I used to play this game for hours...now I just want to scream, "WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PRETTY GRAPHICS??!!"

Still, it will probably be buckets better than the movie due to come out this Spring.

This game is cool so far... Why can't I get the thing out of the gown's pocket? What do I have to type? Help?

Same here, can't do anything, shouting doesn't work.....help:)

take mail notice the house is about to be demolished,
say some command to "!hint!stop bulldozer" then wait until you are offered a towel, refuse and wait till its your time to get up. go on from there

i got to the part where it says im in dark, i picked up the blinking black thing and i hitch-hiked but now i dont know what is going on. help!!

I had to look at a walkthrough for the dark part too, but for the rest, i'm gonna force myself to finish them. Stay 4 times in the dark. (Type "stay") then i'll give you a hint: What senses do you have?

to get started:
first turn on light
get out of bed
take gown
put on gown
open pocket
take pill
then take everything else in the room
go south
take mail
go south
stop bulldozer
wait and keep waiting until ford talks to proctor and proctor lays down in your place
take towel
go to pub and drink beer, but only three times (otherwise you'll get too drunk and you'll die)
wait until the vogons arrive
wait until ford drops the black device
take it and press the green button
wait until you notice that you can smell something
smell it, then look at the dark figure
next, you need to get the babel fish from the machine. this takes four steps before you'll get the babel fish to land in your ear. you will need several different items.

that should get you started...

Do you mean on DVD? The movie has been out, at least here in the US, since April. The DVD is due to release in September.

what always upset me about this game is that, at the beginning, I saw no way to actually get anywhere if you hadn't read the beginning of the first book. After there it's a lot of touch and go stuff, I definitely haven't finished it, I have a feeling it's quite long. At least it's in the same weird vein as the books/shows/etc.

This game was fun for about a half-hour, now I just like to fight with the guide helper person. (i.e. You are stupid, you don't know what know means? You just said "I don't 'know' what know means" and you don't know what know means?!!) (Wow, that was confusing.)

i can't stop the robot from taking the babelfish

Put satchel in front of robot panel. Put mail on top of satchel. Cover drain with towel. Remove gown. Hang gown on hook. type: "push dispenser button"

okay-i've gone through two scenarios already, and when i got to my third i'm stuck after i FEEL, it just keeps me in the black, and all the walkthrough's i've checked don't help whatsoever- what do i do?

I have played this game for hours and always get stuck on trying to type in the password on the glass case keyboard can someone please, please, please spell it out to me how to do it, it just keeps saying it doesn't recognise the word! It’s driving me crazy!

I think you have to put the word in quotes.
I don't know the correct word though :(

The recording says: "To open the case, type in the third word from the second verse of the Captain's current favourite poem. WARNING: An incorrect input will cause the case to explode."

The only poem I heard was:

"Oh freddled gruntbuggly, thy nacturations are to me!
"As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee."

"Groop I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes."

Hint for entering the password to access vortex thingy

1. You must have gotten the Babel Fish (look above posts for how)
2. While you are listening to poetry, type |Enjoy poetry| any time after the commander starts reading the first verse.
3. This will prompt him to read yet another verse, and he says something like: "I see you have enjoyed my poetry so I will read a ANOTHER (second) Verse!"
4. Copy down this verse, and note the word that corresponds with the vortex directions.
5.When the guard throws you and Ford back into the Volgon Hold, flip the lever or switch again to find out which word is the password, and type exactly how I type in the space below, substitute "Fripping" for the word you discovered!(Make sure you type the word type too!!)

Type "Fripping" on keyboard

This will be input into the box exactly this way, and the glass case will open, make sure you also "Take vortex _ _ _ _ " or you will be thrown into the hatch without it and die.

Oooh i loved the movie, there are 2 i think, i liked the newer one, IT IS SOO FUNNY!!!

thats so important, you must say something crazy and get most of a small galaxy destroyed, or else you can never enter the maze, a vital part of this game near the end
