothing but a series of number puzzles! I can't figure it out! And what planet is the gypsy's riddle reffering to? aaah! In dire need of help!

Ok, I think I got everything but the formula, how do I get this and mix the crap. Please tell me or my ears will start bleeding from the pressure.

yes, I beat the game thanks to: Jay and jack's coments. if you don't know how to beat this game just go up and look at there coments.

i did't get what was the point of this game but o well its fun.6_9

If you overload on Silicone A, you don't have to restart the game. Just put in more B so that the ratio of A to B = 10 to 1.

Okay... Has it been answered where to find the silicone B? I can't find it. I did the chess board, got the bird, etc, but I can't seem to figure this out. Help?

hello all :) since no one is answering that one.. there's a key on the bird's foot, veeeeery hard to see, i only found it because i noticed the cursor of the mouse changed for a momment..
cheers

awesome, that is the first click and escape game i have ever finished thanks to your clues, esecially the one about the chess game. thank you so much jay for giving us the hints with the chess game. i had fun, thanks a lot

Okay, I beat the chess game, I mixed the silicone together, put in the passcode and used the mold I made, and it said 'ok' for both and pressed enter, but the door won't open?

I have no clue where his id is.... can anyone help me!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

hey i need help finding the key, i have everything else but a key to open the drawer. thanks

many people are asking and i am too, where do to mix the silicon, to people who say they've beat this, would you please tell us?

I love these types of games. Good for you, Jay, for finding all these. This one was kinda easy, though.

HELP! I'm stuck! What the heck is his number!

too easy... the only hard part was the chess thing... it was complete bull but if you

right click and hit [play] after each move finishes it will beat it for you

>---- FINALLY A SPOILER!!! BOOYAH

It was kinda short but fun!!!!!FUn !!!!

OK, this is ridiculous. I have every item you can find here. People have asked this question over and over....how the heck do I mix the silicone? I can only have one item on the screen at once. Don't worry about spoiling it for me. i just want to finish it

where is the stupid spoon i feel ive looked every where some one tell

i cant figure out where to mix the stuff at i tried all over, nothing is working,i even tried where i picked the stuff up at ....any sugg..

Alright, to mix the silicone solution, stand in the center of the room facing the elvator (the one you came in from) click on the cup, click on the silicone solutions (in the correct way :) ) and then stir with the spoon. TaDa!

help!! need a spoiler big time. where d'you find silicon B i've found everything else apart from B and a key!

cheers

yay! done it! kinda short though...

thats it? it just ends? very disappointed

can anybody name some other games like this one to try out? Ive played MOTAS and this one

I put the right numbers, is said OK, I put the hand, it said OK, mas nothing happened! Please, help me!
